Collin this is the first time I've seen one of your videos. I appreciate the transparency. I love that you talked about working retail while starting your KZbin journey. I'm doing woodworking videos and the video process is a huge process. But it sounds like an awesome life. It's awesome you love what you do and you left the retail world behind. Thanks for the video.

With 70k subs, my biggest challenge as a KZbinr has been accepting the demanding work ethic and consistency required. It's a tough profession for those seeking quick financial relief, but the long-term rewards make the effort worthwhile. Thank you for your transparency. It really helps.

I became unemployed beginning of this year, and have been trying out a DJ project that's been rolling around in my head for a while now. I feel like this is the perfect opportunity for me to pursue it, especially since I'm single and have no kids. I used my leftover money to buy a new camera and some camera equipment, as well as video editing software, and at this point I'm just seeing where this all takes me. Thanks for your story man, very inspiring!

Very interesting. I find your work ethic admirable and your intuitive insight is very exceptional. You've done incredible things for you and your family and I have no doubt that this will continue and flourish in your future. Your enthusiastic approach to doing things really connects you with your audience. You don't come across as some new age, big shot business type, but rather a common man who comes from normalcy and through his own ambition has achieved goals that we all wish to accomplish. Then you share your knowledge and observations with others to help them do the same. Good for you my friend! I can only imagine your future will be bright and rewarding. Keep growing, learning, and teaching as you go and there will be nothing you can't do. I'm behind you all the way. Don't forget me when you're a huge success! Onward to even bigger and better things Collin and all the best to you and yours.

Good stuff. And relatable. 2024 is my first year of being a full time KZbinr (another channel 🤫) And I share the same wins and struggles as you. It’s been AWSOME! But it’s also hard to determine what’s the “norm” and what isn’t since it’s my first year. There are natural ups and downs (depending on your niche) and how the economy is doing in general. Keep it up brotha.

Colin thank you for being vulnerable and transparent. Being self-employed has its challenges; it takes consistency and being all in on your dream daily! Regarding health insurance, I recommend looking into the Affordable Care Act. We've helped many self-employed, 1099, and entrepreneurs with their health insurance and the Marketplace has been a good fit for many of them. I'm not trying to promote or sell, just trying to help!

For the part about insurance, it definitely look into HSA if your family doesn’t use it a lot. For $800-$1000 a month, you can put that money into a health savings account and let it rack up over the years until you really need it. And then you can take it out tax-free later in life when we are all going to need it for our health anyway.

Hmm, maybe its best at this time to do a niche change, and maybe start delegating off tasks so that you can scale more(editing/thumbnail creation) or upskill video editing to make higher viewed higher quality stuff? this definitely was a raw vid maybe the time now is to act like a spider cast a wide net(e.g. experiment) and see what bites, see what doesn't even if its risky.
