This channel has been beyond helpful this past month. I've been trying to figure out the best way to stream mixed drums with 12+ inputs while not really overloading my laptop and creating a massive amount of delay. The routing has been a pain due to the amount of inputs, but thankfully I can avoid it by using my board to mix. However, I'm definitely going to try using something like voicemeter for mixing in my DAW with live playback as well and see how that turns out! I just gotta thank you for the constant tips and advice explained so easily in your videos man, cheers!

Whoa! Thanks man. I wish I watched this well before I bought my mic let alone my other streaming stuff. I had to go with the mix amp (awaiting delivery) simply because of the investment made on mic (AT2020USB) etc. Also the Aussie dollar makes the GOXLR around $450 where the Astro mix is $220. My 6 followers wont really know the difference. :) The 2 PC setup series has been so helpful, thanks again!!

For a 2 pc setup with the GoXLR, it's worth noting if you also want multitrack audio recording (e.g. in OBS) for post production editing, you are much better off connecting the GoXLR directly to the streaming PC via USB (and not the gaming PC as per this video) and using the line out and line in with the gaming PC (to send the mic audio and recieve the game audio). With Discord on your streaming PC, you will also be able to record your friends chat onto a different audio track. If you want an easy push to mute option in Discord, get yourself a $10 USB foot pedal you can wire to the streaming PC. Job done.

Hi I got a audio interface and a mic on gaming pc will my audio go to streaming pc if I get go xlr with elgato?
@jdaoust47 Жыл бұрын
This is exactly the way I went about it. Except instead of my line out going back to my gaming pc, I instead use the line out as a second audio source to my stream pc. Broadcast stream mix and line out to the streaming pc. Music and discord are also on my streaming pc. This way I can leave my music off on the line out for post production (most of my music is twitch safe but not youtube safe). I do not need any audio going to my gaming pc except the headset line out. I use the goxlr headset line out to the line in on the gaming pc and use my headset and headset mic for in game chat while my main xlr mic is going to my stream pc. On the gaming pc in the sound settings you can select the line in and check listen to audio. Now you are listening to all of the goxlr sounds on the gaming pc. Hope this makes sense!

Thank you so much for all of your videos. I just got a GoXLR and built a new gaming rig. Streaming has been very rough the past two years, with only one pc. The frustration gets to me when I just can't get things just right so that the pc can handle the game and obs at the same time. Being able to split that stuff now is going to make this so much easier and more enjoyable for everyone. I've been using Voicemeeter and my Turtle Beach Elite Pro T.A.C. mixamp all these years. It's been an amazing tool to have, but I'm happy to finally have a physical mixer to change things. Also, RIP Sam and not muting. lmao

one tip before you try Voicemeter, it CRASHES a lot!!! For every 30 mins I always have to go back and check if my voice is still ok or Voicemeter crashes and messes up my whole audio!
@Nalerian5 жыл бұрын
Also, you can't change any devices physically that are set up in Voicemeeter without it crashing. Example: I output an HDMI feed to a capture card from my gaming PC, voicemeeter pushes the audio I want from that gaming PC to the HDMI out to the capture card. I occasionally make a video with my kid from the Nintendo Switch and swap the physical HDMI cable from the PC to the dock on the Switch. Voicemeeter crashes hard and needs a reboot (you can't just restart the sound engine, the entire program crashes) and all audio is hosed.

I recently just did a complex setup for my dual pc setup. I have 4 audio source coming from my main pc and going to my streaming pc - a mic, webcam audio, pc audio and elgato audio. This makes it easier to adjust the sound for my stream but also when I go to edit my videos (I record and stream) it makes it easier to change/edit each track to my liking instead being stuck with what I got. Thank god for NDI having a dedicated output filter for video and especially audio. The only part that sucked was syncing audio for my webcam with my mic and syncing my webcam/mic with my elgato for my stream
@Redjkeee5 жыл бұрын
When I've been planning to build a dedicated stream PC I've thought that I would buy some fancy Yamaha mixer, but when it came to reality I was really on the budget. I've searched the web for ideal way to connect audio from both PC's how I need it. And one thing that had saved me is VBAN of Voicemeteer, it's kinda complicated but it totally worth it, I've learnt how it works and set it up in a few days, then just simply made a backup settings and done with it. Almost a year have passed and only a couple time I've been having problems with sound. Now I'm wondering to move on GoXLR mini and a new mic. Thank you, Harris, for making such a great content, you're the only guy I watch constantly on KZbin and always get that motivational vibes from you last year. I now have it set up so that my Astro mix amp is hooked up with my GoXLR. Love the combo. Had to hook up a ground loop isolator to help get rid of the feed back. As a former owner of a MG10XU, the GoXLR is so user friendly. If anyone is on the edge of getting one, i highly recommend pulling the plug and getting one.
@f4n4tikkgamin434 жыл бұрын
Well you don't have to complicate it that much in Voicemeeter. You can just use one of the two virtual inputs for your system sound. Then output that sound to your streaming PC, or separate it. What I do is: 1. Use Voicemeeter Aux virtual input as my system sound. 2. Use Voicemeeter Vaio virtual input as my game + discord sound. This way I separate the game from the system so I don't get various Windows alerts sent to my streaming PC and thus into my stream. 3. You can use "Virtual audio cable" input + output for music. This way you have three separate audio streams that you can control directly from your gaming PC. So you can basically achieve the same thing as with a Go Xlr. At least until you can get a Go Xlr. If you let's say want to split your game and discord/chat too, you can always use Voicemeeter Potato which provides 3 virtual inputs. So, 3 virtual inputs + virtual audio cable and you can have the same sound separation as you would with a Go Xlr. Happy streaming everyone :)

