In Sweden we wil be using a compact version of Aimpoint. Don't know exactly witch model.

That looks like a very well designed and well made rifle. Except for the carbine gas and maybe the barrel profile it looks like it would be considered one of the top tier options in the US

@@Almost_Made_It I did get to shoot it today and it actually was mid-lenght, which is very nice. Didn't take a closer look at the profile though. I hope they start selling it, it was a good gun altogether. I'll try to post the video in the near future

I hope Sako took the blank slate opportunity to adopt some of the improvements and optimizations for the AR, particularly cheap stuff like JP gas rings, and cold weather stuff like the dual low-K spring "lobster tail" extractor.

That whole Korean AK procurement was a big WTF moment. Are there any articles about why they were deemed unsatisfactory?

2:12 Position of the QD sling mount can be changed

Yeah, with the MLOK you can mount anything you like anywhere you like, but pretty much everybody else has a machined QD slot at the start of the handguard. Even my 15 year old VLTOR CASV has one!

@@probablynotthebestwaybut That would just add cost to the rifle since QD mounts need to be made from steel.

@@lipidi1542 so you're saying all the other manufacturers got it wrong? It's a literal hole, the added cost is minimal. Check out Midwest handguards for example to see what I'm talking about. Again, this is a small issue. But those are club guns and that is the only point preventing it being true ambi. Of course they could have bought two MLOK mounts for every gun but they didn't

@@probablynotthebestwaybut You're making a straw man argument here. I didn't say that all other AR manufacturers are wrong, i just pointed out that it would add to the manufacturing cost of the gun.

@@lipidi1542 I meant the materials. Haven't seen steel inserts in the handguards from other brands. Sorry for the tone, I didn't mean to ram you. My take is that this is a minor inconvenience, but would be a nice touch on a club gun like this.

Kiitos! Mä taistelin tätä duunatessa teknologian kanssa niin paljon että meni totaalisen hermo ja pukkasin sellaisenaan ulos. Lyhyt katsaus oli kuitenkin kysessä. Metsästän langatonta mikkiä joka toimis sonylaisen puhelimen kanssa, ei ole vielä tullut vastaan. Markalla saa markan shown!

@@probablynotthebestwaybut Haulikkomikki voi auttaa. Pelittänee langallisena aivan hyvin. Tuulensuojalevyistä voi tehdä helposti akustiikka-/valonhallintalevyjä tapettiliisterin, erikeepperin ja ikkunalstan avulla. Kysy Vitterissä asiasta lisää jos kiinnostaa.

Do we know why they did not go with a short stroke piston variant like the military version?

No info on the Why, but I'm glad they didn't, as this is a really smooth shooter. How it works in the field is not an issue with this gun as it is purely for training use.

@@probablynotthebestwaybut To be honest, as a Home Guard soldier myself I'd prefer to practice at home with a (near) identical rifle that I would be handed in the event of war (hence my question). Perhaps reservists in Finland in war would actually use DI? I personally haven't heard much about which rifles Finland are getting (the same as the Swedish military?).

The thing is the FDF haven't yet decided on what kind of rifles they want to buy. But the MPK needed the guns yesterday. I would say the piston/DI is not going to make much difference training-wise, since there are bigger differences such as the barrell length.

@@probablynotthebestwaybut Nope, this is the rifle FDF and Swedes are getting, with a tons of options volume in the contract. Germans tried to complain about the direct procurement but court did not uphold the complaint

What can be said about the new Sako ARG S 40 rifle. After having the change to shoot it all I can say is that -It's an AR-15 rifle like any other AR-15. -With the difference that it does not have a chromelined barrel and the bolt release is ambidextrious. -We were told that the barrel's won't be chrome lined because it would effect the accurasy, but everybody knows that that just utter bullshit. They just don't know how to make proper chrome lined barrels in here in Finland is the real reason and at Sako, they are too chicken shit's to admit it. -It will be super fucking expensive, compared to other brand AR-rifles. -The sights aren't great, but they aren't terrible either. When they release the service version to the military, I pray to god they remove that ambidextrious bolt release, beacause I guarantee it will create nothing but misery, hatred and grey hairs to the servicemen and women.

