Very good to see you back. Your older videos have been a big help in sorting out my used rifle. I now know why it was traded in. After going thru the action its smooth as butter and feeds anything i feed it. Cheers

It's a shame that they can't fix that bolt pin stop screw issue. I had to take my .44 magnum Rossi 92 to a gunsmith and he shortened it enough where I can tighten it all the way without locking up the bolt. Seems so easy and would save them a lot of customer service complaints as well! I must admit, after I got that fixed and added the Palo Verde spring kit that I saw on a previous video of yours, I've got a dream rifle! Glad to have you back!

Just trying to make sure everyone understands we're seeing a mirror image of the rifle. The left and right sides are the reverse of what is showing in the video. In reality, the loading gate is on the right side when looking at receiver from the rear, whereas the video shows it on the left (image is reversed). The lettering on the barrel is backwards in the video confirming this. Thanks for the video and explanation of possible problems when reassembling.

Thanks for that, I never even realised myself ! I used the front camera on my mobile so I could see in real time the image I was recording, its very hard sometimes to get a good angle, well spotted, people should still be able to relate to the vid though, thanks for the comment, cheers.

@@myrossirifle , I apologize if my comment seemed critical. My comment was to clarify to someone who might be taking their Rossi R92 apart for the first time and wondered why their screw placement, loading gate, etc. were on the opposite side. I am fond of your channel and I watch one or more or your videos quite frequently. Your disassembly/reassembly videos of your Rossi R92 are the most informative of all Winchester 1892 type lever action rifle videos on KZbin. I appreciate the time and effort you put into making all of your videos. Thank you!

Thanks for posting this. I'm in the midst of reassembling my 92 and it's not locking up properly. I'll re-check the pin and bolt. Well, I will once I get my new ejector spring collar, as the old one decided to go on a magical journey down the barrel and into parts unknown of my workshop.

great video! i shot my friend's Rossi with a mixture of 357/38. After two dozens of rounds through, the action started to grind and eventually was locked up. He un-tightened the pin screw and it worked for another 8 rounds or so. Then it was locked up solid and had to be disassemble fully to get it move again. Could this be the pin extrusion issue, that it got loose after the recoil of dozens of rounds and locked the action? Thank you good sir!

Great videos! Thank you so much for sharing all this information. My lever started locking in the closed position, but seems different than the pin and cover screw issue. Mine will lock up only when off safe. When on safe or half cock, it does not lock up. Have you experienced anything like this? ***Update: deburred and honed the bolt, lightened the hammer & trigger springs, then applied Frog Lube to heated up parts... working like a champ!

Just bought a used rossi 92 .357 carbine, feeding is rough, the shell stop has spring in it, and is centered at the case when stopped, The door or shelf seems to work right but, seems to drag slightly, rifle is clean, should I remove the shelf parts and polish all surfaces that touch or should I look else where? Sometimes when a feeding jam occurs the round is at an angle bullet pointing too high, primer end low. The gun Mars ammo while feeding, but the gun internally looks great with good machining? I've worked on lever guns mostly marlins or winchesters 30/30's or .22lr's before but no rossi 92's. I'll give it a go tomarrow though I'd ask an expert...won't feed .38's or .357mags. Maybe only 2 or 3 out of 5 rounds

First of all, thanks for your prior videos. Sadly, I have hard time reassembly the lever to the bolt on my new rifle 357 mag. Please, do you have any other tips to reassembly.

Okay, so how do I fix it, if the pin is causing the action from closing?
@jerrywilliams57412 жыл бұрын
When I reassembled my 357 magnum, I too found that it is always locked up. I checked the bolt pin for length and found it to be .008" shorter than the width of the bolt. I then screwed in the pin retaining screw all by itself and found the bolt to ride back and forth very freely. So the two possible culprits explained in this fine video do not answer my problem. It still locks up every time I reassemble it. Any more suggestions out there?
@myrossirifle2 жыл бұрын
I think you are leaving the pin slightly proud of bolt when reassembling ,check pin is absolutely flush with bolt when you drive it in.If lever operates then but locks up when you put screw in its the screw length.

Got it, thank you.

I recently purchased an R92 Stainless. 357 20" and of course proceeded to dismantle it. I smothed out the mating surfaces, replaced the ejection spring, wiped the mating surfaces with some moly grease, then spent two days of and on putting it back together. my biggest issue was the installation of the new ejector spring. stupid design. my god its dumb. The newer spring is twice the length and that collar does next to nothing to keep the pin centered. ugh. And you start questioning yourself like, am i just stupid I cant do this? Then you find out things like this guy did, its just a screw thats too long for what it does. but, this is how you learn about your gun.
