Tactical Breach Wizards is the best one I've played last year. Strong tactics gameplay, and possibly the best one story and narration-wise I've seen in a long time.

The Lamptlighters League is missing on that list. It's no longer a bugfest, it looks gorgeous on 4K on PC and it is also very playable on Xbox. And the characters are actually very interesting. And it has one of the greatest soundtracks in gaming history.

The problem i have finding a replacement to xcom 2 is the modding. What i love about it is the modding scene and almost none of the games have that. I also don't have confidence that an xcom 3 would actually have modding support with the way the gaming industry has changed since then.

Yeah, no. Take a fully fleshed out trpg, take out the story, magic, plot of any kind and make it on a shoestring budget. That's wartales.

Don't like battle bros much. Wartales has a more character driven story , you want to keep your mercs alive for plot, not because they are hard to relevel.

Funny part is I have played most of these games, but I am quite surprised you included Warhammer 40k Chaos Gate. Not many in the Warhammer community heard of that game, only Mechanicus. Chaos Gate feels like, it's a straight copied paper from his classmate XCOM 2. Nice list.

@squadron6090 - Corruption 2029!! 😅 I remember playing the first couple of missions on that ages back 😀 It was around 2020 during one of the lockdowns I think, and was possibly the first game that I ever actually paid for on the Epic Games store 🤔 At the time, it wasn't available on Steam - not sure if it is even now? 🤷‍♂️ Some time later, while playing Mutant Year Zero, the gameplay and UI really reminded of C2029, except that my squad in that wasn't composed of ducks and pigs! 😆 Possibly the same developers made both?? I also bought Miasma Chronicles last year sometime maybe, but haven't tried that one yet - but the trailer gave me the same kinda vibe as the other two games 😂
