Question Time Stamps for Quick Reference: 0:00 - Introduction 1. 0:23 {Will Psychopaths be Judged the Same?} It has recently been scientifically proven that many psychopaths have a physical brain alteration that doesn't allow their synapses to receive the neuron chemicals for emotions such as sympathy. Oftentimes, they become violent criminals or even murderers. Will they be judged by God the same as any other person, even though they have something physiologically wrong with them? 2. 8:03 {What do Miracles/Healing Depend On?} If one were to pray over someone for a miracle or for healing, what would the chances of it working depend on? Jesus said that it depends on faith. Does it also depend on being a relatively righteous person? 3. 15:07 {About Glorified Bodies/Resurrection} If our bodies are glorified at the rapture, what happens to those people who are saved post-rapture? Is there a second resurrection? 4. 17:19 {About the Moral Argument} My brother has a very biblical worldview despite being an agnostic (in terms of homosexuality and celibacy, etc.) based on science. How do I prove that morality comes from God? 5. 26:41 {Is Everyone Claiming to be Saved Really Saved?} Paul Washer said that Matthew 7: 13-14 is not about Christians and non-Christians, but rather, real Christians and Christians who think they’re saved. He says many who think they are saved aren’t really saved. Thoughts? 6. 32:26 {About Giving Everything for the Lord} If salvation is a free gift and not by works, then why does Jesus say those of you who do not give up everything you have cannot be my disciples? How do we know when we have given up everything? 7. 38:53 {Honesty vs. Kindness?} Where do you draw the line between honest communication about things that bother you about something someone does, and “dying to self” if the person is a very close friend/loved one/spouse? 8. 44:09 {About Demons and The Nephilim} Are demons the spirits of dead Nephilim? Genesis 6 explains that the Nephilim are the offspring of women and angels. Demons never materialize, but we know angels can. Luke 22:3 is not convincing to me. 9. 48:04 {Can We Love Truth More than God?} Can I be a truth-seeker and a good Christian? Is it possible to love the truth more than God, considering that Jesus is the truth? 10. 55:35 {About the Sun Standing Still - Josh. 10} What do you think really happened during "the long day" in Joshua 10 during the battle between Israel and the armies of the 5 kings when "the sun stood still, and the moon stopped"? 11. 58:20 {About the OT Law & Sacrifices vs. Faith} Why was the old covenant law set up to require animal sacrifice, since we see Abraham was atoned for by his faith in the promise to come of what was Jesus (dimly perceived)? 12. 1:03:22 {Bethel Worship Music?} Can I keep listening to Bethel’s music, given the intent (as far as I understand) to invoke emotional responses? I want to avoid the idol of “emotional highs,” but I still see value in their music. 13. 1:07:03 {About the 153 Fish in John} In John 21, it is written that Peter caught 153 "large fish" and that "although there were so many, the net was not torn." Is there a message or theme John was conveying here? 14. 1:12:01 {Leaving a Church the Biblical Way} How do I go about leaving my church? Do I talk to my leaders? Do I have to explain why? What do I need to do to make sure that I do it the right way? 15. 1:16:28 {About the Dead Jesus Raised} Where did all the people that Jesus and the disciples raised from the dead go while they were dead? I would hate to think they were in Paradise somewhere, then had to come back. 16. 1:19:05 {About Asking for Forgiveness/Mark of the Beast} A popular internet ministry says Jesus never said we need to ask for forgiveness and the Bible doesn’t mention it. Is that true? They also say it’s impossible for a Christian to take mark of the beast. Is that true? 17. 1:24:00 {Why Keep the L.E. of Mark in the Bible?} If the longer ending of Mark isn't original, nor written by Mark, how is keeping it in the Bible not diluting the Word of God and cheapening the meaning of "Scripture"? 18. 1:26:09 {Help During Trying Times of Doubt} Why can’t I trust Christ for complete forgiveness even though I fully believe every word in the Bible? Why won’t my heart allow me to enter salvation? Why doesn’t God seem to want to help me? 19. 1:31:35 {Jesus’ Deity & His Title of “Son of God”} If Jesus is God, then why do Paul and the Gospels often speak of them separately? What is the significant about the phrase "Son of God" being used for Jesus, since it is used for others, too? 20. 1:35:13 {“Hearing” God in Prayer/His Guidance in Life} When we pray, how do we "hear" God's reply? How can someone differentiate between hearing the voice of God and hearing their own thoughts? When I pray, I feel like it's just me. How can I make decisions if I don't know what God wants of me?

