This is such a cool video idea. I enjoyed the Han Solo Trilogy aswell. I gave 4 stars to the first book and 5 to both the second and third book.

My favorite series I started was ASOIAF. I didn’t even think I liked fantasy and it blew my mind! I plan on reading Pillars of the Earth next year. PS we have the same opinion about Twilight but not Divergent haha

I’m so glad to see you liked Divergent series so much!

Definitely a great recommendation, thank you for encouraging me to read it!

"An older series, but it checks out" NICE! Glad to hear you call out books as appropriate vs inappropriate. That's good to know :) I am going to look into Stone and Sky to see if I can recommend it to some kids.

Read the Fionavar Tapestry trilogy by Guy Gavriel Kay this year. Immediately bought Tigana by the same author, amazing writer.

The hottest take is saying that the Divergent trilogy gets better with each book

Can u do a haul on halo books?
@jonathankoan4 сағат бұрын
I usually do hauls for when I buy the books. I might do a ranking video when I’ve read more.

Crazy how much I love Word and Void compared to you! Meanwhile I really struggled with Jerle Shannara

Not having read the book, what views are you talking about that Ken Follett presents in Pillars about which you say, "I disagree with everything in this book worldview-wise"? Could you elaborate?
@jonathankoan3 сағат бұрын
His view of the heart of Christianity, on the purpose of the church, on the good that the church can do, on why Christianity believes what it believes, on moral foundations and why they’re important, things like that.
@ButOneThingIsNeedful2 сағат бұрын
@@jonathankoan I appreciate your response, but don't want to misunderstand it. Are you saying Follett is essentially anti-Christianity, church, etc.? (I ask as a Christian.)

I'm not quite sure, but it looks like you constantly rearange and stack your bookshelf. I think you just want to hold them and look at them all the time. Satire!

I don’t think I had too many new series started this year but I’ll rank them: 1. Batman Resurrection (I know it’s not technically a series yet but I’m confident the sequel will come out) 2. Lord of a Shattered Land (Chronicles of Hanovar) 3. The Icarus Hunt (the Icarus series) 4. Mars (the grand tour series) 5. Slow Horses (Slough House) 6. Sun Eater series 7. Rise of the Ranger (the echo series) 8. Stone and Sky 9. Assassin’s Apprentice (The Farseer Trilogy) A few others but those were for comedic purposes and I won’t continue the series

Hey, I’ve read 6 of those and intend to get to Suneater soon. Nice. So glad to see Batman and Hanuvar up there!

Having twilight so high up the list negates any opinions you have on anything
@jonathankoanСағат бұрын
I would hope that isn’t the case. I still enjoy other series that people often enjoy as well, just I also liked this one.
