Mimi, the okra dish you made, is basically a classic indian 'Bhindi'. Try adding the mustard seeds when you heat the oil, and let it crackle, then add whatever you have in there. Will make it taste better. Also Bhindi (okra) is my favorite! :)

Some italian pasta tips from an italian young cooker (aka me!): 1) we cook pasta (any kind of pasta) by boiling it in salted water. We wait for the salted water to boil and then we pasta into it and then we drain it after 8 to 10 minutes (time depends on the kind of pasta). 2) if you dress your pasta with a sauce that you need to cook or heat up in a pan you can fry the pasta (already cooked in the water) with the sauce for about a minute. This help mix pasta and sauce very well! Hope you'll try these hacks ❤

@Camy26988 жыл бұрын

Ugh to the people who are saying their "so disappointed" she's not vegan... Pretty sure these videos are supposed to be inspiration and to satisfy some curiosity, not fodder for your judgement. Everyone is entitled to eat what makes them feel healthy and what is right for them. Maybe vegan is ideal in your opinion, I respect that. But as a conscientious pregnant woman Mimi is feeding herself what she feels is best for her and her baby so who are you to tell her what she, another human being, should eat? Are you going to tell her who to vote for and how to raise her baby because you have the most righteous opinions on that too? Ridiculous
@lespatmilescyrusbff8 жыл бұрын
+Sarah Harb I don't think "murdering" animals is ok actually, but I think that everyone (and especially pregnant women) should be left to make their own carefully considered, informed choices about their diet and health without being harassed by strangers. Maybe she eats animal products but doesn't drive a car which is healthier for her because more walking and better for the environment. It's really hard to judge the righteousness of another person's life experience and moral standards

Hey Mimi.. With regards to the okra dish, when I make it, I usually use the ingredients you used, however in a particular order. in a pan with oil, add 1/4th tsp of mustard, once it pops add 1/4tsp cumin seed, let it pop for about a min, then put in the onion let brown a bit, add the tomatoes, and now add 1/8th tsp of turmeric, salt and pepper to taste. In the very end add okra and let it cook. Garnish it with freshly grates coconut and chopped cilantro. Try and let me know how it tastes.

Add cooking oil to the pan 2. when oil is hot, add a spoon of mustard seeds and wait for minute, it ll crack 3. add curry leaves and onion. 4. when onion is brown, ASD tomato, a pinch of turmeric powder (never add full spoon) cumin pepper powders. if u r OK add half a spoon of chilly powder too 3. when raw smell goes off. add okra then salt and sprinkle some oil.. 4. keep in medium flame for 7 mins.. okra will be ready to serve

And here come the vegans. God have mercy. The more you try to corner someone Into becoming what YOU want them to be, the more they are likely to rebel anyway. Veganism is NOT automatically the healthier way to eat, nor is it healthy at all for some people. Yes, get your fruits and veggies, but I am a firm believer that many people need at least a small amount of animal protein. Others can get away with none, at least for awhile. I am so freakin sick of seeing people put effort into videos like this only to be scolded for not being a damn vegan.
@jaynekarinova2568 жыл бұрын
+micky8701 jokes on you because I have studied nutrition, in depth. I am my own walking example of how veganism isn't for everyone. And yes I saw many comments pushing her towards veganism, and not just on this video but her others. My, you are aggressive.
@jaynekarinova2568 жыл бұрын
+micky8701 people are certainly allowed to have an opinion. You are certainly allowed to be vegan. But it's time for the food shaming to stop. It's time to stop pushing one certain way of eating on others. I have seen some vicious comments on videos like this just because a person isn't vegan. I do eat meat, but I have reasons why. I also believe in choosing the most humanely raised meats even if it costs quite a bit more. I am not anti-vegan. I believe in everyone eating in the way that brings them to true health, whether that includes a little animal protein or not. I have read up on many people who were strictly vegan and still developed deficiencies and chronic illness. Then, by incorporating animal protein again , their health came back full circle. Again, I will say, I believe some can sustain great health on a vegan diet but we all have different bodies with different needs, for different reasons.
@jaynekarinova2568 жыл бұрын
+micky8701 I guess I personally don't see near as many attacks on vegans as I see vegans making the attacks. However, this definitely does not include all vegans or vegetarians, so I'm definitely not trying to stereotype. I would prefer for nobody to make attacks either way. Also, in many ways it's not an attack, but people will say something kinda passive-aggressive or find some way to sneakily shame the person who is not following a vegan diet. It all just needs to settle down and people should always choose what helps them be their own personal very best in terms of health and overall well-being.

Love the video. But Mimi please consider additing more animal proteín to your food now that you are pregnant. I have many vegetarian friends that stop beign vegetarians what pregnant because is better for the baby's brain.
@megangottschalk89628 жыл бұрын
+MT SC SO many people eat vegan and veggie diets while pregnant, no one needs meat. Why else do they say veg men ive 9.2 years longer than average and women 7 years or whatever the stat is. As long as you're doing vegan proper (there are some people who don't know how and then wouldn't get the right nutrients) then it is 1000% healthier

This was an interesting video. Just a side note Mimi. when you are making Okra it is usually a good idea to first add the cumin seeds and mustard seeds before the onions as it brings out more flavour. this is the recommended way of making the most out of these spices and it is also the first rule of majority of curries. try it and hope you see the flavour it.brings!
