I was thrilled to find your channel! As a brazilian fellow physician and a parent deeply interested in education, I can relate to your approach. My children attend school, but I have always supplemented their education at home. It's incredibly important to share this kind of knowledge. Thank you for your insights and for promoting such valuable educational strategies.

I would love to hear more about how you & your wife manage to homeschool despite such intensive careers - where/with whom do they go during the day, how much learning do you do at night (like you mentioned), do you do more homeschool on weekends of your days off, etc.

My daughter was learning in a recognisably academic way from like 9 months but my son has been different although of course still very able. Can I ask do you supplement or home educate entirely? If the latter is the case, is childcare the answer? This would be different in the UK where i am but also hugely depends on household income. I would absolutely love your input, Dr Nyame.

I am here to update after a month of consistent teaching/ practicing. He loved the secret handshake thing and he reminds himself when he holds a dry erase marker. I started with my son with simple line letters he can write up to 15 letters and wrote his name! This advice was freaking amazing & it works! Legit my kid can write and identify letters now because I used this video to help. Thank you so much!

I’m a board certified neurosurgeon. I’ve been in the international space station implanting chips inside chimp’s brains. Elon musk and I are friends if it wasn’t clear already. I also cured cancer twice but was paid good money to keep hush. Anyways, just making sure you knew, I think this is an inaccurate learning method. I had a 5.0 gpa in Medschool. The trick is to cram in as much information as possible to ace the tests. I don’t remember a thing since then but the concepts stay in tact. The caffeine helps too, happy learning!

Thank you for uploading this video. I wanted to know how to start homeschooling my child. There are some things that have been thought that have nothing to do with education. They showed my 6 year old a naked white woman breastfeeding a child that's around 7 or 8 and the other side of the woman breast exposed! I asked them what it has to do with school and they claimed it was to teach a child what bonding means! Can you believe it?! Out of all the millions of ways to show a child on how to bond with your parents you chose THIS! I'm so fed up with these hidden agendas!!!! Thank you because I'm starting the process today!!!

This is such good advice! Thank you so much for your chanel. I’m a physician as well and have chosen to spend some time away from traditional practice for now while my kids are so young (ages 5,3 and 1). My oldest does a hybrid homeschool program and it was the best thing we ever did for him. I know we made the right choice and it will pay off! Thank you for speaking on this.

This is a great message. I am happy to see a father so involved in their kids life. I appreciate being able to connect with other fathers that are in the trenches like myself. I have a 6 y/o daughter and 4 y/o son that we home school. I would like to connect with other dads and or parents like you. Ado in Houston.

This is so accurate. I was 13 yo when I left home to go continue my studies in a different country. But, by then, my dad had drilled in my head strong values and principles. I got the attention needed as a young child. With that solid base acquired, teenage peer pressure was never an issue for me as a strong willed teen. I am still thankful for the defining mindset that short period of life created in me, till this day. Now, I am doing the same with my son. Thank you for sharing this important message. Your content is very motivational

I 100% agree with you. I am privileged to be able to homeschool my daughter and I know the fact that she has been home with me for the first 4.5 yrs of her life has made a big impact on her. It provides for a rich relationship between the two of us also. Even if you don't stay at homw with your children, it is important to give them your time and attention whenever you can.

My father a blk retired math teacher use to have me crying as a child at the kitchen table when concerning math my mother use to ask if i was stupid years later in high school. I ask my father who graduated from famu " Dad maybe I can go to college maybe I can do it " he responded iam not college material and I believed him cause my father said it.. my confidence was very low, I told my mother I can be a good dr she responded "I am not smart enough" And at 18 they divorced I've been struggling ever since... It starts in the household. ...

I just discovered your channel. I need more details. Who are you and how did you get into homeschooling? As a fellow homeschooler I am so used to running into moms who are incredibly passionate, but take a very laid back “academics aren’t the goal” approach to the entire thing. Your channel is fascinating to me and I’d love to know more about what your future plans are for education, approaches, and materials.

Did you start with 1 letter at a time until mastery then moved on? Did you work on letters and numbers simultaneously?
@homeschooldoctor22

I would recommend starting with one letter and one number as you teach letters and numbers. The first letter I would start with is the letter “i” . The number I would start with is 1.
