An issue a lot of people don't know about why lighthouse keepers went insane, is that it wasn't just an issue of isolation. Old lighthouse lamps were able to rotate so smoothly and without a lot of energy because it was floated on 2000 lbs of mercury.

I also think Skinamarink would be worse for parents because in Skinamarink the parents were it's first victims, and they did not come back from whatever happened to them, and it was implied their bones cracked.

I think the Hell from Scrooge 1970 should be ranked in the S level as it perfectly blends freezing cold and fire as well as ominous red glow. It is even more impressive when you consider that vision of Hell came from a film rated U.

One place I thoght would be mentioned was the other world from Coraline. You get great stuff served to you on a silver platter, but you could very well end up dying or worse unless you outsmart the entity that controls this place. Unless you are seeking them out or have some rotten luck, a vast majority of these places are easy to avoid.

Perhaps an idea would be some video game liminal spaces, there’s tons. LOVE LISTENING TO U GUYS AT WORK (ITS HEALING).

How bout some time loops? I'd learn a bunch of new skills in a time loop, try all sorts of drugs, eat and drink whatever I feel like without worrying about my health. Although it would suck to know I can't create anything without it vanishing completely when I wake up, and I'd be upset I'd never get to see any new art I'm looking forward to coming out. There's also the fact that I can't make any new lasting connections with anyone I meet ever again unless I drag them into the loop with me. I'd put Groundhog day time loop as a C tier. Seems pretty boring and I'd have co workers annoyed at me for not showing up to do my job and they'd bug me with shit, also personally I just don't like cold weather. Palm Springs I'd put as B tier because if you have to be stuck living the same day over again, a vacation hot spot sounds like a nice place to be. It only sucked for that one character because the night previously she made the worst mistake of her life. Happy death Day I think I'd rate as an A tier at first because of all the dying, but the longer it went on it'd make it's way down to C tier. Less scary and more just aggravating. Eventually I'd figure my shit out.

Welp, I'm a big burly trans man and it made me ugly cry, full on mental claustrophobia. I went into it fully aware that it was intended to be a soulcrushing experience and it really worked for me. There were so many direct emotional parrelels to the pain of being trans and it hurt so much. It was cleansing though. I hadn't had a good cry like that in a while and the emotional validation was really benefiical. And even then, it didn't leave me feeling hopeless. There's nothing wrong with you that it didn't have the same impact, obviously. But, I'm hoping my anecdote makes you like it a bit more. I personally find it really easy to project myself onto characters and feel exactly what they're feeling so that contributed to my experience. I understand that it's possible your reaction was more like "yeah, thats what it feels like" and it just didnt pull you in, and thats fine. The ultimate message of the movie is pretty much that being trans and not transitioning is torture and we can both agree thats a worthwhile message to spread to The Cis

@@shjilz I knew of the impact it had for some as I watched it with a dear friend of mine as she had already seen it and wanted too watch it with me But I also appreciate seeing how it affected you and it's nice too see how many others liked it It was more of a personal disappointment that it didnt just click Hell I've lived a life of constant dissasosiating and depression So I really wanted too feel seen by something made for people like me But the feeling never came and in a strange way I'm left feeling like somethings wrong with me But nonetheless thank you for sharing your feelings on it I hope you have a lovely day kind sir
@shjilz3 ай бұрын
@The_Rat_Bridget_Fan There's been times where I would watch/listen/read something and really ~want~ to feel a connection with it, but would ultimately walk away thinking "yeah, that was pretty good, and if I think critically about it I would review it well, but I never felt a ~spark~". That sounds like what you're describing so I think I know exactly how you feel. For example, I think the movie The Lighthouse is all around great from a critical perspective and I even like the two lead actors, but it never gave me a spark. I know that movie did give a lot of other people sparks though, and I respect that because I know how it feels to unexplainably connect with a movie :] I'm glad you see why other trans people liked tvglow so much and you respect that even though it didn't click for you. Lemme tell ya, you're not really missing out on anything tbh so don't feel left out. I think it mainly clicked for me because I'd been repressing a lot of pain and it hit different seeing it all laid out in front of me. This isn't a perfect comparison, but I imagine that some black viewers didn't feel a strong connection to the movie Get Out even if they thought its social commentary was powerful, I think this is a similar scenario and you are completely valid. You seem so cool so, especially as a fellow trans person, I hope things are going well for you or they start going well soon sister ! =^_^=
