@Vici2339 жыл бұрын
+IzzieCookiestar you have to consider that freelee is an activist. She does make content on popular youtubers and celebrities and uses controversial headlines to attract attention. But the misconception is that she does it to get attention for herself. She wants to get attention for her cause. That is very different. I didn't get it at first, but then I watched her videos where she talks about her story of eating disorders, drug abuse, being overweight etc, and now I understand that she is genuinely trying to help.

Hello Mimi, it is so nice to see a popular youtuber having a vegetarian day. I am vegan myself but I dont like to encourage people to go vegan, instead I encourage them to eat one vegetarian dish a week or like you do, to have a vegetarian day a week. It so important to eat vegan one day a week because you get more creative with your feed and you also discover more foods you might love! Dont worry so much about protein though with these foods you got plenty already, but if you eat vegan more often then consider taking B12 supplements. Thanks for sharing!

Every body is different so that means every diet is different. Some people people require more protein than carbs or vice versa. This is a light hearted video, not a nutrition guide. She was not telling you how you should eat. She was simply showing you what she eat and nothing more. There is no need to be passing judgment on what she personally chooses.

I cannot believe people saying you don't need protein! OMG. Protein is irreplaceable! Your hair is made out of freaking protein! Mimi is absolutely right here, if u eat like vegan you need to add as much protein as you can in order to keep ur healthy hair/nails. No vitamins but protein! All together is important but protein for human body is number1!
@dperalta9189 жыл бұрын
I think most of them mean that you don't need as much as you may think. Research shows that you really only need 5-10% of your daily calories to come from protein to be healthy :) most vegans actually exceed this percentage as protein is in many of the veggies, grains, and seeds that we consume on a daily basis. Be well!!
@idontlikegoats9 жыл бұрын
+Nonna D if you are an athlete, then sure. But protein is not as important as all the micro nutrients and vitamins/minerals, which you can obtain from sources other than protein,.
@amirkhan-tl5lp9 жыл бұрын
Omg protein overdose is linked to all sorts of problems e.g heart disease also you only need5-10%protein a day and I agree it is an important nutrient but we don't run of protein alone we need lots of carbs for energy and fag for hormonal balance so potion is important but 100% not irreplaceable.
@veganspace8 жыл бұрын

Lol none vegans be like "but if you don't eat any meat you won't get any protein and you will die", lmao!!!!!
@theodoro899 жыл бұрын
+Ana Teresa Did you see the whole video? If yes, re-watch it and count the macros. There's such a small amount gr of protein in all meals in this video. You need your protein and you need your legumes and lots of them. If you eat like this woman you will need some extra protein shakes to get enough protein. I prefer legumes, oats and groats.

People are nuts. If she didn't mention the word protein and just ate the chia seeds, drunk the protein powder, drunk the almond milk, the non-vegans would have screamed "WHERE'S YOUR PROTEIN, YOU'RE NOT GETTING ENOUGH PROTEIN! PROTEIN, PROTEIN, PROTEIN!" when she did mention the word protein the vegans screamed "STOP WORRYING ABOUT PROTEIN, VEGETABLES HAVE PROTEIN. PROTEIN, PROTEIN, PROTEIN!" You can't win for losing. KZbin has become a cesspool of uneducated know-it-alls and bullies, on both sides. It's a shame.

Freelee be like: Ugh, tiny portion. Unripe banana!! Tea!!!! Drinking tea is a sign that you are not eating enough carbohydrates!!! Carb the f up! Avocado??? That's too high in fat. Stop worrying so much about protein, all you need is carbohydrates. DONT USE PROTEIN POWDER!! Oh well at least it's a plant based protein powder. Not enough carbs!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't eat oil it's so high in fat. Cashews are so high in fat don't eat them. Well at least she's vegan, looks like she took Freelee's advice. Awesome job, Mimi.

That is soooooo true. I'm vegan but Freelee is so annoying
@tatoshkingdom319 жыл бұрын
+Reese Saddler I know right. It's great that she's spreading the vegan message but it's annoying that she is always telling people that they shouldn't eat oil, they shouldn't drink tea, ect. Like can't she stick to just criticising people for eating animal products? Oils and tea are no where nearly as bad as animal products.
@annalenak96919 жыл бұрын

+Annalena K She is also the reason I went vegan. But it doesn't really make sense that everyone should be eating the exact same vegan diet. She did a video on Mimi before and said that it's bad that she is eating nuts, oils, drinking tea, ect. Maybe Freelee doesn't want to drink tea and eat oils but who cares if Mimi eats that stuff as long as it's vegan??

