Place a ruler between the lace and the fabric before you cut and then slide your scissors along the ruler as you cut .... then no accidental cutting of the lace. Beautiful sleeves.

I love what you have made. The jacket is cool and those sleeves 🥰🥰. What a beautiful detail to add. I can see your blouse with some ruffled tiers added to it to make a maxi dress, and some lace detail added to the bottom tier. Yes to the lace on the jacket. I am thinking you could add a strip of the blue with lace along the bottom of the blouse. That would give you the extra length you want and it would carry the fabric and lace to the body of the blouse. It does look beautiful. I like to break up a really nice print with solid sleeves. It tones down the bright colors I like. So, I get the best of both worlds.

I have owned blouses that have an inside ruffle that holds the top pouf of the sleeve up. Some have been made of tulle and some were a double layer of a stiff fabric similar to fine horsehair.

Denim jackets look better open anyway. I find that fast fashion fabrics do have a place in my upcycles. Especially denims because they wear quicker and the denim is softer and easy to work with. I found a dark wash denim vest with crude accent over stitching. It’s soft against the skin and so easy to refashion and slow stitch. Now I want more of them. I’ve learned to appreciate the imperfections. It’s part of the upcycle look. A bottom patch ruffle out of cut up old jeans would look great on your jacket.

Well, in my sewing class I was constantly told what shape I could not wear because of my size and my bust and hips... I left the sewing class and I sew whatever I fancy! 😂 what do you think? thank you for your comment lovely! 😁❤️

I love both the jacket and blouse. My vote would be no for the black lace. I love the jacket as is. The treatment of the lace in the blouse looks so good. Can’t wait to see what else you make using that technique!

I would also try adding the lace to the bottom of the blouse. I think it would have been nicer with white lace, as the fabric has white in the background. I would also change the sleeves on the jean jacket, I don't like them turned up like that. TFS Hugs!

The Jean jacket turned out really well, yes to the lace! The snipped lace could have been repaired by a tiny zig zag. Lace repairs are easy to do and don’t show up. You could add a small shoulder pad to lift your shoulder on the blouse. Another idea is to add a small amount of tulle or fabric as a ruffle inside the shoulder seam to lift up this skeevehead. Hope that makes sense. I think the blouse would make a lovely patchwork dress. Just keep going with your blue sleeve fabric and add a few more coiours. It’s looking lovely!
