I have had a number of Jaguars the last one being a XKR 5ltr 500bhp.I changed this for a 600bhp Bentley Continental convertible .A wonderful car but the nearest specialist was 100 miles away .Repairs were very expensive the last fright was a possible roof control switch which would cost over £1000 !!! Upon retirement bought a 3ltr XF and was impressed with the performance and the economy. Regarding your problems as someone else said it's the angle of the wiper arms (surprised a garage didn't know this) . Cruise control doesn't usually use brakes to slow down going down hill but engine braking , which is limited I guess by the compression on the smaller 2 ltr.

Ive got an XF S in the same, ceasium blue with the black pack, roof and a whole bunch of other options and I have to say its one of the best cars i've had. I love it to bits and wouldn't change it. Its got more than enough power, handles amazing and looks like nothing else...i get a lot of compliments. Make sure you get the InControl touch pro and the right colour(s) and you will be more than happy with it!

Thank you for the good video. I own a Jaguar XF 2.0D, 2018 and I am super satisfied. There are no strange sounds or vibrations and the wipers are silent. I hope you will solve these small but annoying problems.

Hi Bobby have had an early XF Premium Luxury a Jaguar XE R Sport and now have a E Pace out of them all the E Pace is by far the best for lack of issues mind you is an HSE spec still gives you something to review socks and all !!! the spec plays a big part in the quality you receive it shouldn't I know they are all expensive another great review

Just come across this video whilst considering an F pace as the family car. I’ve had a 2017 XF. To be frank Jaguar do take shortcuts where quality matters, it is evident if you ever do any repairs on the car yourself. Having said that, I don’t recall any issues with rattles in the interior or juddering wiper blades. The next car I had was a 520d. The Jaguar handled better along with a softer ride but the 5 series felt like it was built ground up and with quality in mind. My impression was it was next gen luxury compared to the Jaguar.

Juddering wipers is usually caused by the arms being slightly twisted. Only happens in one direction of wipe.
@bobbyfreemandrives83425 ай бұрын
Hi Matt Yes it only happens one way. I might take it to the dealer and tell them to check this. Thanks very much 👍🏻
@mattridgley90955 ай бұрын
@@bobbyfreemandrives8342 Hi Bobby. You can do it yourself. Take the wiper blade off gently twist the arm in the direction it judders (if that makes sense). Use pliers with a cloth around the jaws to avoid marking the wiper arms.

i've had my XF 2016 model 2.0l diesel for a couple of months now. I agree that the performance is quite sluggish for what it is. BUT. Once you don't look at it as a sportscar and consider it a luxury cruiser, your perspective changes a lot. It's not a sport sedan with a luxury feel-it's a luxury car with sporty feeling. Once you change your driving to relaxing, calm and poised, your whole experience changes. My dad now owns a proper sportscar and we drove 2,5 h to get it from another city and then drove 2 cars back the same distance. I gotta say my back has never thanked me more than after buying this jag. Yes- it is not THE most luxurious and soft car you can find. But something with these characteristics of driving, being so planted and sporty yet so soft and comfy- i haven't found in my years. So it's a matter of perspective really. Each car was designed to fulfill some sort of purpose. When you start looking through the lens of this purpose it becomes good at it.

@@bobbyfreemandrives8342 The "each car has a purpose" idea is actually from another youtuber JayEmm on cars. So what if the cars cost the same or have the same specs or have the same power output? It's the way it was intended to be used that's important and 2.0l diesel can feel absolutely different in absolutely every car and manufacturer.

I have a 2016 XF R Sport, by far the most annoying thing is dealing with Jaguar dealers and the made up servicing pricing structure they seem to have, that and the car has no way of telling you the ad blu is getting low so you just get a message saying the car will self destruct in 500 miles (I think this was fixed on later models) other than that a great car with none of the issues you seem to have encountered 😅😅
@bobbyfreemandrives83425 ай бұрын
Hi Chris Thanks so much for your message. Your point about the adblue me laugh! 😂 I agree with you about the dealerships. I’ve had a mixed experience depending on which one o go to. My 2017 XF Prestige 2.0 litre diesel has a sub-menu (which I only found by accident) which tells you how many miles remain before the Adblue runs out. Also, the warning for diminishing Adblue in the reservoir comes up on the instrument panel in stages...basically (1) Getting Low - top up asap, (2) Getting VERY Low - do something about it NOW! (3) If you don`t refill NOW the engine will not restart!

An excellent review. Thank you. The jag premium have fixed all those flaws, esp the wipers. In fact I measured quality of all other cars against the wipers on my 2008 jag xf premium. Nothing compared. I have a 2017 xf r sport now and the wipers r poor but a great car overall, esp the 55-60 mpg plus

2016 model. Doors filled with water, rear footwell also filled from incorrectly fitted a/c drain pipe, 3 months off the road because the dealers could not solve electrics issue, terrible resale value, expensive servicing, absurd and useless sat nav system. It is very comfy on a long drive and looks good.

There is no intrinsic problem with the wipers. Just make sure windscreen is completely free from traffic film or any other left over film, and that the wiper blades are OEM and kept clean. Mine work perfectly as long as I stick to those 'rules'.
@bobbyfreemandrives83425 ай бұрын
Thanks Fraser I do keep the window as clean as possible and the same with the wipers. It’s really strange and I just can’t work out the problem. I currently have Jaguar blades on there but maybe I’ll try OEM ones like you suggested. Thanks for the advice. 👍🏻

@bobbyfreemandrives8342 the car I got was a little down on options, e.g. only part electric seats. I made a lot of content on KZbin (some are removed due to low views), and I tried to add a lot of stuff that I could fit myself and/or are cheap and easy OEM parts for the dealer to install. I did not have your issues with the seats, nor the wipers, I sold it at 98k miles, which given the fact it's an ingenium diesel must be on borrowed time since many habe failed at 70k. That being said I would almost always fill V-Power/Ultimate, give it RedEx shots, and mainly drive it on motorways/dual carriageways
