Rather than a simulation (Elysian Realm), I think the more plausible possibility is a time loop. As we know, Phainon has been promoted as the "main character" of Amphoreus by the devs countless times. I'm talking about teaser, trailer, opening, story, etc. As far as I'm aware, they've never done this with other characters before. So, here comes a wild theory of mine. I think that *Phainon is the center of Amphoreus* , or rather, what's keeping it "alive". First of all, I agree with the comments that said Phainon knew the destiny of Amphoreus. I'm going to add that he probably even witnessed the "end" of Amphoreus multiple times. Yet he somehow managed to return to the past, or *return Amphoreus itself to the past* , presumably with Fuli's help. And currently he is trying all kinds of possibility to save Amphoreus (example; as pointed by other comments, taking the coreflame of Strife that should belong to Mydei). Next, there's a certain lore mechanism unique to Amphoreus that was revealed near the end of the 3.0 story. I'm talking about the book, *"As I've Written"* . Inside of it, there is a recollection of backstory regarding the Chrysos Heirs. But the interesting part of the book that is really easy to overlook, is that it's written in the style of a journal. Phainon's journal, to be exact. How could we know that it's written by Phainon? One of the proof was that when reading Mydei's backstory, Mydei refers to the writer as *amateur historian* , which is one of his nicknames for Phainon. The title itself, As I've Written, is a past tense. Implying that *the writer had already met the Crysos Heirs before* . I'm not sure if the current Phainon has the memory of future Phainon, but I think he only has partial recollections of the future, and will slowly gain back his memories as the story progress, depicted by the journal. Lastly, it's not impossible that future Phainon is actually the one behind the prophecy to gather the Gods' coreflame. Phainon noted down characters with potential in his journal, and indirectly gathers those people to inherit the Coreflames. Though, the flaw with all these theories I wrote is that I still don't know what is the role of Nous and the mysterious 3rd Aeon in Amphoreus' destiny lol. Thx for reading btw!

Since Remembrance and Fuli is involved, I always think that Amphoreus is a lost world destroyed by presumably the third Aeon, and Fuli wants to restore it by allowing us to have the power of "rewrite" destiny of the planet so it survives. As in, the current Amphoreus is just a memory, free to be messed with (as in rewriting enough so Amphoreus can escape from being destroyed). I always think Mydei should be the one who gets the Coreflame of Strife, but it's Phainon who goes into the trial? I think he knows something and wants to tries different Coreflames to change destiny of Amphoreus. It doesn't have to be a 4th wall break. Almost everything that seems video game-y can also be explained by Fuli or Nous helping/interfering. PS. If Fuli is struggling to keep this world, then maybe the 3rd Aeon is Mythus? Something causes the "black tide", and I can't tell which Aeon causes that.

We also get hints that Amphoreus has already been destroyed once. It makes sense for Fuli to come to rescue because they have intervened in dying worlds in the past just to collect their memories. As for Mythus, it also makes sense if Amphoreus is certain to be destroyed again, then it needs to have a possibility of survival.

I think Amphoreus is a group project started by Fuli (Remembrance), Nous (Erudition), and Enigmata (Mythus). A project to understand how mortals or ideas ascend to divinity. Amphoreus is already destroyed so the three aeons decided to create a simulation of the events that occurred. The simulated history of Amphoreus is now in an endless loop in order to see different outcomes, possibilities, and results. In other words, Amphoreus is an Aeon experiment. The Trailblazers of the Astral Express are likely drawn into the experiment to observe what outcomes arise when heroic outsiders intervene to support the native heroes of Amphoreus. In Ancient Greek mythology, there are five ages of mankind: the Golden Age, the Silver Age, the Bronze Age, the Age of Heroes, and the Iron Age. The current storyline is likely set at the end of the Age of Heroes, transitioning into the dawn of the Iron Age.

I'd say the simulation is a Garden of Recollection project (since you can reach it only using their mirrors), March 7th is an escaped research subject, and Black Swan was sent to retrieve/dispose of her, judging how she tries to earn the Express' trust, how insistent she was for the crew to travel to Amphoreus (a place only she heard about) and how she's nowhere to be found (not even warning others) while March is getting entombed in the six-phased ice. Of course, she might've gone looking for her Memokeeper friends to help with that, since March is obviously connected to Remembrance, but there's also Herta saying that "perhaps, those Garden folks lied to you".

@ To be fair, Nous is not above withholding classified information from their followers. This is evident from the fact that Herta, an Emanator of Erudition, struggles to contact Nous, implying that Droidhead communicates with their followers only on their own terms. In contrast, Fuli might be more transparent and forthcoming with the memokeepers. Alternatively, Fuli may have wanted Black Swan to bring the Trailblazers to Amphoreus for the experiment. It’s worth noting that Black Swan is a known manipulator, as evidenced by her scheming with Aventurine in Penacony.

