$20,000 Minimalist Tiny Beach House in Accra Ghana is a video about me touring a pre-fabricated real estate container house project made in Accra Ghana. This house sits on the beach and was made from engineered wood and currently goes for $190 a night. It was built as an Investment Real Estate Property. In this video, I show you a new innovative way of constructing and owning real estate in Africa. If you have plans of moving to Ghana and owning real estate, this video is for you. Do like watch and enjoy and don’t forget to subscribe.

African KZbinrs - Please wake up and turn your attention to a problem that your generation will have to deal it more - The illegal mining and unruly behavior of foreigners specifically the CHINESE. Some of you have changed from AFRICA to the world to corporate sponsors. One is only covering a house he is building. Africa has bigger problems and the superficial coverage by you guys will only hurt your generation. I appreciate the showcase. What is the showcase if soon AFRICA becomes unhabitable? Do any of you think the Chinese will welcome you in their country to do what they do on our continent. PLEASE start putting a spotlight on this because the African Union or governments are useless. You KZbinrs can reach more people directly. There are more than 10 million Chinese. They are rude and treat Africans badly in their own country. Do you accept that? Start by teaching them how to behave in YOUR COUNTRIES! Wake up and stop doing superficial shit.

Great job Tayo. Contrary to what you think, living in and building tiny homes are actually indigenous to traditional African architecture. The earth-form architecture in Africa mostly focuses on minimalism and social optimisation. For example, the houses are small but compounds are big and tailored to social interactions. In addition, the materials for indigenous African designs are cheap, easily accessible, eco-friendly and suitable for our climate. Colonisation and brainwashing of African designers are some of the reasons for not incorporating indigenous African designs into our present designs. It bears mentioning that Africans mostly inherited building massive houses from our contacts with the West (Europeans) and East (Arabs). One of the issues with modern African architecture is that only a few African architects incorporate indigenous African architecture into their designs. Not many African designers are like Demas Nwoko, the Nigerian architect of Igbo origin who incorporates Igbo Architecture in his designs. Most of his architectural designs can be found in Ibadan and Delta (Idumuje-Ugboko). Unlike Nwoko, most African designers with Western education often buy into the idea that African architecture is "vernacular architecture". In fact, vernacular architecture is the term used in Western practices to describe traditional African structure and designs. To me, the term seems derogatory and could indirectly make African designers see the knowledge of their ancestors as being inferior.

I agree with you except your take on the term ' vernacular architecture". Vernacular architecture is not synonymous to African architecture. It is basically any kind of architecture that has to do with the use of local or indigenous building techniques and materials associated with every region. So locally inspired African, Asian, Middle Eastern ,American, European architecture all fall under vernacular architecture.

Beautiful, but too expensive for a tiny home. Based on the average income in Ghana, the people living there cannot afford to enjoy this rental, especially when they do not earn $200 per month. Africa need to build affordable housing for the people, not just to attract temporary visits from foreigners. .

Is everything built for the average income earner where you live? Aren't there different market segments where you live, so that you go for what your income allows you to have? I always struggle to understand why people make these sweeping generalisations. There're people in Ghana who make way more than the figure you mentione, just as there're those who don't make that. Every real estate project cannot be so-called 'affordable' as people always shout about on these real estate videos. Every product or service cannot be targeted at all market segments. The average Ghanaian buys his land and builds gradually, at his own pace. Don't fault business people for targeting the segment of the market they choose. All fingers are not equal, as we say in Ghana.

Micheal Blankson said houses in Ghana cost much more than even better ones in Atlanta, USA and we all know that’s true. Houses in Ghana are overpriced and more expensive than better houses in other advanced countries. Ghana is in the category of the first 5 places with the most expensive Hotel Rates across the world and come to think of it our hotels are not any better than those found in Europe, America, Southern or Eastern Africa. 200 dollars per night is nearly 1200 cedis, that’s half the monthly salary for the middle class in Ghana; including nurses, fire fighters, teachers, bankers, junior medical officers. Even you acting all big and tough in your comments can’t visit this place twice in a month. If it must take half the salary of these professionals to spend just one night at such a place does it make any economic sense, and what about the average income earner. She made sense and if you have nothing better to add just shush and allow others have an opinion.

@@megzholy3891 what makes you think you have anything better to add than we do? Everywhere in this world, prices of real estate depend on where they're located and other factors. But immediately a KZbinr puts a property here from Ghana, u people start shouting it's too expensive, without recourse to any pricing factors. For example, what is the cost of borrowing in Ghana as compared to the countries you're comparing with? And when you see a property in East legon, however ordinary that property may look, being priced so high, you should ask yourself what's the value of the land alone on which the property sits. The same expensive Ghana has properties going for $50,000. All fingers, as we say, are not the same. You go for what's within your means. Even when it comes to rent, I hear people shouting a lot here. Of course, if you don't know the market, and if you want to live in a 'plush' area, in Ghanaian terms, you're gonna have to pay some good money. But you and I know you can get a decent two-bedroom apartment for between GHS800 and GHS1000 today in a place that won't even be too bad. And oo, use real estate prices to make real estate arguments, and leave hotel rate arguments where they belong. But even when it comes to hotel rates, there're factors. Find a copy of today's edition of the Business Outlook newspaper and read. And be nice. Peace out ✌️.

Awesome content with Vanessa Kanbi. I would love to see more collaborations between African content creators. We all have the power to tell our stories. Honestly, if we can have a stable economy in various countries of Africa, we could one day be talking of a currency on par with the U.S Dollars and other stable-ish currencies. More wins for Africa.
