1.) babies can start fighting way earlier than that my babies were just over a month when I had to jar like 10+ extra spicy males 2.) also they can flare earlier than that it's just extremely hard to see because they're so small but I have seen it and it is freaking adorable 🥰

I recently bought a black Copper Halfmoon and had him shipped aaaaall the way from Thailand. He is HUGE. He absolutely dwarfs my other 3 bettas which are older than him and pretty well grown. I had Discus, years agos, when I Iived with my parents, that would come to the front glass of the aquarium whenever they saw me or someone they liked from very far away. And they would all go and hide whenever they had a glimpse from far away of peope they didn't like, like one of my sister's boyfriend who liked to poke them. I don't know for bettas, I had some and always sensed cleverness in them, I'm guessing they might be smart fish too, like cichlids are, and might be able to tell who's this human behind the glass. They watch us as much as we watch them !

Its amazing to see them all growing up. They look amazing so far! And also, I have a question. My family has a male betta that recently lost a few scales and a red welt is growing where the scales used to be. I couldn't find anything on it after I did some research and we figured it was a tumor or something of the sort, so we just kept an eye on him to see id anything else would show up that would clue us on what it was. However, recently our betta sorority got the same thing with all but one of the five females, and there was no cross-contamination between the tanks. Do you have any idea what it could be? We're all getting pretty concerned.

Did you do your research? Just make sure you know what your doing before you start breeding there are some good video's here on youtube on how to breed betta fish and how to make things easier on them.

Ty' Gaskin the biggest things are make sure to watch the breeding so there is no fighting and the fry don't get eaten, and make sure you have adequate housing for all of the fry because they might have a lot more babies than she did

I have a crown tail betta. He was beautiful. I was told that I could put two females in with him. At first he chased them around. This went on for a couple of days. Then I had to leave for a couple of hours. When I came home I couldn't believe my eyes. It looked like someone put him in a meat grinder. He was all shredded. I separated them right away. My question is will his fins grow back? I feel so bad about it. I have read articles on breeding them but the articles never said anything about not putting two females and one male together or about females beating up the males. Thanks
