****For the breakage ***Try giving yourself a few singles in the front. That way you can take them out, wash, plait back up, and lay in between your cornrows. The key is to do a slight braid going back before you finish the plait so your wig still lays as flat as possible. It's a little more work but better than doing a whole head over again. Hopefully that helps! Love your page btw

I learned from KinkyStyles1980 not to add the edges into the braids. So, now in my protective styles with wigs or added hair, I flat twists my edges and my kitchen so I can truly take care of them (moisturize, wash, etc) Maybe that can help. Start your cornrows a little further back and braid your edges separately going vertical.

Tip that works for me with long term protective styles is massaging olive oil on my edges to really loosen build up and then washing it. I do it 2-3x over the course of 1-2 months. Really makes a difference.

It’s actually healthy for you to leave your hair alone for that long I did. I accidentally left my hair in a bun and isn’t touch it for 3 months ( not combing or anything) I washed with rice water in the beginning & my hair is longer than it has ever been !!!

I usually put my hair in about eight braided pony tails and dry overnight. It gives it the blow out effect without a blow dryer.

Hey sis this came out sooooo freaking good i love it!! One tip or trick i found for getting slick high pony’s is to do it in sections so you can get that really slick look, kinda like how you do a low pony!! That’s just a little tip but i definitely need to try out this hairstyle cause it is so dope !!

@@nottodaylilbaldhead I learned my lesson when I went fully natural. I would put my hair in a puff after washing it and using all of my products just for it to still be wet, smelly, and itchy from being wet all week.

I use apple cider vinegar mixed with water in a spray bottle and it dissolves those clumps you get from box braids and have saved my edges many time. Give it a try 🥰

Yesss definitely wanna see a #beautyfactory vlog. Also when you do have your braids in why don’t you try washing your edges more often. Whenever i have braids i learned i had to wash my edges at least every other day because that edge control build-up is something else!

Maybe try for each cornrow do two smaller single braids in the front and then start the cornrow so you can take them out and detangle when you wanna wash yours edges. It looks great tho 😍😍

@@zchats26 the hair wax I use is actually very strong. There's no flaking and it's a super strong hold. Because I can't use water with the product, when I add water to detangel, it slips right on out! I believe it's a pomade consistency. I'm just starting to get into styling for long periods loll. I wish I could put my hair away for extended periods, but I need moisture like daily lol! But I def do low manipulation styles and let it sit under a wig. I love wearing my fro but like you said exposed hair leads to so much breakage! But these are such gems and I’m incorporating most of these things on my own hair growth journey

For the edges thing ,that used to happen to me but I realized it only happened when I start the the braid too close to my Edges so now when I start the braids I try to make the first section abt a half inch thick before starting the braid

The clumps at the edges are due to edge control/ gels, wig adhesives. I have the same issues. Great vid as always

My scalp and hair are super fragile so the trichologists only allow me 2 days to wear a wig a month and I can't sleep in it. I have to shampoo weekly to get product off of my scalp.