5) In context Jesus is speaking on the wolves in sheep’s clothing, ministering for selfish gain and not develop a personal relationship with Christ. Christ says I never knew you keyword in that scripture is “never” no relationship with Jesus. We know we’re children of God in our spirit and testimony. It’s a knowing through the Holy Spirit and we fellowship with Christ and the Father personally heartfelt. 🙏Romans 8:16 “The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.”

“Seek and you shall find” We’re talking about finding out if Jesus is real. The most powerful, patient, loving, amazing, one true God there is. If she is really searching for him I am sure she will come to the conclusion that he is real. This is the journey I just took. About a year ago, I was questioning wether or not Jesus was the one true God. With all humility, I asked God “if you’re real, reveal yourself to me.” Now I shout his name and his glory from the rooftops so everyone can hear. His Holy Spirit burns like a fire in my soul every waking moment of my life. I will pray for your cousin and everyone else’s salvation. I will pray that everyone knows in there hearts that Jesus is King!

As a neuroscientist and a Christian, I urge everyone to read popular media stories about science with a grain of salt. The most common reaction among scientists to 'science journalism' is "Well, ok, but that's not exactly right..."

I also want to add that brain scans also look different with people who depression. But from what I've read we still don't if the chicken or egg comes first. Does their brain cause their depression, or does the depression cause differences I readings? I wonder if it's the same for psychopaths

@@elijahcademartori9854 , my inclination is to think that because of the brain's remarkable plasticity, the fact that psychopaths have four parts of the brain which are slightly smaller is adaptation, not cause. It seems extremely common that scientists will use a word, for lack of a better term, assign that word a new or archaic definition for their specific purpose, and then the journals will grab it and run off with the colloquial definition for that word and misinform everybody.

I don't know who that is but I'm going to look him up because I am invested in this issue. My father has been diagnosed with anti-social personality disorder which is the official name for psychopathy or sociopathy. According to the literature, not only do they lack empathy and sympathy but they also lack a conscience and the capacity to feel guilt. How can one repent if one has no conscience?

Regarding leaving a church body, Mike addressed leaving for negative reasons. Several years ago, my family moved to another town, but for the first two years in the new house, continued making the 30-40 minute drive to our home church. Wife and I have strong convictions about being in a local body and the old church was no longer our local body. We sat down with the pastor and explained our conviction and that, even though we LOVED this portion of our church family, we were starting to look at churches that were in our community. Our pastor was very supportive, thanked us for keeping them in the loop, and suggested a bunch of local options. So if you are leaving for good reasons, YES, talk to your church leadership about it so they know and can support you.

When I moved,I didn't even consider staying at my old church, tried a couple, stuck with the 2nd. Everyone in my old congregation knew I had moved though. I came from a Methodist church in Ireland church, but the Methodist church in my new area was so different. The Presbyterian church was a lot more similar to my old church

For question 2, times like that, when you're thinking "I know you can do this God, but what if you don't?" I think of Shadrach, Mishach and Abednego when they say "Our God can deliver us from this fire, but even if He doesn't, we will choose to serve Him anyway." They recognized and acknowledged the grace and sovrenty of God, and knew His will is perfect. They knew they could have died in that furnace, but they also knew Christ as He stood in the fire with them. If we aren't granted healing, we go through our sickness with the love of the Lord, then we go home where we are perfectly healed of every sickness and fully delivered from sin, the ultimate sickness. I say all of this as someone who is watching their mother battle stage 4 cancer. We pray for miraculous healing every day, but my beautiful mother is also a sister in Christ, and we both know *to live is Christ and to die is gain* and *to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord*

I agree. I have struggled throughout life to not want to hurt the people who hurt me. I have always had a problem with rage and when I am angry I have a tendency to want to really hurt people that hurt me. I have been bullied and picked on...with mild autism I tend to get obsessive about subjects and people often don't want to hear me out on matters. I am used to not being listened to. When I get angry is often hard for me to calm down...the greater the rage the longer it takes me to chill out. I often retreat and seclude my self so I don't lash out at others and deal with the anger and calm down. I have struggled with that anger but I always remind myself not to become the monster they want me to become. To hurt people is wrong...it won't bring me any satisfaction but just make me into something I don't want to be. This is something you can deal with. I did it for years and finally came to Christ a year ago...and He made it even easier for me to deal with by granting me peace and love that I often don't always get from others as I am often seen as odd or strange as it is already. You don't have to give in to those feelings of hatred and anger...trust in Jesus and He will guide you through it. It isn't always easy but you can get through it. Don't give in to thoughts of hatred..don't be the monster they try to force you to become. Gloria in excelsis Deo! Trust and love the Lord Almighty!