You can also send alerts through your mixer over channels 7 and 8 if you have a dedicated mixer, by sending the alerts to monitor only, then into a USB sound card. The USB sound card is then sent to channels 7 and 8 on the mixer (this way you can hear your own alerts as well).

Would you have to use a line in port on the stream PC to get the audio from stream port on mixamp? Elgato external capture cards feature an Aux port on them for analog audio however it doesn't look like the 4K60 Pro Mk. 2 does. This is my first foray into a Dual PC gaming & streaming set up so I want to get set up right the first time. I have the Shure MV7 microphone so it can be used as both an XLR & USB mic & already own the Astro A40TR + Mixamp Pro (console combo) . I don't have the funds for the Go XLR right now as I just purchased my 2 computers + 1440P 240Hz monitor and the less expensive Mini is out of stock, but I'm definitely interested in the method you mentioned using the MixAmp Pro as my audio controller. With a wired headset and mic with USB and headphone out is incredibly easy providing you don't want to hear your STREAMPC audio - if you do, a cheap stereo mixer with at least 2 line in and 1 line out will do the trick (or pony up and get a goxlr and don't read anything below). GAMEPC: y splitter from speaker out to headset and to line in on stream PC - keep in mind a y splitter will decrease overall volume by a few dbs. GAME PC: plug USB mic in - headphone monitor jack on mic to microphone jack on STREAMPC - rather than hearing your own voice it sends it to the stream. OBS capture card settings, capture audio is line in jack - 0 latency providing you're cloning or using capture card as a passthrough, obs projecting will have a little bit of latency. Adjust headset monitor volume on microphone to increase/lower stream PC mic volume - 1 mic 2 PCs! This is how I have it setup for my streams until GOXLRs go down in price here in Canada and you can have more fun with your audio, I used voicemeeter in the past but I hated the latency it introduced. Hopefully this helps somebody who's in the same situation as me. Cheers!

Would you not be better connecting your GoXLR/Mini to your stream PC? That way you wont need to worry about unbalanced signals being sent to your stream. You can send your digital audio from your gaming pc (most MOBOs have a digital output). This would also allow you to switch the digital input to a console too if needed without complicated routing options.

I do not want to buy a GoXLR Mini without having an XLR mic. ---- Do any guru's here know the method to this madness? I plan to run Discord and Spotify on the gaming PC. If you do like I say you have 2 hardware inputs for cables that can be used for music, alert etc.... and you can still adjust levels on all sources. for me the set up is like this on voicemeeter potato: HW Input #1 : USB mic -> A1 + A2 + B2 HW Input #2 : Cable-A Output (music) -> A1 + A2 HW Input #3 : Cable-B Output (alerts) -> A2 + B1 HW Input #4 : Cable-C Output (not in use) HW Input #5 : Cable-D Output (not in use) Voicemeeter VAIO (default device) -> A1 + A2 + B1 Voicemeeter AUX (default comms device) -> A2 + B3 A1: Speakers (motherboard) A2: Headset (DAC) A3: not in use atm A4: not in use atm A5: not in use atm B1: Stream main audio (desktop sound, alerts) B2: Microphone (used in discord, stream basically everywhere I use mic, which makes me able to use compression, gate etc for mic on all programs) B3: VOIP (audio source for VOIP on stream) Now I use a single PC setup atm, but this works. If I check Line in under line out I get a humming sound that is so loud it rips a hole in your ear drum. I keep hearing my voice which I don't want to hear. In a single stream setup, I disable headphones so I don't hear my voice. With a duel PC setup, there is no way around disabling the input of my voice coming from the stream pc. I personally use a setup similar to the second one but I plug my headphones into my gaming computer and use the audio jack on the mic to plug into my streaming computer as a mic input. I also use a speaker output from my main computer and plug it into my line in on my streaming computer as to introduce less latency for gaming audio. I'd like to hear you opinion on this harris, and if it is a good way of setting it up.

Is it me or did you not give us what the settings should be on the streaming pc?