@@probablynotthebestwaybut @probablynotthebestwaybut Nii siis siviili versiossa ei haittaa minkään vertaa ja kilpa käytössä voi olla kovinkin kätevä, kunhan sen käyttöön tottuu. Mutta palvelus aseessa tolla ei ole minkään näköstä tarvetta. Puhtaasti ylimääräinen osa, mikä voi pahimmassa tapauksessa estää häiriön poiston ja aseen purkamisen. Täytyy muistaa että, keskiverto varusmies pystyy saamaan RK:nkin niin häkellyttävällä tavalla juntturaan. Sekunttiakaan en epäile etteikö muutama PV:n oma aseseppäkin alaa miettiä alan vaihtoa. Talvella se täyttyy lumesta ja jäästä ja auta armias kun ase jossa laukasukoneiston toleranssit on huomattavasti pienemmät kuin, nykyisessä RK sarjassa, noita ei tulla saamaan toiminta kuntosiks kuin että ne saadaan teltassa rauhassa sulatettua ns "auki".

Okei! Mulla ei oo kokemusta arskan kanssa siitä että luistinvapautin erikseen jäätyis vai arveletko että on vaan sen ambimallin vika? Pystyn ostamaan sen että umpeen jäätynyt arska on vähän vaikeempi avata kuin RK, oon yhdestä mod1 rynkystä rikkonut perän kun koitin avata sitä samalla tavalla kuin putkiperäklassikkoa. Mutta kuten sanoin niin ei oo kokemusta ambivapauttimella olevan aseen kantamisesta kovassa pakkasessa. En silti ehkä näe että se olisi sellainen selkeä yksittäinen ongelma. Mutta sillä kai niitä vehkeitä testataan että jos se vikoo niin eiköhän ne jätä sen pois

@@probablynotthebestwaybut Sanoisin että, se tulee korostamaan jo olemassa olevaa ongelmaa. Pakkasellahan arskat tahtoo jäätyä jumiin, asia jolle ei voi mitään. Pienet tiukka toleranssiset osat yhdistettynä latausvipuun, joka ei oo kiinteänä lukossa kiinni, niin sitä lukkoa ei saa millään muuten liikkumaan kuin sulattamalla. Maahan hakkaaminenkaan ei tule pitkässä juoksussa auttamaan sillä arskan tukithan on eleensä tehty kaikesta muusta kuin teräksestä. Pääasiassa alumiinista. Pakkasella sen vivun aukko tulee jäätymään umpeen, tästä mää olen satavarma. Jos ei muuten niin se on täynnä lunta, kun ryynätään hangessa. Ja mikäli hiekkaisessa maastossa mennään, niin hiekka tulee löytämään tiensä siitä rungon sisälle ja siitähän arskat ei tykkää sitten yhtään. Niin, kun tuota tarkemmin miettii niin, kyllähän tuo käy järkeen että, sen modatun RK perän sais helpommin hajalle kuin vanhan. Sehän on alumiinia vanhan kumipäällysteisen teräsputken sijaan.

Juu. Siitä CTR-lavasta korkkas siis se lukitus, muovi murtui. Oli toki -20 pakkasta, umpeen jäätynyt RK ja kuula sisällä ettei periaatteessa mielellään ois vienyt sulamaankaan. En sanoisi että se tökkiin jäätyminen on vain arskojen ongelma, mutta kun ne ei oo tehty traktoritehtaassa valuraudasta niin se aukominen ei oo yhtä suoraviivaista. Näen itse tän vähän tasapainotteluna. Uudet pitää ostaa koska nykyiset antautuu ja kaalihakkureita ei tee kukaan paitsi ehkä joku Dasan ja nehän vasta hienoja onkin. Ehkä pitää opetella sulattelemaan. Saapa nähdä. Mutta en silti luopuisi sen takia tosta ambivapauttimesta, se on tosi nätti käytössä. Ehkä ilmastonmuutos tulee ja se pakkanen on jatkossa enää vaan jääkäriprikaatilaisten ongelma...

Ar15 is a good rifle pattern, but its kinda sad to see the ak5c and the ak4d say goodbye. All european weapons (wich is various) going to all in one. France get the 416F rip famas Brits the ks-1 rip l85a2 Germany the 416a8 rip the g36 Italy going NARP The only to stay that it's other than an ar15 seems to be the AUG and the G36

@@milanbiza8660 yes i forgot this one! i was really found of the CZ Pistol as well, the p09 particulary. they discountinued it for a while and the newer czp09 nocturne seems to be a master piece. I consider to get myself one as my first 9mm. I live in europe as well as our finish friend so have a gun is quite a process; and cost more than US, so i hesitate between it and a glock