regarding question 1... I'm the parent of someone diagnosed with autism and an intellectual disability. I've also worked with students with disabilities for 30 years. there is such a wide range of ability to understand right/ wrong, morality, even doctrine and tenants of the faith etc... even among people without diagnosable conditions or disabilities. I've come to understand that God meets and will meet each human being where they are. I as a parent and teacher understand some of the differences in understanding and accountability amongst people... And God even moreso understands each one of us intimately and completely. I believe even those with disabilities are accountable to the various degrees to which our finite minds and bodies are capable. And it's not for me to judge that for another person... only God knows... but I can guide and teach. (and even those with disabilities are accountable to our human laws, though consequences for breaking them may vary)

Please don't blame yourself. The devil is accusing you and lying to you, and you are letting him crush your heart with guilt. You honored your dad by interceding for him and persevering in prayer. God did honor your faith, but He is not a helpless servant who does your bidding, nor is He a heartless God who will answer your prayer knowing it is going to cause your dad to go astray and destroy your trust in his Word. Idk where your dad is now -- and maybe you are just assuming he's not with God b/c he had issues. Even IF you are 100% sure, more than likely your dad already had a foundation made of sand. God healed him to give him a second chance to truly come to Him. How do I know? Because that is always the heart of God. Remember the ten lepers Jesus healed? Only one came back to pay him homage. So was Jesus WRONG in healing all ten?? Absolutely not! ! He is always, always trying to draw us to Him. Likewise, you didn't do ANYTHING wrong, Stacey. Don't let that lying devil rob you of your joy and your trust in his promises. "The just shall live by faith." It PLEASES God when we do. God bless.

Brother Mike, I just want to tell you how much I really appreciate you, your ministry and your AMAZING Bible studies. You are someone I greatly value and treasure, and trust to teach me genuine & doctrinally sound Bible teachings. I fail so much as a Christian in my walk, and I’m never where I believe I ought to be in my daily walk with the Lord. However, I’m extremely grateful to know a humble teacher such as yourself. You exemplify God’s love and grace in your ministry. You inspire me, your Bible studies edify me, challenge me, I’m corrected through you, you speak life and you are >always< building everyone up, not tearing them down. It’s like you’ve found the right balance of love and grace, something I aspire to in my walk and constantly pray for. I’m just very grateful for your heart and diligent hard work. Thank you so much for showing us by example what it looks like to live and walk out our faith as God’s people. When I think of those whom I admire in scripture for their example, you are always among them. I think we often fail to let our pastors and teachers know that they are valued, appreciated and sincerely making an impact. I know you are called by God to do what you’re doing because I see Him when I listen to you. Thank you for being a faithful and obedient servant of our Lord. God bless you, your family and your ministry brother. 😌🙏✝️⚓️🕊🤍

On the topic of the psychopath question. I have a very close friend who is a psychopath. As in he straight up doesn't feel much of any empathy nor sympathy for anyone else, and his emotions are very selfish. He is also a passionate and lifelong Christian who affirms the whole truth of The Bible. The Christian faith is not built on emotions, and thus the lack of certain emotions, such as sympathy and empathy, does not in any way restrict their ability to accept or reject the truth of Christ. Also the idea that psychopaths are all murderers and criminals is a stereotype, most are non-violent.

Your answer to question 20 was quite refreshing, having been in more charismatic circles the past 15 years. The idea that one can and should regularly hear God for every little decision can definitely perpetuate, as you point out, instability, among other side effects like guilt/fear/anxiety over not being to "hear God" or overconfidence in one's own psychological processes as "hearing God." An interesting book related to this topic is Tanya Luhrmann's When God Talks Back. It's an anthropological and psychological take on the larger culture.

