Love these video series. A proper history lesson for Fragrance enthusiasts. My fragrance journey started in the 1990s and I appreciate the walk down memory lane. I still have Gucci Pour Homme 1 & 2, original formulation of Terre D ‘Hermes and other various wonderful fragrances during that era.

J M I can't believe I missed that one... L'Instant de Guerlain Eau Extreme (LIDGE) is a MASTERPIECE and as good as it gets - reformulations have watered it down quite a bit unfortunately.

Armani Code was the Dior Sauvage of its time (not scent profile, just how everyone had it/wanted it, compliment machine at the time) one frag that didn't make the cut that I LOVED back then... came out in 1999 (now discontinued) - D&G Masculine - I have Xerjoff Nio that kind of reminds me of it... it's been a long time since I got my nose on it... at least 10 years. Tobacco Vanille was prob my first niche quality fragrance... I remember being stationed in japan (navy) and having to have my mom order it and send it as part of a care package lol... At the time this really set me apart from basically every guy on the ship. No one was wearing this stuff. No guy was wearing it... was also my 1st time wearing something sweet like this - not too sweet but you described it perfectly.

I remember the first time I smelled One Million in the early 2009, I truly was shocked at how good it smelled, it was in my buying list but it got really popular so quickly that it kind of lost its uniqueness and everyone was wearing it

Before Tobacco Vanille there was Eau des Baux, which, I believe inspired TV, personally, I view Tom Ford as an 'inspired by' house,mostly. Even Black Orchid wasn't a new smell to me but inspired by CK Obsession Night IMHO. Great episode Max!

In my opinion Terre is not a vetiver based scent. And Black Orchid always always gives me headaches when I smell it on others. I do agree that the new Dior Homme Intense is a shadow of what it used to be. Narciso Rodriguez for him EDP is superior than the EDT. Nice video.

I still have my original Bottle of Dior Homme with the silver stem. Terre D'Hermes, La Nuit del Homme, Narciso for Him, Oud Wood all big loves for me. Never Tried the Muglers I had a lot of chances to get them but never pull the trigger. The Pradas, One million, and Allure just not for me. Great list Max, thank you!!!

I felt the same way about Dior Homme Intense... it wasn't that I didn't like the fragrance I just thought it was very feminine... my taste has dramatically changed around the note of iris and I now love Dior Homme Intense

To me, Mania is way better than Code . Not many people talk about Armani Mania whose nose is none other than Francis Kurkdijan. Spicy and less sweet and unfortunately, discontinued and expensive 😢, wore this on 2004-5 really amazing and I must say unique .
