To answer this comment and the replies: Big Man actually has an ulterior motive with his career and wants to find a way to bridge the gap between the incredibly hostile Splatlands and Inkopolis. Hence his collaboration with the Squid Sisters in Liquid Sunshine. He has to use a pseudonym because Shiver and Frye are so patriotic he is presumably afraid they won't approve of his intentions.

Number 19's Fact is still one of my favorites in the entire series and what basically got me into the lore of Splatoon. And considering I heard about that in Chuggaaconroy's let's play it freaked me out I got interested more. Also another fact that I don't know if it's been covered previously, but the Inklings in Smash Ultimate have a special death animation when in Stamina mode which is based on the hero mode game over screen this only happens through the stocks and not the final hit

I remember when I played splatoon 2, I counted each curling bomb splat I made on that game, and I counted which one of those were by touching and not by the explosion. To answer your first question. Nope, brushes and blasters weren't considered their own class in 2 as they're grouped with shooters and rollers when sorting/filtering by class, making 3 the first game to consider Blasters and Brushes as their own class. For your second question though, I'm not really sure because I couldnt find any info abt the area it covers so I can't be sure if its the smallest.
