I actually subscribed your channel a while ago. I should have taken your suggestions. What happened recently, infact just two days ago returned from our trip to Vienna, Salzburg and Munich. We actually planned for a two month long multi city Europe trip but after a week stay in Vienna, then Salzburg, also seen Hallstatt, then stayed 8 days in Munich. What happened from Munich we tried to go Marseille France, struggled to get train connections, it was showing 4 transfers. First two trains we were able to get booking, but later once TGV part came the seat reservation not available. We in fact purchased a thousand euro cost euro rail pass but not getting seats any of the trains outside Germany. We were flexible to go anywhere but non availability of train accommodation dampened our spirits and we had to abruptly end our trip and back home dejected and disappointed after 3 weeks. Another downside we never planned what to see in each city, struggled to find proper transport especially it is peak summer and busy season. Lot of time wasted with the on the spot research and planning, got tired. I felt it was a failed trip though enjoyed the Munich historic sites, castles, scenic beauty of Hallstatt, Vienna Museums, loved Germany and Munich. Our mistakes not planning every minute detail , no advance hotel reservations, not renting a car, not taking tour packages. Thought very easy to navigate between cities in Europe by trains but realized it is way more complicated especially if you are planning to travel outside the countries. For example we had no issues including ICE trains traveling within Germany and Munich with the Deutschland 49 euro ticket. Similarly Vienna weekly pass, but the real challenge came when looked to travel beyond Germany. Wanted to share my travel experience so that it helps fellow travelers and look forward to suggestions from the travel Gurus. Cheers 😀

can't believe Paris was featured in multiple itineraries and Stockholm not in a single one. Stockholm was by far my favorite place, a wonderful mix of everyone speaking English and a beautiful culture to learn from as well as a gorgeous landscape ( it is an archipelago!) and food that was a million times better than Paris. Paris is great but if you go in as a tourist without local knowledge it is not. Stockholm is wonderful as a tourist with no knowledge, because it isn't filthy, full of traps and bad restaurants. I am from NYC btw so I know what I'm talking in terms of filth and tourist traps.

How can you compare Stockholm to Paris? Paris is the most iconic city in the world. Full of history art culture and cuisine. Who the hell knows about small city as Stockholm? Paris is second biggest metropolitan area in western europe after London. Paris has everything. Stockholm is a village
@diddlybop
@diddlybop Жыл бұрын
@@onedirectionniall8381 Paris may be iconic but as an experience that didn’t add to my enjoyment. I had food so bad there that i left entire dishes untouched, so it’s reputation for food is definitely just that - a reputation. The reality is that you have to choose restaurants very carefully to avoid horrible food. In Stockholm the quality was impeccable, even at random touristy restaurants i close out of convenience. It may be a large metropolitan city but that didn’t add to my enjoyment. Fyi you don’t need to agree with me i if you have your own opinions about Paris 🤷🏽‍♀️ it definitely has more hype. But my experience is not unique, in fact it has SO MUCH hype that it cannot live up to it. That’s why somewhere like Stockholm blew me away, i wasn’t expecting the best food, the beauty, and to me that’s what traveling is about. all those reasons you listed didn’t make Paris a good place to visit for me. Ive been twice, only plan on visiting other parts of France instead.

I LOVEEEED Stockholm too and won’t stop talking about how beautiful it is to my Finnish boyfriend. I liked a lot more than Helsinki. The only downside are the very loud and shouting refugees in train stations--witness it a few times while there.
@diddlybop

@@vimmytravels yes it's unfortunate but Sweden welcomed many refugees and even has many programs to integrate them into swedish society, it's unfortunate that some (not all) do not treat their new home well and instead make it hard for other refugees to be welcomed. I had a similar experience as well as in other European countries. Still such a beautiful place ❤️

Max number of countries in two weeks (15-16 days)?
@MultiCityTrips
@MultiCityTrips 2 жыл бұрын
5 will be the max number of cities/destinations (and it can be within between 3-5 countries) depending where you are planning to go. You need to factor in the travel time (and waiting time at the airport and transfer time from hotel to airport and etc.), your transportation choice between these destinations (bus, ferry, train, air) are critical as it will eat up a lot of your precious time (and money) if you don't plan it right. You certainly can visit more than 5 cities/destinations in 15-16 days but while you'll see a lot, it can be exhausting as you'll constantly moving from one place to another. You'll spending your time traveling than enjoying the destinations. Hope this helps.

You could choose 5 days in each of 3 monumental cities (ie London, Rome, París, Madrid , Barcelona) and dedicate 1 or 2 days in each city to do day trips to near attractions . In that way you can rest in one place for a good amount of days by avoiding a lot of hotel hopping and you can enjoy gems close to those big cities like Oxford/Cambridge from London, Toledo or Escorial from Madrid, Versailles from Paris, Zaragoza from Barcelona, etc.