Tho I always interpreted Herta struggling to contact Nous as the Universe itself getting in the way - constantly "throwing in" events to prevent her from posing a question that might attract Polka's attention. Her whole theme of whether the Universe is orderly or chaotic (also she shares this theme with Sunday's idea of Ena's Dream, where laws of the Universe are completely known and understood by humanity) is practically reiteration of Einstein's "God does not play dice" when he was discussing events, possibilities, causes and effects (which are tightly connected to a term *Light cone* used in the theory of relativity btw).

I wanna try and add some points to what you said: 4.The allegory of the cave really is a perfect depiction of amphoreus' situation! There are two puzzles related to shadows and their overlapping... The greek stories of inevitable prophecies and of course,sisyphus' cycle of pushing up a boulder just for it to fall again (we do that a lot ourselves in the puzzles even!) 6. I do think the standoff is between erudition, enigmata, and rememberance; i think Finality is concerned with the script of the greater picture; hsr universe seems to be in a kind of bigger loop, much like amphoreus; 8. I think dan heng was *reverted* to its original form, fitting for all the rememberance-themed stuff that happens all around us 15. Cyrenes voice does sound a lot likemarchs doesnt it...? No? Complete fan fiction, but it’d be interesting if the conclusion we have to avoid isn’t the world “ending” but it being “saved”. Like, if the Flamechasers collect all the Coreflames and win, the game “ends”, so in a way, everyone loses anyway. I love the idea that someone else mentioned that Phainon is aware of some timeloop and is trying to avert it by getting a different Coreflame. If Kephale is sky-father, and Fuli is also Sky-Father, and Phainon inherits Kephale’s coreflames, it’d definitely make him Ice Element like Kevin in HI3. I’m sure Phainon is different somehow, maybe an Emanator, or the “player”, meant to ascend to Aeonhood.

If this follows somehow the trails of HI3, it will likely be that Amphoreus is blocked in a continuous samsara (thus the infinity symbol as it “physical appereance”) and the power given by Fuli will somehow help to write a final path that will break this eternal cycle. Maybe the Aeons are trying to simulate which path or “decision” is better to avoid the planet annihilation, since the third path may be Finality, they are trying to bring an end to all, but Nous and Fuli are trying to keep it safe from total destruction and that’s why it seems a sort of “simulation”, because they are like “frozen” in a simulation made by Nous to determine how to avoid the bitter end. Or maybe I’m just dumb and it is everything a March’s nightmare. 😷

HSR has a ton of 4th wall breaking all over it, before Amphoreous aswell. At first it just seems like lighthearted fun (and some of it probably is), but also maybe... its just a subtle hint towards the nature of the world. There's also a distinct "narrator" character who follows your adventures and who you can sometimes "interact" with, or atleast listen to in many of the unmarked quests, and hidden dialogues and interactions. Now again, it could just be a way for the devs to have some fun and talk to the players directly. But if you look at it from the "simulation" theory perspective... it suddenly begins to feel a little bit more existential...

That's also why Strife, even when corrupted, still wants to destroy Kephale. Chrysos Heirs unknowingly derives their power from The Destruction that's why they also have the golden markings near the chest/neck area similar to Fugue after she got tainted by Phantylia. The planet looks like a *Mobius strip* and black tide looks like some glitch. Amphoreus has parallels to Elysia realm and flame chasers so I think it's safe to assume this place is either a simulation or like planet size memory bubble that's being corrupted or something

Edit: My theory on which Aeon is the 3rd involved in Amphoreus is definitely Mythus of Enigmata. If you dig deeper into lore, Erudition -Enigmata - Remembrance are like tri elements in a game of weakness over strength to one another.

Have you noticed how the nymphs we catch always end up revealing as error bugs and emoticons?, also adding to the fact that when you want to get to a zone off limits in Marmoreal Market, a messages procs, saying that "This is a sandbox game with the perspective of one single person" or something like that, it's quite eerie, when you try and get in an off zone limits in any other world, they all say the same "The area ahead is unavailable". Also, I don't know if it's because my phone ain't that powerful, but has anyone noticed how some structures on the game start glitching all of a sudden, as if it would be in a simulation?, it only happens on Amphoreus, not in any other map, it's intriguing if anything.

