I live in Austin, I’ve been to most of these! There’s this traditional Italian pizza place called Desanos. I think it’s even better than pint house pizza!

Just wanted to say: I went to Austin 6 weeks ago, and have to recommend Emmer and Rye, just off Rainey Street. My wife and I will still be talking about that meal in 10 years, I swear. Plus, it's a "farm-to-fork" restaurant; they grow/make most of their raw ingredients themselves, and if they can't then it's mostly locally sourced. The menu was beautifully curated, the enthusiasm of he waiting staff was infections, and the chefs' obvious attention to details really shows up in the results. I can't recommend it highly enough. Austin is a growing and vibrant city; and I doubt that I will ever get back there. But I remember it fondly. Especially the Austin Country Flea Market, and, of course, ironworks! (and Charlotte!)

"...hard to come up with the objectively best pizza in Austin..." No it's not, it's Home Slice. Interesting, so many places southside. It's not a bad list but that Odd Duck isn't on it is odd. As for another entry into the nice back yard I'd mention The Little Darlin' as well as Moontower but there you're dealing with food trucks. Must also mention Red Ash, and Uchi and their partnership with Franklin's at Loro and for BBQ Terry Black's needs a note. Anything Jack Allen which includes Salt Traders.

Number 5 in America for bird bird biscuit??? So extremely overrated. Sandwich is not balanced. Biscuit overpowers even the fried chicken. Ratio is just off. Wow. Number 5???