protein, protein, protein.. don't be so concerned with it, no one ever was diagnosed with protein defficiency! It's just a marketing, we need only 5-10% calories from protein in our diet! More people will die from heart disease, strokes, diabetics or obesity than from so called protein deficiency. It is actually more dangerous to eat too much than too little of it. ;) PS Just to avoid any missunderstandings, it's nothing personal, I'm aware that you are not a dietetician and you don't have to know this, but u repeated word "protein" soo many times in this video I just had to write this comment ;) So few people care about vitamin D, E, B etc. but everyone is worrying about protein which is not even a problem, seriously :D
@MimiIkonn9 жыл бұрын
+BeFantasy Well it can be! Many of my vegetarian and vegan friends complain that they have brittle nails and hair fall out...it's all due to protein deficiency. All vitamins as well as protein is important to have a healthy body :)
@estrellavalenz89699 жыл бұрын
+Mimi Ikonn If vegans have brittle nails and hair is falling out, then it is mostly because they are not eating enough, or a variety of foods. Plant based foods have much more protein than meat. Meat is just calories. :)
@BeFantasy9 жыл бұрын
+Mimi Ikonn Well, but were they ever diagnosed with protein deficiency? I mean by a doctor with a blood test? Because I'm 100% sure they lack in many other vitamins and minerals that can cause that type of things ;) I mean, eating just pure protein would not help them, if they eat legumes, chia or whatever we have to have in mind than they're eating much more than just protein by consuming these foods ;)
@SekaiiWorld21219 жыл бұрын
+Mimi Ikonn brittle hair and nails is actually caused by either a lack of vitamin C or vitamin B12 :) not protein deficiency
@megannrichter9 жыл бұрын
+Mimi Ikonn vitamins are more important for your hair than protein. You need your blood to be healthy (with vitamins) so that your scalp is healthy and can grow your hair. There is plenty of protein from raw plants so you don't even need to supplement.

How did your guys' dessert have "no sugar"? Lol it was literally almost completely full of sugar, aside from the few vitamins/minerals the fruits can give you.

why not eat and drink together?
@brookejamieson14039 жыл бұрын
If you have a flavoured drink then it will affect the flavour of your meal.
@dperalta9189 жыл бұрын
Drinking with your meal is not good for digestion :) it dilutes your digestive enzymes making your body have to work harder to break down the food! You should drink 30 minutes before or after! Hope that helps!
@angelicearthling9 жыл бұрын
+Ange Liu Drinking during a meal dilutes the hydrochloric acid in your stomach, which breaks down your food, thus making it harder for your body to digest your meal.

Hi Mimi! You should definitely do more videos like this one! It gives a lot of suggestions on what to cook for healthy meals! Sometimes is so hard to think what to cook, and how to cook it to make it healthy yet delicious!

It makes me so happy to see you and Alex together, you two are so lovely such a dreamteam, that's the way it should be! It's just so difficult nowadays and people get replaced easily. Thank you!

It seems like no matter which channel I go to, I just can't seem to escape the vegan food Nazis...
@purplepuppy21328 жыл бұрын
Adrienne Toth Stupid meat eater, you're the nazi deciding it's okay to kill some animals but love others. Oh the irony, burns doesn't it?
@adriennetoth75868 жыл бұрын
Purple Puppy Do you think you don't kill animals by being vegan? What an idiot!
@rjz97857 жыл бұрын
purple puppy, you know what really is irony? The fact that vegans don't care about bugs and all the people that hurt them. The real irony though, is how many people care more about animals than little humans that can't fend for themselves being pulled apart limb by limb in the womb. I'm okay with people using the vegan diet for their health, but no, if you do it because you say you care about all lives, no you don't.
@RainbowShimmers159 жыл бұрын
Omg yes Mimi, vegan is the best way to go!! So happy to see you eating completely cruelty free! Also, don't worry too much about supplementing protein into your diet, as your body doesn't need a high amount of protein everyday so it is very unlikely for anyone to be "protein deficient" even when eating vegan. Keep it up girl, you're amazing!❤️☺️

Just a word to all vegans: B12
@maarih19919 жыл бұрын
Do some research on that.. Information could open your mind from thinking that meat is necessary.

+Marianna E i didn't talk about meat...i'm talking about the sources of that vitamine
@theodoro899 жыл бұрын
+Marianna E Open your eyes and read the comment more carefully. Nobody talked about meat. B12 is extremely important and vegans are only getting it without fortified foods or supplements. There are vegans who do neither, which is VERY dangerous. All vegans should know about B12, so don't act like it's not important.
@dperalta9189 жыл бұрын
Very true but more than half of all people don't get enough b12, not just vegans :) We all must keep an eye on it! Be well!!!
@moni4eva19 жыл бұрын
+theodoro89 nutritional yeast has b12 and most vegans use it all the time. And b12 is good for 6yrs so vegans are ok

As asian, do many westerns really eat like that? No offense. There's nothing I can call a "cooking". Asians spend so much time for cooking it all seems stupid we do hah! What an easy eating life there! They are all healthy food but the process looks like just instant food like as simple as we make instant ramen.
@Sabrina-sx9fl8 жыл бұрын
I don't see the problem, can you explain it? :)
@radzbites8 жыл бұрын
I see it like that too! Not that there's anything wrong with it, its just that asians tend to spend more time in cooking, cooking the rice/bread, the dish, the vegetables, the curry etc whereas westeners (or at least mimi in this video) spends a much lesser time to prepare food by just sauteeing/baking them and its done! just a difference of perspective and culture i guess :)
