Slips for undergarments are difficult to find atm. Slips actually allow garments to fall beautifully around our bodies. They are modern petticoats. 🎉🎉🎉

The solution to the dress cling to tights: put your tights on and then put put some hand/body lotion in your hands and use it to smooth it over the tights. Don’t forget to cover the back too. It neither shows nor ruins your tights. PS. Love your channel!

This video was so good. We all needed this. I have 3 pair of lyocell joggers for summer. I'm a senior and don't wear shorts ( have 2 pair for dog walks only ) and have several slightly heavier weight joggers for winter walks. I am so with you on polyester. I won't buy it at all. Not even if it's a blend. I'm in a hot climate and denim, cotton and linen are my go to fabrics; however, I do have a few viscose or rayon tops...and the lyocell joggers. I'm going to watch your video again so more comments later. Thank you so much for an outstanding video!

Hi Carol! Thank you so much for this detailed comment. I am glad to see I'm not the only one with too many of the same item in my closet. The journey for better fabrics is a lifelong one isn't it? One day at a time, one garment at a time. Please do share, I read all of them. Take care ☺

Here’s a weird thing, I’m a Jazzercise instructor so I have to wear tank tops, and even after sweating a class I noticed that the deodorant stick in my cabinet NEEEEVER goes away. I just can’t even remember the last time I actually needed to use it. There was something I always overlooked before becoming old (menopause/hormone chaos) and coming home from the doctor one day with a sudden looooooong list of diet rules. Evidently B O is actually NOT natural and something we need to just accept. It’s a symptom of poorly managed health. My eczema doesn’t seem to exist anymore either. I just had to cut out all the processed/junk foods (and in my case a lot of other things).

Hi! this is such great feedback. Yes ,sweating is natural, I just like to smell clean and with perfume all the time. I also workout during lunch time so refreshing is a must for me. Hormones and the cycle timing also plays a role and I most definitely don't eat as clean as I could 😅. I am so glad to hear that there is a better, cleaner way. Sounds like you had quite the journey and have reached a better place. Well done!

I just discovered your videos, and I'm enjoying them. Your advice is solid and definitely relevant. I agree with you about sales--you have to do some research to find out why an expensive item has been marked down by checking the ratings. Even a great store like Norstrom makes this mistake more often than not. I do disagree with you about elastic waist pants. I am in the process of losing weight and am between sizes. Pull-on pants are a blessing at this point because they adjust as I change. I always wear something blousy with them because they just don't look good on me that way. I bought a really cute tie-dye shirt with a knot in the front, and I love it. The colors are faded navy and grey on a white background; not too loud, and it's great for our hot weather. I'm interested to see what else you offer in the videos!

Hi Susan! Welcome to my channel ☺️ thank you for sharing your thoughts on this topic. I like to hear examples when fashion choices work out. And great job on the journey of losing weight, it's not an easy one. I can see how elastic waistbands fit you well. Of course my examples are what work for me and I don't assume they work for everyone. I too have the jeggings. I just don't feel as elegant and put together in them because they feel too sporty. Depends on the activity we wear them for I suppose. Enjoy your flowy top too, sometimes we don't want to put it all out there and the tight bottoms balance out the top volume. Keep going you are doing great 😃

I have a lot of wool and silk clothes which I wash by hand, but I use the spin dry to get the water out. I have always worn woolen pant that I have sewn myself. Pre washing the fabric, before cutting it out ensures that it doesn't shrink when I wash the completed pants.
@Chicquette
@Chicquette Жыл бұрын
Hi Chris! Wow some gems in here for us. Thank you for sharing. How I wish I made my own clothes. Prewashing is a very thoughtful and practical idea. Most shrink because we don't read the label. Thanks again 😘

@@Chicquette Washing woolen trousers is not a big job at all. It is when you have to iron them and get the centre front creases in, that you begin to regret not sending them to the dry cleaners. If I was a more average shape, and I didn't have such a fondness for wool and silk, I would buy more of my clothes ready made. They are so cheap now.

@@chriswatson1698 I hear you. I am growing my tolerance to steaming but the folds, or thick cotton to steam for 40+ minutes 🙄 not fun. And those are also the pieces I don't reach for as often because of it.

I only have 2 joggers, but they are the nicer ones you can dress up, I don't like masculine, frumpy joggers or baggy cargo style. I have seriously decreased the amount of clothing I own simply because it's a waste of time, money & energy. We only wear about 20% of our clothes anyway,so why have too much? And like you, I am becoming more conscious of materials, how clothes fit my body & my own tastes. So, less and higher quality!
@Chicquette
@Chicquette Жыл бұрын
Yes! Absolutely, less is more. I've also come to terms with liking items that I don't necessarily need to buy. I can just enjoy them for a few minutes on display or on someone else and move on. Our own closets are full as is. Trim down more or rotate between closets/ seasons and you get the same new feeling for free. I am also becoming more and more aware of the waste we produce with clothing. And all of the sudden making a purchase to start the cycle of decisions around that one item is becoming heavier to make. Definitely need to think twice before adding. Thank you for watching and sharing Tennille! 😘

i don't have a slip-on but it seems a good idea bc linings are usually polyester even when the shell is not. so i usually just cut them out, especially from summer dresses.
@Chicquette

Interesting! I don't think I've thought about removing the lining. I usually look at all the details of what materials are used. Indeed most are polyester. Well made garments don't go half way most times. Will definitely look into the slip for this summer with linen dresses. Thank you for sharing 🫶

You had me until you mentioned wearing scent. i wore a light scent for years but quit when I developed a sensitivity. Many workplaces now have a scent free policy. One other comment - cargo pants are only for the very young IMO.
@Chicquette
@Chicquette Жыл бұрын
Hi Sheila! Very interesting comment on the scent. It probably sounds like I bathe in perfume lol. I try to be mindful that a little goes a long way, definitely don't reapply during the day. I do wish I saw the work environment inforce more on this note. Because I have indeed a male coworker who overdoes it, and you can smell him from the elevator. By the time he's next to me it's nauseating. Luckily it's doesn't last more than an hour but yes, overdoing it is also a faux pas. Thank you for sharing! Did I mention cargo in this video? Don't recall ☺️

Hi Pat! I hear you. I've experienced the same weight gain and the clothes don't fit the same anymore. I recommend biting the bullet and just sizing up in a comfortable pair.
