In my school, the English books are literally falling apart, missing pages, instruments held together with tape and rubber bands so they can function, and I don’t even have a theater club at all(most of the money spent is on sports so everything else gets the short end). Even a measly $100 could make a difference.

I know exactly what you're talking about. Our school district, a small one also in Northern California, 20 miles away from "the Camp Fire" just get by. I think they feel like we're hicks or country bumpkins and don't need anything that the rest of the world just takes for granted. We are a poverty stricken county so we do get special funding but if our kids don't score well on their yearly state testing we lose all or alot of it. We wouldn't know how it felt to receive anything new instead of a hand me down. We are treated like Cinderella before the ball. It would be great to wind up on someone's nice list for a change or even be adopted by a huge corporation that's looking for a tax write off. It hurts and what's even harder, is to explain to these kids that want nothing more than to learn and get the best education money can buy. We just laugh at that joke! I'm sure you can agree.
