Asahel was killed by Abner, not Amasa. So many "A" names in this book!

Awesome lesson! But…. In regards to your application. Jesus is not king over this world. Satan is considered the ruler of this world… . Satan has been casted to the earth and rules earth. This is illustrated when Satan offers Jesus all the earthy governments when Jesus was fasting. Satan cannot offer what is not his. This is also referenced a few other times in the bible…. Even when they tried to make Jesus king, Jesus says his kingdom is no part of this world. Once Jesus binds Satan and throws him into the abyss, Jesus will then be king. Right now, Jesus is ruling as king in heaven with his father YHWH. This is also emphasized in the model prayer where we pray for God’s kingdom to return to the earth and His will be done on earth as it already is in Heaven. So in a sense, the model prayer is praying for Jesus to return his kingdom to the Earth and for Satan to be destroyed… Satan does not exist in heaven, and he will not exist on earth soon.

Wonderful insight and sharing my humble sharing. John 12:31: Now is the time for judgment on this world; now the prince of this world will be driven out. When Jesus says the "prince of this world will be driven out," He means that Satan's power will be severely weakened through His crucifixion and resurrection. Because of Jesus, people can be reconciled with God. Although Satan's power was greatly reduced, the Bible says he is still on earth, deceiving and tempting people. However, his ultimate defeat is certain and will happen when Jesus returns (Revelation 20:10).
