Today, I went to Ferndale a suburb of Detroit. Canadian National was doing some repairs on the 9 Mile Road railroad crossing. Since, Ferndale is a No Train Horn Zone. Canadian National added another sign saying Do Not Stop on the Railroad Tracks.

For some reason, today, watching this; I remembered all of the michiana oil filters I changed and the crab nuts I torqued down (2100ftlb with a 7 to 1 torque multiplier) on heads we had replaced And the 3 cylinder liners they let me replace as part of my apprenticeship.in 1958. After the machine shop came the diesel shop. Nelson Busky was a great guy to work for. He had been a tank Cmdr in N. Africa during WWII.

Great video, as usual! Fascinating that there used to be a walkway from one building to the other. Good that so many people seemed to know a lot about those buildings. Dogs and kitty were neat to see, but the stars of the videos were the steam trains! Thanks for throwing those in. They always make me think of my dad. He ran steam until the diesels came in and steam was his favorite.

LOLZ, "Rush hour" in Mt Orb. I wish my morning and evening "rush hour" was like that. Glad to see the MP15 out and about. With the new GP15s on hand it probably was getting some needed TLC. Is it my imagination or is the B36 smoking a lot more?
@neil4423 жыл бұрын
Whooooo the mp15 is still going !!! Trust Jawtooth to find my favourite machine on the CCET -i thought they had sold it on ! And youd think the B36 was a steam engine if you couldn't see it -boy that machine needs a service or a rebuild! And the cat/dog show is just a interesting as the train videos !! Nice work Jawtooth ! That little loco was neat, but the big loco was amazing -- looked like one of the last coal locos before they switched to diesel-electric...anyway, that photo shoot was foamer central! Neat vid, JT!
@robertf34793 жыл бұрын
The Class "J" 4-8-4 is a classic, designed to burn coal but I think 611 was modified to burn diesel oil in excursion service at some point while Graham Claytor was running N&W/NS. I'm glad to see Strasburg is treating her and #382 (4-8-0) well. Both sounded terrific JT, well done!

If the building collapses and falls to the left, the rails will be covered in debris. That ribbon won't stop it. At the owner's expense, both buildings should be declared a danger to the public and demolished. Whatever can be environmentally salvaged should be in order to defray costs and not contribute to our burgeoning land fills. As for Norfie, once she's grown, she'll be the queen of the walk. Turn her loose in the barn as a mouser.
