Such a great series, brilliant! My interpretation of her speaking to camera and no one noticing that is that no one actually saw her, they were projecting their idea of her onto her from their own stuff, until the priest, who actually saw her inasmuch as one human can see another. The priest didn't do what she wanted in the end because she needed to see/know herself and he had already done that withiin himself and he saw what she needed and gave her that.
