@@tayokarate what are you talking about. Trailers are cheaper than buying a house. That's why people buy it especially if they already have a land. With a quarter plot of land and a few extra naira, you can easily become a home owner in any part of Nigeria. And I find it remarkably interesting that some are already on this. We need to help the future generations by conserving the shrinking resources we have got.

This is great we really need to start investing more in affordable housing in Nigeria because the average Nigerian does not earn enough to live in all this expensive real estate craziness that is going on in Nigeria at the moment. Plus I am all for recycling and reusing materials. This looks like a good alternative to brick houses
@henry51183 жыл бұрын
Voila!!! The comment I've been looking for. I think there's already more than enough high end real estate in Nigeria, the real Nigerians need homes too. Excellent video btw.
@Danorous3 жыл бұрын
Bcos you don't earn enough does mean the real estate is crazy. There are thousands of people buying them
@nkjv123 жыл бұрын
@@Danorous Yes thousands of people are buying it and what percentage of the Nigerian population does that equate to. All I'm saying is there should be a balance between luxury apartments and more affordable accommodations, because if it costs so much millions to buy this houses, for you to get a reasonable return the rental price will have to be very high. Don't really care about the thousands that can afford it more worried that a lot of Nigerians live in very inhabitable conditions which continues to result in mass spread of diseases. This is something I am really passionate about and really want to do once I have saved up enough money and move back to Nigeria. If there is anything I have learnt about Nigeria this year is that we Nigerians must be the change we want to see because we have clearly seen that if we wait for the government to do all this things we will be waiting for the next 200 years.
@henry51183 жыл бұрын

Tiny houses are great, cheap and often quick to build. However, I think building a container house in Lagos would prove very expensive on the long run. Lagos is hot, and building with steal is magnifying that heat, therefore you would need to constantly run ACs to keep the temperature down. You see how the Architect himself is sweating in the home? I think wood house is the way to go if you want to build compact homes in Lagos.

KZbin works in a mysterious way. I just finished watch a video series about the impracticality of container home, and tiny home. They only look good, but are terrible for living.

Sharing your points around what the arguments for such were, would be informative as you’ve dropped this comment here too.

My thought is how do you take care of rusting of the container.

@@1anre Mate if I have to explain everything here, it would be a long essay with too much technicalities. Just google the channel “Belinda Carr”, she explained this matter better than anyone else .

@@tobiscookingdiary That’s just one of the problems, and then add the chemicals that are used to make those containers. It’s just not worth it. A traditional house might cost a bit more in the beginning, but it will last longer and have a better resale value.

Finally someone coming up with tiny home in Africa, this is brilliant guys. Keep on building, so those who can’t afford hundreds thousand dollars homes can own a comfortable space to live at. I’m beyond excited 🤩🤩🎊

I've always loved tiny houses like this. Price seems cool too. This is great. However I noticed he's using a standing fan and an AC as well. This suggests cooling might be a bit of a concern.

If you leave the metal structure bare, it will heat in the sun just like a car. Some form of insulation is necessary.

This is soooo nice!! And not so expensive you can have a family of 4 here. The biggest disadvantage is the land rent. You can get kicked out if you don’t pay land rent.
