Hello Mark. Best regards from the north of Germany. My name is Marcel and I actively started archery 1 year ago. In the meantime I have joined a local club so that I can regularly use the club's grounds to practise. Unfortunately, it is only possible to practise this great sport to a limited extent here in Germany. Joining my club helped me a lot to learn the basics of the shooting process, but hardly anyone could really teach me a good aiming technique. I spent a lot of time looking for a good aiming technique on the internet and came across your videos on KZbin. I watched almost all of your videos about archery and your shooting method. And what can I say, it's incredible. It really works!!! It's easy to understand, learn and memorize. After only 1 year of archery, as a beginner, I am able to hit a target at 40m without missing an arrow. The grouping of the arrows at this distance is not yet so good, but that will be down to my release, which I still need to work on. Many people in my club shoot either instinctively or using the GAP technique. I am the only one who uses your technique. I now have such good results at 20m that people are already asking me how I can achieve such good shooting results and such a good shot pattern at this distance after only 1 year. Many thanks for your tutorials on KZbin! I can really recommend them to everyone. Best regards from Germany 😉👍 Marcel *If my English is catastrophic, my translation program has failed *lol*

This system works great. I use it, with some small personal adaptations, since I started archery 3 months ago and I am getting very good results. I am glad I came accross Mark´s videos on youtube. Regards from Argentina.

Greetings Malcolm and welcome to VOGTLAND OUTDOORS ! GREAT to hear this practical method is working for you ! WONDERFUL to hear that you're ADAPTING it to suit you - I LOVE HEARING THIS FROM OTHER ARCHERS ! This method was MEANT to be "adaptable" - even for archers who SHOOT right-handed but are LEFT-EYE DOMINANT ! REMEMBER THIS: This "hybrid" method is simply the COMBINATION of 2 ALREADY-PROVEN shooting methods: 1. Olympic Recurve Bow Archery; and 2. StringWalking So it makes sense that it works for YOU as well ! Many thanks for taking the time to post your feedback - you made my week ! -Mark Vogt | VOGTLAND OUTDOORS

Thank you. But now, let's do something about accuracy, like hitting inside the 10 points ring.

Greetings Sangey and welcome to VOGTLAND OUTDOORS ! You & I both KNOW that ARCHERY is a "PERISHABLE SKILL" - you need to be practicing near-DAILY in order to shoot your best. But living up here in NORTHEASTERN ILLINOIS it's really really CHALLENGING to practice DAILY because I'm either taking my GRANDKIDS to some sport, my NEPHEW to some sport (or Boy Scouts), or I have LEAGUE TENNIS. On top of that, when I DO have TIME to go shoot, the WEATHER has been COLD & WET OUTSIDE :-| But I promised that my channel would have "NEW VIDEOS WEEKLY", so there I was yesterday - out in the rain after NOT SHOOTING for 2 WEEKS :-| The OTHER things people don't realize is that - like swimming, the MUSCLES you use for ARCHERY are ONLY use WHILE DOING ARCHERY :-O. So a 2-week "hiatus" for a BAREBOW archer means those muscles are already starting to DECOMPOSE ;-) after 2 weeks ;) Now that summer is fast upon us, I'll get better :-) SPEAKING CANDIDLY, I've been battling TARGET PANIC for several YEARS now, but lately it seems to be very much under CONTROL, so I'll take the near-bullseyes for now ! Cheers, Mark Vogt | VOGTLAND OUTDOORS

I tried shooting a recurve for one season, really enjoyed the pure simplicity of it. What are your thoughts on shooting the bow canted? I understand the concept of walking the string but I would imagine shooting canted would render that technique useless? It was explained to me to truly shoot instinctive it time, lots of practice, & consistency. Much like shooting a basketball your body & eyes adapt to the distance intuitively with enough time & practice, would love to hear your thoughts🤔

Greetings Justin and welcome to VOGTLAND OUTDOORS ! OK - LOTS of questions - let me try to answer them methodically: 1. Thoughts on shooting a bow CANTED? ONLY NECESSARY when that bow DOESN'T have a CENTER-CUT REST. The BEST guy - the JEDI MASTER - on this topic is none other than the incomparable GARY CHYNNE: www.youtube.com/@garychynne1377/search?query=canting 2. Can STRINGWALKING work when the bow is CANTED? ABSOLUTELY YES - you simply need to ADJUST those stringwalking gaps (some archer insist on calling this a "crawl" - a term which makes ZERO sense) so that they're WIDER than you would normally make, because CANTING (tilting) the bow REDUCES the elevation created by the gap by 1/1.414 (1 divided by the square root of 2 - go check out the sides & hypotenuse of a 45deg right triangle) I made a video on this topic, and while it was hastily made, this video gets the point across: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mKi8hYNrg7WNabc 3. Instinctive Shooting (a NONSENSICAL term because an "instinct" is something you're BORN with, while this form of shooting is more accurately described as INTUITIVE, because INTUTION can indeed be a LEARNED ability) is precisely what your fellow archers describe - a skillset which takes LOTS of practice to gain any level of proficiency, and even after all that practice can STILL be fooled (easily) by changing the SIZE of the animal being shot, or by change the BACKGROUND to something UNFAMILIAR. You won't hear me telling you to NOT try it - just explore with eyes wide OPEN, so you're not disappointed. KNOW THIS: pretty much EVERYONE can shoot "instinctively" at very very SHORT distances - something around 5m to 10m; but I know very FEW instinctive archers who can hit any target beyond 30m with any reliable consistency; in fact the majority of instinctive archers I know regularly MISS deer-sized targets at 30m completely when we're in 3D shoots... Hope these answer help! -Mark Vogt | VOGTLAND OUTDOORS

@@VOGTLANDOUTDOORS Thanks you for such an in depth reply, a lot to digest. I like your analysis of instinctive vs intuitive makes sense. Links are also excellent 👌 I wasn't privy to Gary's channel but upon checking some of his stuff, I'll be digging through more! Good stuff 👍 gets the wheels turning & I may just have to get back into traditional archery 🏹

"... I may just have to get back into traditional archery." YES !!!!! Mind you, I'm NOT saying "NEVER shoot a COMPOUND bow ever again"... I LOVE my compound bows. In fact, I just ORDERED a NEW compound bow - that Sanlida Dragon X8 that EVERYONE but MARK has reviewed so far ;-) I just want all COMPOUND BOW archers to shoot compound bows BY CHOICE - NOT because they CAN'T shoot anything else - does that make sense? I hope so! -Mark Vogt | VOGTLAND OUTDOORS

Hello! I'm loving your videos. I've taken up archery recently and shooting a very low weight bow (18 lb) barebow. Would you recommend I try your method and if so, about what finger gap should I try for 10 and 20 meter/yard? I'm struggling with consistent grouping because I'm not really sure what to use as my sight and your method looks nice and simple to use. Thanks in advance if you get around to reading my comment :)

I think you have to find Out what fingergap you need for your drawweight by Shooting it out (it should be smaller than 3 Fingers cause of less power in the bow) and after that you can Go on with that method...
