To understand why Attia continues to go mainstream, you only have to listen to his various podcasts over the last ten years. His conversion to mainstream medicine seems to correlate with his increase in wealth. It is hard to get rich if you go against the mainstream. He talks about how much he likes expensive watches, vintage wines and race cars. He has also discussed that he has three different life coaches and that his number one issue he deals with is “rage”. You have ask yourself why such a person has so much rage. This guy simply started accumulating and liking wealth but is still angry all the time because, at some level, he knows that he is giving into the mainstream war against red meat as well as the promotion of statins, which he has most of his patients on. He loves to insult people and is extremely arrogant. He has expressed his total disregard for anyone that bio-hacks. He recently said he took 600 mgs of lithium to see what it would do but said no one should do what he did - implying that bio hacking is ok as long as he is the one doing it. His arrogance is hard to take.

Variety is what my husband insisted on when he started Carnivore 10 days ago. I serve him 3 to 4 different foods each night. Last night was a Beef Roast, Mazzarella-stuffed Meatballs, Baked Salmon & Bacon Twists. Tonight will be Beef Ribs, Ham, & Deviled Eggs. Variety of foods is easy on Carnivore, not to mention the variety of ways to cook things that change the texture - Fried Steak in Lard vs BBQ'd Steak vs Air Fried Steak. The various meats themselves, when seasoned just with salt, each taste totally unique from one another: Beef, Lamb, Bison, Pork, Venison, Chicken, Turkey, etc. It all tastes different - flavor variety. Meanwhile, my husband, 3 nights ago, stopped snoring! He's only 11 lbs down, so it's not just weight loss - his body's actually healing itself!!

Eating a carnivore diet does not "cause weight loss". It causes weight normalisation. If you are overweight you will tend to lose weight. If you are underweight you will likely gain it. I love the survival show naked and afraid! From the title I was put off, I thought it was going to be some silly excuse to have naked people on the screen, but it's fantastic! It was a part of my journey in realising that a meat based diet is the way to go including the fat and everything else. Also Dr Berry's video on real superfood vs fake superfood was a real eye opener for me. In his Dr Berry no nonsense style he said, go research the vitamin profiles of these foods for yourself and check that I'm not full of crap 🤭 I did and now I eat mussels, sardines and liver thanks to him It's so crazy how backwards everything is and then when you actually look at the science yourself, you're astonished at how the misrepresentation of plant nutrition came about and just keeps getting stronger 🤷
@cantstandya1572 күн бұрын
While that is true for short term survival, that does not tell us anything about what is best for longevity, I'm not saying it isn't the best option but we just don't have the data yet to back it up for carnivores. The data for a "balanced" diet including carbs would suggest fibre and polyphenols are important for longevity. I would be sceptical of anyone trying to conflate the Inuit and carnivores diet. The Inuit diet consisted of many raw and fermented meats which we just can't get today, they also had a microbiome / gut enzymes that had evolved to their diet over thousands of years. This is a far cry from Billy from Texas charring the crap out of a rib eye on the bbq. You guys are literally the guinea pigs for the carnivore diet, I hope that it works out for longevity because I think it has some great use cases, just don't put your head in the sand over the potential of it having negative long term effects either, we simply do not know yet.

To me, it seems that Peter's egregious position on carnivore isn't just because of ignorance or incompetence. The majority of my weight loss was achieved by keto 140lbs. The reason for swapping to carnivore was not weight loss but to improve chronic conditions. 7 months carnivore my chronic diarrhoea gone, my blood pressure is normalising, my activity up, I hesitate to say this all my family and several friends have had winter colds and flu and I've sailed through (touch wood) so my immune system is in fine fettle, my brain function memory and ability to respond quickly improved, and in the recent cold snap not as cold as I was on Keto or obese. What is not to love about carnivore it's not about weight loss as that implies an end date it's about improving your body to cope with what life throws at you.

