2 Nights Winter Camping in Lake Tahoe | Backcountry Snowboarding

Backcountry snowboarding right down to our campsite has always been on our to-do list and we’re so stoked to finally make it happen! So despite the terrible winter we’re having, we grabbed our camping gear out of the closet and set out to pitch a tent in the snow. Oh, and we brought our mountain dog Hazel with us too! It wasn’t the easiest trip we’ve ever done but it was well worth it to ride some lines in the Tahoe Backcountry. Enjoy :) 🐶❄️🏂

This year is the first year I’ve tried to hike outside of the summer season and I was so excited for the snow and snowshoeing. We’ve gotten some snow here in the Sierras around Fresno but not recently and I missed the time to snowshoe. Spring conditions are creeping in. I’m getting excited for summers outside again but kinda wishing I’d get some snow for snowshoeing. Even spring is exciting for hiking which I haven’t done! All the wildflowers in the foothills and waterfalls! You guys look like you really made the best of this strange time with the weather. It’s always so fun to watch you guys!

Nice little trip with the pup, making the best of the droughty winter and funky snow. We have a couple Heeler pups we splitboard with and it's super fun for the most part. One of them (the female) is a little agro though and tries to attack the board sometimes on the downhill if she can catch up haha

Not going to lie I LOVE seeing Hazel!! 🐾❤️🐾I love ACD…I have 3😅. I totally recommend RexSpecs best dogoggles on the market! You can get UV Protection and clear inserts. We use them because my male has zero special awareness and will run into trees, bushes etc and cut up his face.. 🙄 its all fun in game until mom has to foot the vet bill lol so its RexSpecs for the win.

Hahaha we still ended up melting it mostly. Boiling was just for food. Either way it's annoying and kept thinking we'd run out of fuel. Good to know those cannisters last forever

Seriously! I’ve made a new personal rule that someone starts melting snow upon arrival and not after camp setup. Otherwise it’s like 9pm and you’re debating whether or not to just risk dehydration the following day. Looks fun btw, will be attempting half moon couloir next weekend.
