DIY who? Of course it’s easy to turn your stairs into a shelf! Well, a carpenter might be able to do that by himself. These are more likely DIY ideas for professionals who need a project for the weekends.

Not really m8, its actually quite simple if u have ever done something with wood in ur life, you dont even need all those 1000 buck tools, but I do recommend that if you dont want to saw the planks cuz it might get bad, just buy them at home depot and ask them to cut them for u

The second piano shelf design at 5:40 would arguably look way better if the bottom face was painted white so it blends into the wall when folded up

4:54 "a dainty octogonal wall-shelf" that is a Hexagon, the actual word is octAgonal, and that is not a shelf by any definition. Just because someone called it a shelf, doesn't make it one, and it lacks all the defining features. Cool little thing, but whoever wrote that script didn't try very hard, at all...

You can also put a magnet on the underneath the false bottom and then put one on something hidden (I have a very small wall hanging with a magnet flush mounted in the back) and I use the magnet to open the drawer. But whatever floats your boat.

What’s the point in the piano key wall being able even move at the click of a button when your only going to ever use it to put it down when you put all your things on it, it’s never gonna move again!
@D_Parks4 жыл бұрын
Levi K I’m not that crazy about the shelf design but to say you stick stuff on decorative shelves or bookcases in your home and never move them again. that is ridiculous. I add new items, new books, get bored of a certain decor. The shelves maybe stay the same for three months

A bit less of the artsy angled filming and a few straightforward views of the projects would be helpful. But that’s not apothecary shelves. Also does anyone understand number 18 and #13? Certainly the camera angles don’t help. But surely if you want storage, you don’t cut and stain dozens of little bits of wood. And how do you remember which bit is hiding away the stuff you put there last night? We are always being told people are ‘time poor’, but both of those shelves look o be madly frustrating, as you’d waste all night trying to remember where you’d put the keys. Which robs the task of its original purpose.

Okay, I get that hidden storage in stairs is a great idea, but MDF hot glued together? Yeah, that's not lasting through a very warm summer in the south. Piano wall is awesome. Will take a lot of work and expense. NO popsicle sticks. NO! Bad diy-er! Popsicle sticks always look like popsicle sticks. Flip-down wall shelf is cool. Takes a LOT of material and a lot of work. "A few" identical pieces of wood? The images shown means hundreds of identical pieces. Even scaled down, it's a lot. Cool key storage. Same for headboard storage idea. The wooden cloth table is awesome, but only for experienced woodworkers that are good at math. Just sayin'. I'm an experienced woodworker who made a 15 sided, 4 tiered jewelry box, so I know. Crafter's workspace is awesome. I might try building one myself. Pen organizer is awesome! I have watercolor pencils, colored pencils, graphite pencils and myriad other pens/pencils. Such a smart design!

About those piano walls!! I am NOT a fan of them!! While at first I thought it was a really "neat idea", my understand came when I realized how much space they actually WASTE in a room, because NOW you can't put anything against the wall that has the "Piano Wall" keys on it!!