How can I POSSIBLY not be getting enough calories if I go through 2-3 liters of 35% cream every week? Some days I CRAVE fat so much that I literally drink whipping cream straight out of the carton and it is soooooo good. It feels like I am being hugged from the inside. I'll go through the 2 L of 35% cream, 4L of 10%, 18-24 eggs, 2-3kg of beef, 1kg of fatty fish (ie wild caught salmon), at least 1kg of cheese and 1.5kg of bacon every week. I render my own lard and tallow and deep fry most of what I cook. TBH I REALLY enjoy the stares I get when I'm shopping and people see what my cart is loaded with. But what they NEVER see is processed carbs, boxes of starch and sugar, cans of who knows how old they are veggies or all those little "treats" people poison themselves with. However there are some days where I am legitimately just NOT hungry. I have lots to choose from and all stuff I love but nothing that I want to eat badly enough to actually eat it. I have learned to only eat WHEN I am hungry and not just because the clock tells me to.

Kent, I'm glad you're reviewing this. I watched this yesterday and I was so disappointed. Starting with the title... I was less than a minute in when I thought "these guys are clueless." However... I thought I'd watch the whole thing and see if it improved. And I'm not even "Carnivore." For me, there's plenty of anecdotal evidence supporting carnivore. There's you. There are doctors. There are women, there's Kerry Mann and the list goes on. And when you look at someone like Charles Washington... He's looking at 20 years, Carnivore. And Kelly Hogan is pushin 15 if she's not there already. And she's had, like 3 kids, all while on Carnivore. That's some evidence! Again, I'm not even carnivore and I had a problem listening to these two. The reason I'm not carnivore is because I don't have a why. For me, carnivore is about much more than losing some weight. It's about addiction. It's about healing. I'm 61, retired and at a healthy weight. I don't suffer from any metabolic issues. And, I really like my mother n law's banana pudding. But I only have it once a year. To stick to an all meat diet requires a why. To stick to any diet requires a why.

I did lose some weight on carnivore. But by God, that is just a small tiny detail of carnivore!!! Among a myriad of problems. Type 2, vision, terrible pains, inflammations (plural), boils, fistulas (2), plantar fasciitis, snoring, mild scurvy, sinusitis... etc. That gives some idea of my journey. As a short example: Sinusitis, for more than half a century, I'm 55. It was gone in two (2) weeks! I was mesmerized. Even dandruff is gone. Quite honestly most of these things were not even on my wish list. I did carnivore because of diabetes. Without a clue that other benefits would roll in, right away. FYI nowadays I call carnivore a MIRACLE. Yes, with capital letter. 🙂 PS: For what it's worth I had my own 100% bio garden. No artificial fertilizers, no pesticides... Later even bought a piece of land to make my own veggie farm... Not anymore. ;-) Those guys can continue arguing their dogmatic stupidity, cholesterol, etc. The fact is I had trouble walking from my living room to the WC. My gums were bleeding, teeth about to fall... Now IF, notice the if, my back scratch is a clear sign that I already cheated my diet. Well I do sometimes. ;-) No pains, not even a cold to register. For me that's good enough. 🙂

Y'know Lee, I get REALLY tired of people telling me what I'm feeling. How can you assert that people lose weight because they're tired of eating. They KNOW wether they're tired of eating. And he seems to ignore the fact that A) most of us went carnivore to address health issues, not weight, and he doesn't put any weight on the number of health issues carnivore resolves.

Same in my home, I'm going to get my mum to shop my pantry. My father is left side paralysed from a stroke (none covid cause) so he is allowed to eat whatever he wants, what's it gonna do kill him(he does have smoked salmon for breakfast everyday though, he's spoilt 🥰) so between him and the local food bank I'll get my store down to shelf stable fat, fish and meat, it's gonna take a while though😁 ❤️🥩❤️🥓❤️🥩❤️

Attia looking down his nose at carnivores is a turn-off. It’s fine to express doubts and admit one needs to do more research, but he literally says he hasn’t thought much about the carnivore diet before pontificating about how foolish it is. He has always seemed smug, really, which discredited him for me, even prior to seeing this video. 😌 And I’m not fully carnivore…yet. ☺️ But I do eat heavily carnivore and extremely low carb. I avoid the “healthy” greens now.

