This video shows how I taught sight words as part of a home school curriculum. High frequency sight words are commonly used words that children memorize by sight, so that they can automatically recognize these words without having to use any strategies to decode. These words are a great way to start teaching young kids to read. Once sight words are learned fewer words need to be learned by phonics.