Maybe March 7th used to be a game designer? Oronyx really didn't want to help us, we snap a picture using March's camera, and Oronyx immediately goes: 'Mommy, is that you?' Additionally, I am a bit worried about the sun Kephale is bearing on it's back. It is a golden light. What else do we know that manifests as a sun-like sphere of golden light? Are we certain that is not a Stellaron? They would not be the first trying to power something with a Stellaron. We have already seen the result of Titans and Titankin being driven insane, but we haven't actually seen the monsters of the Dark Tide yet. Maybe those will be very similar to Fragmentum creatures?

That reminds me of a particular episode from Loonatics Unleashed. Ace in particular is living through several deja vu until he and Tech discovered that the grandfather of that episode's villain caused those deja vu in hopes of stopping his grandson. It may be possible that Fuli and Nous were collaborating the same way trying to save Amphoreus from that fate. Though I'm not sure about the third Aeon involved.

Tbh for the ones who have played HI3 and went thru the Flame Chaser arc, already have had a feeling Amphoreus is fake considering the Chrysos Heirs are the same as the Flame Chasers(esp cuz the devs themselves keep mentioning the word “flame chase”) and that they lived in a simulation called “Elysian Realm”. Anyway for those who didn’t/don’t play HI3, it should be obvious enough with the black tide looking like corrupted data as well as the nymph bugs with their kaomojis. Even within the story itself there’s talk of games & the internet. Example being when TB saying to Dan Heng they should’ve gotten a game to play offline & Aglaea’s golden strings being like a network for communication & whatnot. On the side note, I think the Stellaron is actually the Dawn Device that Kephale is holding on his back & the golden markings on Aglaea & Phainon are the Marks of Destruction like what Fugue/Tingyun has on her body.

Well of course there's a stellaron involved. Considering that with Penacony we're 4 for 4 with these things causing trouble (yes I am counting Herta's Space Station and yes it was technically responsible for the legion's invasion), I would be shocked if a stellaron wasn't somewhere on Amphoreus. I'm even willing to bet it's actually the Dawn Device on Kephale's back, considering how it has a very similar glow to the space behind the Grand Theatre curtain (which Sunday himself confirmed was Penacony's stellaron).

In that image of Phainon’s past where Cyrene got stabbed, she bleeds gold, same as the Titans. I wonder if this used to be a world where she was the creator and only god, the 13th Titan like mentioned in the in game texts. But when the people found out the truth about the world being a simulation, she made the 12 Titans, and took a backseat. I’m 90% sure Mem is a part of Cyrene, so maybe that’s her “sleeping” form that she remains in after that incident. Also, I’m probably wrong, but something about Cyrene and March being the same person doesn’t quite line up for me, even though it seems like the most popular theory at the moment. I guess it works if Cyrene is the original, and March is her Memetic lifeform version? But I somehow feels like the two will act independently, at least for a while.

Interesting theory, i put the zone message down to humour from the devs to explain lazyness of placing zone boundaries we cant enter, there are lots of references to space and quantum mechanics littered around the game. It would be a tragedy if the people of amphoreus found out they werent real and the climax of the story was a "wipe" when they learned things they werent supposed to like space flight. What are your thoughts on dr ratio being connected to here, does anyone find his stone statues and design to be linked to the stone units of castrum krenos? Its as if he got smart and left the simulation/world somehow with his knowledge.

Off topic, but I am really curious about this topic that I want to pick on the brains of every HSR lore buff that is gathered here in this video's comment section. I want to ask about IX and Nous, or rather, the implication on the Trailblazer should or maybe when they eventually gain their gaze/recognition and unlock their path. For Nous, if the Trailblazer gains THEIR recognition, do you guys think that means they would be admitted into the Genius Society? So far, those that are recognized/gazed upon by Nous do, so I was wondering if this would be the case for Trailblazer. Although, there is Fu Xuan's case so I guess whether or not the Trailblazer gets admitted into the Genius Society or not depends on the HOW they get THEIR recognition? As for IX, gaining the recognition/gaze from the Aeon of Nihility seems paradoxical or antithetical to the Aeon's way of being. As Acheron may have implied, THEY do not care about anything, THEY are the most apathetic being in the universe bar none. If the Traiblazer gains THEIR recognition, what does it mean for their existence? Does that mean that THEY are admitting that the world isn't meaningless after all and cease to exist or something else entirely? Also, since the Traiblazer then would did the nigh impossible task of gaining THEIR interest, would that automatically gave them the power on the level of an Emanator?

I think Amphoreus is a simulation created by Fuli but all character inside Amphoreus didn't know about it. I believe in 3.1, the flame reaver ( AKA the mask guy fighting mydei and phainon ) will be the one that want to destroy the simulation after knowing the truth
