According to Hoft, to do it in grass you have to dig a 3 ft hole, 6 inch diameter, and fill it with cement. Then you can use fittings to attach. Alternatively, the 96 inch version is meant to be placed in concrete while its setting.

This is something I was wondering about, plus about how to do it on a slope.

I am having issues with the 5/4 inch thick deck boards being too thick for the Hoft fence posts. Should I have bought non pressure treated?
@FamilyDIYtvАй бұрын
they might be to wet and swollen, maybe let the dry out a bit or return and buy dry ones. They should fit..

How strong have they been? I.E using more as a fence, kids climbing on them. Getting hit with soccer balls etc.
@FamilyDIYtv3 ай бұрын
I think the occasional ball would be fine ... but i don't let the kids climb on this, so can't comment on that. I wouldn't suggest that, could loosen up the anchors...

Hello. Thank you for the video. Any reason why we couldn’t use 8ft long boards?
@SuperMage212 ай бұрын
At least according to Hoft they say it only supports up to 6ft, any longer and it's exceeds design specs. I have seen user reviews say it had issues with longer sizes. Hope it helps

what anchors would i use on an existing deck since I cannot lift it and put support boards?
@mattandrandamaly16072 ай бұрын
How deep is your slab to accept the wedge anchors? Mine is only 3.5-4 inches deep and worried about 3 inch wedge anchors being too deep
@emperor1872 ай бұрын
@@mattandrandamaly1607 just use a smaller anchor or tapcon depending on site location. I used a 2 3/4" anchors on my slab and it's held up great in very windy conditions.

My boards warped bad….replaced a lot of them but it’s doing it again :( wondering if we can add a piece behind to try and screw into each board to try and keep them straight and add some additional support

Is there a way to make the horizontal gaps larger, say 2- 3 inches?
@FamilyDIYtvАй бұрын
you could make a custom spacer out of a piece of metal