From someone who claims to be the MOST Scientific, he should be ashamed to come out with this drivel. Science MUST be unbiased, or say nothing until you have removed these biases and have completed a full and thorough study. I am sure there will be some sponsorship in the background tainting his work, and a little controversy on KZbin always helps the income. Thanks for reviewing this, I saw it yesterday and thought about responding, but I am sure your response is better than anything I could have come up with. Keep up the good work, we can't stop everyone from having these opinions. Leading by example is the main way we are going to keep the Carnivore Lifestyle front and centre. I think you should have played their video at 1.5 speed! So slow, probably because they're just making it up on the spot. Who's watching this guy?!? He said absolutely nothing, just guessing stuff and not thinking any deeper than the narrative we've been fed for so many years that clearly doesn't work! The worst thing is, there will have been so many people watching that could have benefited from at least doing at least a 30 day carnivore elimination diet to see if it could help them. There will have been MS sufferers, diabetics, bi polar, schizophrenics to people that could just get better energy and sleep or any other improvement. If not themselves then friends and family members who need to know about carnivore. It's so frustrating hearing conversations like these! 😔

I'm actually disappointed in Attia. Had him in high regard a decade ago, but he devolved, as opposed to evolved. No time to study anymore, he's after the money now. Anyways, carnivore is full of nuts, so it's partly plant based, LOL. Eating only meat? That's nuts after all 🙂 I mean, to take statins like he does this day and age? That disqualifies him from sensible discussion right away.

Glad you made this video. I had not realised Peter's stance had deteriorated to that level. I'm one of those people that, about two years ago, in my initial months of low carb eating, had become rather enthused with Peter's thinking, following recommendations from my elderly mother who was hearing from his lips exactly the longevity sweet-talk she wanted to hear. Eagerly bought and read his book, "Outlive". Sure, the book had a few good elements, but it started to become apparent that the longevity / health-span premise was being stretched a bit thin, well before the half way point. And there were some points where all common sense biology / physiology alarms were going off, after reading numerous suggestions to use medications (of known side effects potential) with a preventative intent. The book made it almost clear to me that a complex, and shifting, framework of physiology hacking (with medical implements) was Peter's game. Low carb / keto / carnivore is much simpler and renders much of this bio-hacking framework redundant. Very difficult to hack code that has been undergoing vicious debugging for over two million years. Yet, he and many others still think they know better...

23:05 seems to be a splinter / log situation happening here 😅. We could of course turn his quote directly on him. Ironic. As for his point… when someone feels better than they have in their entire life as a direct result of a change in diet... and when that change in diet has been recommended against by the authorities and experts for that person's entire life... it's gonna be difficult to convince them that some single marker with flawed epidemiological evidence should override their direct, lived experience of transformative health improvements. At some point, you have to ask yourself: are we treating numbers on a lab report, or are we treating human beings? Because when the numbers say 'danger' but every other aspect of health is screaming 'thriving,' maybe it's time to question our assumptions about those numbers.

I was hoping for this video. I am cautious with Attia because he takes Rapamycin. I learned all I could about that drug while my dog was battling chondroblastic osteosarcoma a few years back. Most of the research is in mouse models and also in dogs. It is a very exciting thing… BUT! His willingness to consume it simply for longevity concerns me. He has admitted that he cycles off when he starts to get mouth ulcers. Seriously? Even Brian Johnson stopped taking it (per my understanding). Anyways, I’m sure he has much to offer but I feel dubious about most of his claims based on the above. ⚠️
