the reason why jiu jitsu guys go for the waist is that we want to control the guy with the seat belt grip to the hooks in and get the submission- either bow and arrow with the gi or rear naked choke in the no gi. It's not wrong, it's just different goals.

Thank you for your input, I do the same thing as the one above talked about, but Im going for the ass in the future, not the waist as Im a pressure wrestler that wanna open up/glue the opponent for the strikes. Sweeps is my worst enemy and this eliminates one of the things I never really thought about/worried in ten years but still sometimes felt it (as in getting sweeped to a bottom side control position).

Yessir. We're taught to not engage the elbow so he can't hook it for the sweep too :) Nice variation here though. Will try it.

I was about to type the same comment as Dash when you mentioned as the jiujitsu technique being wrong. Even in that front headlock position, we jiujitsu guys can go straight for an anaconda choke or guillotine depending on the situation.

Cool, and informative, videos...as always. And your soundtracks/background music is always groovy; your soundtracks even give me ideas of things(music tracks) to work out/train to. Much thanks for the uploads/videos.

I don't trusted in my stand game, several times I pulled for guard and went smashed. Your throws and strategies make a diference. I will choose the time for ground fighting, for both takedowns or guard pulls, even having 73 kg. Thanks man.

i know reaching for the collar tie with the lead leg hand is wrong but i did it all through college and high school and no one made me pay for it lol. maybe they were just shocked by how dumb i was they just couldnt bring themselves to react

None of this concerns me, because I always go to control the opposite leg (much faster) and from there to truck :D

Ive been taught never to make first contact with my lead hand and you made first contact with your lead hand what are your thoughts on first contact in the hand fight?

We typically teach first contact with back hand but as long as you have strong fundamentals you will be okay.