Appreciated that answer about knowing biblical principles for how to live is a major way we "hear" from God for our lives. Common Sense can be forgotten, overlooked , or even denied in favor of a "spiritual " answer. Yes, the witness or presence of His Holy Spirit promises to lead us into all truth, & we can say to God in the gray areas of decision-making, Lord, I am yours, You are free to interpret or change my plans anytime! Please help me to trust you and have joy when You do! 😉 ❤️

One of the hardest things about telling others you will pray for them during a difficult time, is when God’s will does not appear to be responding to your prayers, ie the one you are praying for dies anyway, loses his job anyway. Almost easier just to pray for them, without telling them.

In attempt to explain my Father's violent and evil actions to us and my mom, we can only come up with psychopathy. He grew up with an severely alcoholic father. Hard working mother to compensate. He was forced to be in Hitler youth as a teen in WWII Germany. He had made a profession of faith and was confessionally baptized. But he clearly bore no fruit. I personally think he went through the motions as my grandfather would not let him marry my mom, if he was not a believer. We spent years trying to give him opportunities to repent and share to gospel with him and were so ready to forgive (which we had already) and reconcile. We were largely estranged and he never contacted us unless he wanted something of us which was often illegal ( the last instance involved credit card fraud) and when we refused he would write awful letters, about our mom and us, to our pastor. He literally threw us away. We embrace our freedom by running to the church. My mom divorced only on advice of our pastor for protection of us children. She never considered herself free of marriage ( he didn't commit adultery literally). He passed a few years ago and the only tears I shed were because the possibility of his being lost because we don't know where he stood with the Lord. I pray he repented and I would be happy and blessed to see him in heaven some day, or if he were truly a psychopath and his earlier confession of faith was as real as he could manage and couldn't help what he did, i also pray that God would have mercy on his soul. However if my Dad did not repent and knew or understood what he did and God gives him his justice I'm ok with that too.

I absolutely love these so much. I rarely catch it live to ask a question, but today you touched on it through someone else's question. And now I'm terrified to die.🥺 I always thought to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Now I know 2nd Corinthians 5:8 says "Yes, we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord." Also I wondered if hell was even open yet since the day of judgement has not commenced. There's so much that needs to happen eschatologically still that we have a ways to go. I was hoping when I died I would be able to see God and Jesus and the Holy Spirit. I want to see if any of my family made it. I wanted to meet Simon Peter because I think we are both stubborn LOL which is not always a bad thing. I was looking forward to meeting Paul and all the prophets. But mostly just to be in the presence of the LORD I don't know if this is the proper place to ask for prayer. My sixteen-year-old son is suffering right now. His name is Chase. I have four boys. And Chase loves the Lord. But he's struggling with some of the same things I hear in your video. It keeps him up at night. We pray together and separately for him to know what is happening inside of him that's making him think he needs to live a life of singleness to please God so that he can be good enough. He feels like if he sacrifices his desires then he'll be a better servant to Christ, and it will bring God more Glory. On the other hand, he has the sweetest girlfriend right now that loves the Lord so much too. He cannot decipher if the holy spirit is telling him to leave his girlfriend and live a life of singleness. What you just said the very last question is a version of what I've been telling him. If you wanted do God's will, read your Bible. Pray. Go to church. Live a Godly life. I'm going to share this with him. He gets home late because of practice, then dinner, then homework, then shower and then he's almost asleep by then. But he does watch you, he told me he does. Thank you for everything you do Mike. You're storing up so much treasure in heaven. You know, once we finally get there😇

In reference to question # 1, most serial killers "psychopaths" have a family and they don't harm them. Maybe they don't experience feelings like the rest of us, but they have the self control to treat their relatives well. So probably, they know the difference between right and wrong.

@wattlebough

Most psychopaths don’t kill anyone. It’s a Hollywood trope that psychopaths are by default serial killers. Many of them lead seemingly normal lives in public. They are often extreme risk takers. They often seek out positions of power in public life, such as in the corporate world, political affairs, the military, law enforcement and even in churches. They often derive pleasure from psychologically tormenting their victims by their machiavellian schemes, reputation destruction, gaslighting and through financial control. Chances are you’ve met several of these people and not known it. They may have even impressed and charmed you to win you over. It’s one of their covers to ensure that if one of their unfortunate few victims ever attempts to expose them the people they’ve maintained a positive influence over will never believe the victim and will side with the psychopath unwittingly.