So wait, is voicemeter installed on you gaming pc or your streaming pc? Also, is your mic and headphones connected to the gaming pc or streaming pc?

hate to add another later of complication but the main reason I haven't bought a GOXLR is because i'd have to give up my KRK Rokit 5's...I haven't thought of a way to have this two pc stream setup and still have get to keep my powered monitors. I've been debating taking the leap to two pc stream but I don't wanna give up my ability to play guitar and mix music through my monitors

Can you explain or link me to an existing explanation on how to utilize the feature on GOXLR that allows you to connect to your Stream Deck on the streaming PC? Since they are on separate computers, they do show an option, but I guess I have to know the name of the computer? IDK how that will help, but please help me!!!

I love how easy you make the Go XLR sound, however, at $400, it's a bit..........steep in the pocketbook.

a 2nd pc should not be too hard to get because unlike your gaming PC, a streaming PC can have much more corners cut. if you are going to use GPU encoding, the stream PC does not have to have a top tier CPU and not even a high end GPU because AFAIK the hardware encoder is the same across a GPU generation. for example: a GTX 1050 has the same NVENC hardware as a GTX 1080ti. that means you get no quality improvement from buying a more expensive GPU from the same generation - get a newer entry model instead if you can afford it as the hardware encoders get better each generation. then again, who builds a seperate stream PC to use GPU encoding - right ? just slam a used GT 1030 in there and spend as much as you can on the CPU

This is dope but how would you record separate audio tracks while using the goxlr ? I use voicemeter and I send all my audio from vm to my streaming pc via vban and then the audio is split up on my streaming pc in obs so when I record my stream the audio will be on separate tracks.

Ok, I use USB mic and USB headset. As far as I understand I am able to transfer all sound from my gaming pc (game, TS) to my streaming pc just by adding my capture card from my streaming pc as an output in a software (e.g. voicemeeter) on my gaming pc. Hum, sounds more difficult when I'm writing it but actually it's easy, right? Thanks for the help. Or I did get anything wrong, but even then thanks for the help. :D

How does GoXLR work with a soundcard? Let's say f.e. Sound BlasterX G6 (also USB) or internal Soundcard? As if I understand correctly the CoXLR sort of becomes a USB soundcard for the PC it's USB-plugged in (?)

what mic do u use when recording video on youtube? it sounds way better then when u switch to ur streaming pov

How would this differ if i have a soundcard? Currently im running a audigy fx 5.1 for the headphone amp and a Blue Yeti. Iv got Blueyeti into voicemeeter and iv got my soundcard going into voicemeeter, from there there going to voicemeeter vban back to streaming pc. Do you think there is any other way of doing this? Im thinking about getting a GOXLRmini but im wondering if i even need it atm or im happy with my current situation. If you can think of any other different configuration that does the same without having to use Vban id greatly appreciate it. Thank you, Great Video!

So you go over how to setup the gaming PC with voicemeter but not the streaming PC. Is there anything extra we have to do there?

"3.5 inch" lol.. I think you meant 3.5mm. no judgment.. there was a LOT of technical jargon flying out of your mouth. This video was extremely helpful. Thank you

Man this was great but it’s still missing the one piece of information I can’t seem to find. I am using essentially your first setup with a roadprocaster mic. I am trying to get my mic to go to the streaming pc on a separate channel so when I record my stream for later production I can mute or modify my audio separate from my game audio…. Any advice?

Really appreciate all your videos and VERY insightful. I dual PC stream and finally about to get the Mini GOXLR but can't figure out if I'm going to be able to set up my headphones sound like I need. I play PUBG religiously and need my "Loudness equalization" under the windows sound option. Is there something similar when right clicking the "Headset" on the GoXLR? If not any idea how I could route the sounds back to my PC headphones so I can use the windows default Loudness EQ? Preferably without VoiceMeeter, LOL.

Part 3... getting different audio sources into your recordings, while also streaming. Do you record and stream on the streaming pc? When you record it's nice to capture multiple audio tracks. What is the best way to accomplish that?
@Vahlkor5 жыл бұрын
I don’t know if anybody has asked this question yet... So part of my dual PC is having a channel in my mixer for all my consoles. These consoles are connected through an HDMI switcher that goes into an HDMI splitter with audio extractor. From the splitter I send video signal to my monitor and capture card, all I have to do is select the switcher channel from the console I am going to play and viola I have video in OBS and audio in my mixer for that console. So the mixer has audio for my gaming pc, audio for all my consoles and audio for my streaming PC. Now does GOXLR has an input that I could use for all my splitter audio source?

For the stream pc is it just one 3.55mm cable? And game pc is done via usb from goxlr mini?

Let’s say I were to use voice meter how you were to get my voice and game volume to the stream pc with a usb mic, would I be able to somehow grab discord voices and send them over through my capture card and to the streaming pc?

Yes Nvidia has made doable. But it is limited and does not take much to stress CPU and cause stuttering

I have Creative 5.1 Surround Speaker and a gaming headphone that I alternately use them both depends on whether I 'm on gaming or watching movies with my family. How do I connect both output devices with Go XLR (or another brand mixer) if I wanna use two pc setups (currently I m streaming on single PC )
