2 Weeks Java & Bali - Indonesia

Hello. My name is Kristie. I'm from the Netherlands, currently living in Germany. Since I was little I loved travelling. When I met my boyfriend in the beginning of 2021, we try to travel as much as we can. Even though, he has a full time job and I have to finish my education, we take every opportunity to explore the world.
We have taken Indonesia totally into our hearts. The people have a complete different way of living. They are so proud of their culture and traditions, which they want to share and show.
The absolute highlight of Java was the sunrise in Mount Bromo National Park, we will never forget this incredible view.
A few days later we went to Prambanan Temple. There we met several school classes. They were really nervous about speaking English with us. We took photos for at least 20 minutes with 3 school classes. Later we were approached by individuals and interviewed for a university project. During our travels we never had such an experience.
Before you go to Bali, give Java a chance. There you see the real life and Indonesian culture. It is such an incredible island and it has so much to offer. You won’t regret it.
Unlike Java, Bali really is the “Instagram - influencer spot”. The island is very overrun and sometimes really expensive. Food, fuel or accommodations are really cheap, on the other hand, excursions or “photo spots” are sometimes more expensive than in Europe.
Bali is a beautiful island and also has a lot to offer. You can also experience a lot of culture and traditions. Still, many things are being destroyed by tourists. Sure, we're tourists too, but we don't leave trash behind and we don't arrive in a big tourist buses to overrun the whole place.
All in all, we had a great holiday with many great experiences. Since we are used to travel to other atypical areas, Bali was a nice exception. It is also a very beautiful island to explore Southeast Asia for the first time.
We will definitely come back to Indonesia to discover more 💞

Those moments must be the most unforgettable moments in life maybe the next trip, you can visit Sulawesi. Have research first about the beautiful places there. Or Komodo island trip. Spend a week there to take 3 days 2 nights trip by boat.