This concept of people born without empathy and sympathy, aka psychopaths, is perplexing. David Wood, a professing Christian "psychopath" has added perspective for me. He clearly states that he knows right from wrong but simply feels no emotion or sense of any need to discern the two, outside of what God reveals in His Word. Really that is true for anyone, to an extent, who is rejecting Biblical Truth in their unrepentant sinful state.

I think we can intuitively recognize that a sick/disadvantaged/impaired person who chooses good over evil, *in spite of* their problems, is achieving a great moral victory, and possibly a more precious one than when the same choice is made by those of us who are more "normal." Only God can truly judge anyone's soul, so it may be a trap to speculate too specifically about sin and redemption in specific people, or in extraordinary cases of abnormal psychology. However, I do think it is right to praise virtue in those who are extraordinarily challenged in it. That is how, I think, these persons should be encouraged to move towards light.

I agree what you are saying that there is not a formula to prayer and answers to prayer are according to God’s will. BUT… If you notice throughout the scriptures that people appealed to God’s compassionate and merciful side “to be willing” or “let it be His will” in prayers and He answered I am willing. To many times people are discouraged from praying because they are left in a place with a lack of hope in God because they are given a safe answer in case prayer isn’t answered. we should reassure each other of the HOPE that we can communicate with God, He hears, and HE does help. There’s always going to be a fear of being rejected when approaching God for help but His word tells us to go to Him . We should always encourage to do that in my opinion

My only pause with that question is the "it has been scientifically proven" part, especially in the mental health area. Just google "the conscience of psychiatry" and you'll see most results point to Dr. Peter Breggin who first earned that name championing the stoppage of forced lobotomies as a young doctor and now in his 80s continues to be a watchdog pointing out abuses in his field, such as how the depression = low serotonin myth has been created and used by drug companies to make billions. And I have degrees in math and computer science, both with perfect GPAs so I know nerds, and nerds are people too, and if not constrained by the truth-telling conscience of a Spirit-led Christian are just as vulnerable to impure motives like "follow the money" as anyone else. So, has it really been scientifically proven? Really? That's my question there

For Armand about question 18. I dont know if you are still around or dealing with this same question, or if someone else is going through this. Not long ago i was experiencing this as well. My awareness of my sins was overwhelming me. I felt condemned and unworthy. I was talking with God and i just broke down in tears and asked how he could love me if i dont even love myself. He shared his sadness with me for that. I realized later that day, that he wasn't accusing me of my sins. God and Jesus are not our accusers, those are evil influences and when it internal like that, its our own flesh railing against our spirit, for they will always be at war. I also at that time remembered a text my wife had sent me overnight timed for when i was working. It was exactly what i needed to hear before i even broke down. God was there for me before i knew i needed him. He loves us all and he can forgive us. He wants to forgive us. But we need to break ourselves open and lay it all at his feet, to take our sin burdens. After that, the weight fell off me and i no longer condemn myself and the accuser is silent. Confess to him and he will show you your heart and begin to heal it.

Question 15: There was an accordance where someone would be in a coma and then wake up. Those around thought they were dead. The traditional belief was that the spirit of the dead lingered for three days. They would check the body every morning afternoon and evening. It took 3 days for the body of the dead to see decay so once they saw that, they knew they were dead. They also believed that if one died at sea their spirit would wander on the top of the water. If you saw the ghost of a dead person at sea they believed you would die that day, thus the disciples when seeing Jesus walk on water exclaimed, it’s a ghost! Also, scripture says to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. This gives implication that there is no delay from death the the afterlife.

It was His choice because Jesus' will and God's will were the same. Jesus understood the suffering He was gonna go through but that didn't stop Him because going through it meant saving people, like us. He did have a choice which is why He was tempted by Satan and didn't sin. Therefore don't worry about having those questions it's normal, at the end of the day the best thing we get to understand is that God is good all the time no matter how unjust something seems to you. But you will learn that over time. Sorry if this was long, btw approach God with all these questions and worries, he listens

As someone who was once atheist, arguing the morale argument is easily refuted through the idea that we have evolved to help eachother. I would go down the route of how things considered "sin" are things that hurt us or our neighbors. The fact that scientists don't know what over 85% of the universe is in the sense that it is considered "dark matter or dark energy", the upwards of 12 possible other dimensions, a d the insane amount of wisdom in the Bible that gets ignored. Or just tell them to think of "God" as the word in the Bible as the wisdom of our ancestors. There are other ways to lead atheists to the light that may help everyone more.
