I'll answer the most asked questions. 1.Why NO Plants? - No plants b/c the oscar doesn't care for it and will uproot and chew up the plants. It'll just be a waste. 2. Doesn't the pleco need sand? - Ok, this one is a little odd for me, since I've kept plecos in many different kinds of tanks before. I never knew people thought plecos need sand. Anyhoo, this particular pleco lives in a rocky bottom in its natural habitat. Here's a video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/h4e6hZislM6Wlc0 3. This tank looks boring b/c there's not much in it? - Yes, this is on purpose. I actually only put the driftwood and rocks for you guys, to tell the truth. There's a chance that I might have to remove everything from the tank when the oscar gets bigger. Maybe this particular oscar will be ok with the deco. Only time will tell.

No Plecos don’t need sand
@zealin17783 жыл бұрын
@@AndyMartin401 Well not all, some do come from sandy/muddy habitat. Is your pleco a wood eater or algae? Ive had common and bristlenose, bristlenoses prefer to eat wood. Not familiar with yours.
@AndyMartin4013 жыл бұрын
Hi. He’s just a common Pleco. About 8 inches long now. Mainly nocturnal, but likes both bog wood and algae. He, I say he, just presuming, loves cucumber and didn’t bat an eyelid, if it has any, when I changed from sand to gravel.
@AndyMartin4013 жыл бұрын
@@zealin1778 I also had a Green Phantom Pleco, beautiful it was but didn’t last long. It seemed happy for a while, got up one morning and it was dead. Tested water, all fine so don’t know why it died.

Your answer to 3.. I feel your pain.... I can't even have fake plants that are easily moved, my female still tears them to pieces but doesn't care if there is hardscape, the male is the complete opposite, hates hardscape but couldn't care less about plants... 🤦♀️🤷♀️ .. and they both are constantly sifting my gravel around and making mountains in the corners. Giant Cichlids..what you gonna do?🤣🤣 Edit: Oh, and I can't wait to see what he looks like, when he gets bigger! Will definitely be a stunner! 💜

I've seen your videos many times before, but you should know I'm only subscribing because your cat's name is Curry. In seriousness, I find your videos really inspiring. We live in Texas, in one of the places that lost power for about a week during our little snowstorm, and we lost our last two fish, a pair of parrot cichlids. Now I have this massive tank that I don't know what to do with, and your content gives me many ideas! Back when my gran was active and had tanks all over the house, she had an oscar that she called The Grouch, and he was alone in a near empty tank as well, because he hated everything. She even had to be careful with what decorative background she used in the tank, because if it was flashy he'd attack it!
