It's a long one but there are four different jobs here that shouldn't take more than 20 minutes and will make a huge difference to your Defender. We fit replacement vent flap seals, an upgrades screen washer jet, custom paint some new aluminium gearknobs AND re-fit our door cards. For the water ingress there’s a Land Rover advice sheet you can find on the web that suggests things to check. The cause of mine was the sealant in the gutter had dried out, just take all out and fit new dum dum and the rainfall down my neck every time I braked after parked in rain was cured

We do MOTs for a Landy Specialist and they bought in a Defender the other day and owner had had a clutch booster fitted and it made a massive difference while driving it on the brake test. Might be worth a look into as well(??). 😀😀

Little tip: I found it too stupid to put the nut of the washer jet on the inside. That's why I riveted a rivet nut into the window frame from the outside and screwed the washer in with Teflon tape. Now I can basically replace the nozzle completely from the outside.

Should have given the gear lever stem a quick light sand then a quick spray of stone chip. Covers the wear at the top and gives a durable finish

Hi. I love your videos, really informative and well produced. One thing that I need to mention is your camera clamps on your windscreen whilst you're driving. They look like they seriously impede your vision. The police could prosecute you for this and at worst, if you have an accident and someone is seriously injured or dies your insurance company will refuse to pay out and you could be imprisoned. There must be another way to mount them, surely.

How do you fix the yellow clip on the door card. Your replacement set has everything, but I am looking for the instruction video , but cant find it. Love the videos as my daughter bought a TD5. So all very helpful. We both like to do as much as we can ourself. I have a Puma 2.2.

The clips have a gao in the circle that locates over the small round head on the clip on the door. These brreak off a lot. We do a repair kit and I'm doing a video on this over the next few weeks.

Metal gear knobs are a nightmare in summer, my wife has an Abarth 595 with a OEM metal gear knob and on really hot days it’s unbearable.

Try and go for an OEM part and not aftermarket.

Luck was with you today! But the door handle flopping around like that looks awful, so cheap and nasty looking, you would have no control of door closing with that floppy thing. Will the foam soak up water and cause corrosion over time? Chris B.

I like the idea of the handle but it could be a bit nicer. Maybe leather or nice canvas would work. Will maybe design our own! The foam is closed cell so doesn't allow any water to collect inside.

@@LRLiveUK I think it would probably depend on how hard your door rubbers are, but it takes quite a bit of force to close most Defender doors as they are very light and bounce off the rubbers, I find the slower you shut them, the better they close, the standard door handle gives much more control when closing., but I do like the foam vent rubbers, of course as they are made by Exmoor trim they would be good! @@LRLiveUK Nakatanenga Defender leather door handle made from quality saddle leather from 4x4 outlander I found great in my TD5 not to bulky and softens up with age

I’ve had 3 Land Rover specialists tell me not to fit the LOF spring unless you want to fry the clutch?

That is strange advice? How can it "fry " the clutch? Unless you drive along with your foot on the pedal, it does require the clutch take up point to be adjusted correctly, but it cannot affect the clutch operation in any way. Chris B.

Defenders are a cult vehicle. Badly engineered, a pig iron chassis with an aluminium body, iron bolts, stainless bolts, galvanised bolts breaking due to electrolysis, leaking like a colander and cheap and awful fittings making the finish below par. Boys with their toys!!!! Landcruiser gives me a well engineered motor and body as Mitsubishi did, but in comfort. I dont want to customise a car. I leave that to the manufacturers for which I pay them.

Can only do a few jobs at a time. Steering wheel is now upgraded.
