You know he’s a real one by the nonchalant “finished up some trim on a bathroom been putting off for 20 years!” 😂. But found this saw also for a steal, great video. Thanks sir

I watched 7 videos just to figure out how to unlock the arm, my grandfather's miter saw runs, but couldn't get it to lift up.

I got the same model in a thrift store today for $25. Mine quickly and smoothly changes angle.

Right about the time you posted this, I found the same model at a thrift store for a similar price. Mine has been through the war, so to speak, so I think you got the better deal. But for a tool I almost never need, it was definitely the right price. 😂

Can across your video. Very good. I to came across the same model on eBay a couple of days ago, and your review will definitely help me maintain and use my Delta safely. Thank you for taking the time. Most people review new machines and it can be hard to find new reviews on old working items.

To change the blade you simply loosen the front bolt on guard and everything will swing clear of the arbor bolt.

Thank you! I'm changing the blade today, so that's a big help.

Just bought this same saw from a thrift store, also for $20. There must be dust in the sliding surfaces or something else wrong with your mitre adjustment, mine is far smoother to adjust.

Some lubrication has fixed that. The little steel balls had rust on them.

I have the exact same one

I'm having a hard time finding a suitable replacement blade. The hook angle is too extreme on all of the 8 inch blades I've seen. Which blade are you using? Thanks!

Is blade nut left hand thread?

For the plastic guard do you know any places the supply the kit, or any replacement parts? I found one that still works but the guard mechanism as well as an ebay bid for a lever part but I've been stumped since. I would like to get it working since it was free as well but definitely still works.

Should be thickness and diameter of the washers, and bolt size.

Just came across one. The blade bolt and washers are missing. Anyone know what size the bolt is? Looks like a 24 tpi about 3/4" long?? Would appreciate knowing thickness and diameter and of blade (are there 2 or 1) washers and exact bolt size, and if the blot is a left hand thread?

Link to manual: www.mikestools.com/ownersmanuals/DeltaMiterSaws/36-040.pdf and parts diagram: www.ereplacementparts.com/delta-36040-type-miter-saw-parts-c-3275_3503_14220.html Blade bolt shows discontinued, but it does give part numbers where a search may find the right parts

Thanks for the links. Nowhere in stock, no longer available. Next time you remove the blade can you check the thread size of the bolt and the diameter and thickness of both washers. Appreciate the help.
