Couldn't agree more with successfully "finishing one spot motivates one to do more!". I've gone through my house and got rid of any extra decor pillow inserts. I had some pillows that were not made with covers but my dry cleaners has alteration services and they've agreed to put in zippers making them into covers. They kept the stuffing and I got those covers now. No more pillow storage! Enjoyed the video very much! Thank you for sharing your ideas!

Welcome to America when organizers are most expensive than the things you need to organize!! A few years ago when all this fever about organizing and the Mary Kondo method showed up I decided to tackle the issue until I realize that it was cheaper just to get rid of most of my possessions leaving just what it's really necessary and voila!! Lots and lots of space, closets organized, less drawers and furniture, less pantries, freezers, pots pans and kitchen gadgets, refrigerators, less "decoration and accessories" you name it. I love my house now, clean efficient, organized, minimalist. I really enjoy it. For instance: Do this woman really need to have all those pillows?? All my friends have an average of 30 pairs of socks, 30- 60 panties, 20 jeans, 20 sweaters, 5-7 winter jackets, 40-60 T-shirts, 60 pair of shoes.... lots and lots of sheets, make up, etc. My 5 cents here: Have less and be happier!

I think many of us just keep getting new things without getting rid of old things. Our stuff accumulates gradually without us realizing it, until suddenly we're overwhelmed. I've been decluttering recently. With every full trash bag that leaves my home, I feel a little more peace.

Just an FYI, that little vacuum pump is for traveling . You can use your vacuum from home it's so much easier, just connect the hose attachment and you're golden.

Best organization is decluttering and minimizing. Vacuum seal bags from the DT works great, keeps dust out AND fits perfectly under the bed:)

I use the dollar tree vacuum seal bags. I use them for comforters, sheets and beach towels. We’re doing a major purge at our house because we have too much stuff!

Decluttering should always come first. Otherwise you're paying for needless organisational tools. I think the main thing is mindfulness. Chosen carefully these tools can be super helpful.

I transfer all our flavored potato and tortilla chips into 2 gallon ziplock bags. Allows us to reseal them without clunky clips. Problem was how to store them in the pantry. Then I bought the acrylic shelf dividers. Slid those on the pantry shelf and each chip bag slides into the slots made with the dividers. Works perfect.

I used zip closed binders for my 4 kids to hold the school papers I wanted to keep. I also had medium sized containers for each of my kids to put the binders in and anything else we had saved over the years then when they all moved you got their totes. I decluttered my house several years ago and it was like a weight lifted. So satisfying

Hi Emily, For my Christmas Pillows and Blankets - I have space bags, once I wash all the Christmas Pillows + Blankets I put them in a large space bag and vacuum it down. This makes tons of space in my Christmas/Winter bins for all the decorations.

Emily this was a fantastic video. In 2020 during the lockdown I went through our closets and there was one that I think either the stiff boxes for the clear dividers would help. So much helpful information though for my drawers. This month I hope to get started and declutter. I did a few kitchen cabinets already, unplanned, just ended up it that way, but glad they are done. The silicone bags you use for games...I went through all my paper pictures & put in these bags by person or family. Took me a week but it's dkne & organized. Put all the bags in a plastic bin with a lid. All organized & I feel so much better.

One option would be to use hangers with metal clips which are usually used for skirts and pants. The metal clips are basically clothespins and can be clipped onto the edge of vacuum seal bags.

Here’s an idea for your pillows. I use the vacuum attachment and put into ziplock, suck the air out until their flat as a pancake and store.
