2 major mistakes and I leave for Sturgis TODAY (8/9/24)

Dude just resealed my primary and trans on my evo dyna the beginning of this season and rode to my buddys and saw a drip under it. Turned out the jackshaft seal wasnt doing its job and luckily had an extra on hand. Sucks having to redo stuff but in the end it only makes you better at wrenching on your bike.

Yeah it’s not the first time I’ve had to redo something. It just sucks to make such simple mistakes and have to redo so much work 🤦🏼‍♂️

​@@GilstrapGaragei hear ya man just rebuilt my front brakes then got em all bled and good then i see fluid on my tank....turns out my master cylinder had a hairline crack in it ...time to redo that one again lol always somethin

I replaced my tensioners this spring and all good. Rode to the Black Hills and had a small lake underneath the next morning. Replaced the cam sensor o ring when I got home and seemed to be good. Hit Sturgis last Saturday on a turn and burn and it didn't like that particular o ring so , rust proofed the underside again. I replaced the o ring again with a thicker one so we'll soon see if I won . I didn't have to dig near as far in as you but I feel your frustration. Good luck 🤞 , hope you have a great trip .

Thank you for the video, I'm going to be doing the same thing on my twin cam 88 soon , I have a small oil leak but I'm going to change all the seals for the first time,, now I know what I'm getting into..💯👍

Good morning 🌅, Brandon, I hope you made it to Sturges , when I was doing my Jim’s upgrade shaft bearing I was confused about seal , so I when to HD they fitted the kit in the inner primary for me, it’s a lot easier with a press, tools, mine went back together fine, I know people do things completely different to other people , but I was once told many years ago never use a impact driver to undo the bolts or screws on the bike, Especially on the compensator, since I have done mine, I’ve done around about 400 odd miles, no leaks, but I do have a noise which I think is my rockers shaft, And from what I found out there is a kit called rocker locker that you install in the rocker plate to lock the shaft in place, And I’ve been told whilst I’m in the area to replace the oil breather valve on the top, I hope you manage to get to Sturgis and back without any issues, I live in a rural area in France, and I believe I’ve got a problem with somebody, I’ve now been for two rides one about just over a month ago and the other one last Friday, and I was tailgated I was keeping to the speed limit they were coming so close up behind me to try and make me go faster, there was nobody else on the road at the time, they had plenty of room to overtake me, A bit concerning, I spoke to somebody yesterday about it and they’ve told me to go to the police and report it, so if anything does happen to me, they have got record of it already, I’ve been riding Harley Davidson since 1995/6 Never had any problems before, in fact, I passed my test when I was 17 years old, Back in 1969, Yes, so that makes me a young old dude, I think you put out great territorials , as you do not cover anything up you are going at it to show what can be done and what can we go wrong at the same time and how to repair it?, Great work., I wished I had a lift like we’ve got probably one day, stay safe ride free, from France.

Reminds me of the frustration of drilling out broken exhaust manifold bolts on Ford 460s...Spend hours drilling out bolts and on the last one, I drill crooked and wreck the head. Arrggg! New policy from that point. More than 3 broken bolts and the thing gets a new head no questions asked. That seal thing you did, yeah, I'd kick myself in the butt for that one. Musta hurt even admitting it.

Thats the beauty of aluminum heads....just weld a nut over the stud and boom itll come right out.

Good morning 🌅, a question about wearing leather jackets or protective clothing, Do you still wear yours?, When I went out on Friday, I definitely saw at least two people riding bikes on the motorway, 70 miles an hour, with just shorts on and obviously see her helmet, to the point where at I was coming back home on the motorway after going to HD, I saw a couple guy with shorts T-shirt helmet, passenger female that look like hot pants, A tank top, and a helmet, I left comment to somebody else who had been put up things about safety issues with people riding gear,
