Lauren, when I make a NCW I cut a slightly smaller than the card slots piece of RFID fabric and slide it in between the backing and the card slots before sewing the sides shut. It give the wallet RFID protection for the credit cards, I do this because I was a victim of a card reader who emptied my bank account several years ago.

OMIGOSH! THANK YOU! This wallet defeated me last year, and I swore I'd never sew it again. But I can't find another pattern to suit my sister-in-law, so, because I love her, I was willing to give it another try. You really simplified the pattern in the most wonderful way. Again, thank you!

I've had this pattern for some time now and have felt so intimidated by it I would never give it a try. I even loved it so much, that when the acrylic templates came out, I purchased them. Still I wouldn't make this wallet, still intimidated by it. Watching your video makes it look so much easier that I expected except for the last step. Think I'll use rivets for that part even though my machine can handle it, my OLD hands aren't what they use to be, rivets will be easier on them. Loved your video and now I'm ready to give the NCW a whirl! AWESOME HARDWARE, less is better in my opinion. :) Thank you Lauren!!

Thank you so much for posting this video. I watched this video a couple of time before I made the wallet. I referred to it while I was making it. It made the whole process run smoothly. Your tip on the card slots and the advice for the birthing canal were exactly right. I'm now a fan of Ben. Keep making these videos, please.

Ok. Thanks to you I decided to make this wallet. I made it according to pattern just because I’m a weirdo and for some reason I always make “justice” to the pattern by making it the way the creator intended. It was a pain in the a.....😂😂😂 Last part being those stitches on the side catching everything. I was tempted to add rivets instead but, I ended up sewing it. I will make adjustments as well. You are right when you talk about the interfacing. I will make it again though. Thank you so much for your videos! I’m loving all of them.❤️❤️

LAUREN, love your video and have watched it at least 5 times. Making the NCW for the first time. Listening to what you say to interface the flap with, I’m wondering if all of this would make it too heavy for a domestic machine to sew? I always use woven fuse and I have Decovil light and heavy. I’m using quilting cotton. So, if I use woven fuse on both exterior and lining flap and then 2 layers Decovil light on exterior and then 2 layers Decovil light on the lining, would my domestic machine be able to handle all those layers? That will work out to 8 layers all together. I have a Bernina 765 which sews pretty well through thick fabric but I’ve not sewn through this many layers. What is your advice? Thanks so much.

Hi there, If I was going to use grommets for both a wrist strap and cross body strap, can you recommend a size of grommet I should use. Typically I make the bags out of leather of cork on the outside and fabric on the inside. What diameter should I be using and what barrel length should I use. I’m finding that rivets are not that reliable, so want to try grommets Sincerely Heather

I have a Bernina 770. I have seen it sew leather, but I haven’t made a wallet before. Is it industrial enough you think to go through the wings on this? I would love it if I didn’t have to do rivets. Thank you.

Lauren glad I found your video! A couple of brief questions. I have made this wallet with a regular conventional machine which was awful sewing through thick parts. Is that a walking foot machine you are using, could you tell me the model number? also did you buy it online or did you get it in person. No one sells those in my area so would have to purchase online. thanking you in advance.
