Great tweaks. The first step is basically an hollow body position. I used to think my abs were very strong but I found difficult keeping this static position for more than 30 sec. Breathing is very uncomfortable too. With this leg raises become a much much better exercise !

Fantastic video & I like how you show us a real life example of yourself doing the exercise whilst explaining it. Many thanks & keep up the good work.

Can you do a video on nutrition, like what to eat if you want to lose body fat and what foods to eat if you want to gain muscle. I would appreciate it if you did!

+7perikin7 Already done tons! Just check out the weight loss / nutrition/ healthy eating playlist on my channel. Also look for my videos on "calorie hacking". It's one of the few weight loss methods that actually works with the laws of Nature rather than against them.

Appendix to the 1st move: One may change this to an isometric hold. Keep your heels touching the ground but your back (your abs) pressed into the ground. Now lift off your shoulders and stretch your arms behind your back. Now hold. Feels funny and is improving everything abs related (for me, who has weak abs, that is).

the weird thing is my abs works better with narrow chin ups more than regular abs routine

Hi, super vid as always. So, in step 2 you have a round back? Or is your lower back pressed on the floor like in step 1? Could you show this steps maybe without a t-shirt next time? That would help a lot. :)

+Martok84 Yes, I thought it looked more pronounced than it really was. But yes, your goal is to move your spine and pelvis as much as possible while keeping your abs tense.

QUESTION!!! :) Whenever I do a move like this with bent legs (for example the N-Hold, hanging bent leg raises, frog raises) I find my knees want to part the higher I raise my legs. Should the knees always be kept together? Is that important for ab activation? It's really hard to keep the knees together and I'm not sure it's worth the effort?
@RedDeltaProject9 жыл бұрын
Definitely work on keeping the knees together. If it's difficult it probably means something needs to be strengthened.

+Keto Calisthenics it does work the abs more, think of it as a progression.

how would you apply this to step 1 of leg raises? would modifying this and keeping your knees more or less up be effective?
@RedDeltaProject8 жыл бұрын
I would keep the knees up and focus on just moving the lumbar spine.

ok. what is your opinion on leg raises step 1? in one of danny kavadlos' books that same move is an intermediate exercise instead of a beginner
