That’s not a babydoll dress, as it doesn’t have an empire waist aka gather under the bust. I don’t know what you would call it, other than a mini trapeze dress.😊

It actually IS a babydoll dress. Babydoll dresses are meant to imitate nighties from the 60s or so, and the only requirement is that they’re short and loose fitting, resembling a nightie, and if you look up baby doll dress definition on Google the first image that comes up is a historical reference of a baby doll nightie from the 60s, shapes just like this dress. So maybe don’t offer up unsolicited critiques if you don’t know what you’re talking about ❤

This commenter didn’t know what they weee talking about, but felt it necessary to offer a critique nonetheless, so I’m just here to clear the air: that IS a babydoll dress. Trapeze dresses have a completely different top than this. This is a babydoll dress, not a trapeze dress.

Also trapeze dresses are shaped ENTIRELY different on the top part of the dress than this baby doll dress. Trapeze dresses are fitted over the chest and have broader straps usually (think of the purpose of the source material… a trapeze dress isn’t going to be something that doesn’t look like a trapeze costume). They are a loose trapezoid shape, but they aren’t this shape. Once again, it’s REALLY easy to research these things and it’s crappy to offer criticism when you’re not even using correct terminology. This is a baby doll dress. Not a trapeze dress.
