Tip: if your machine is a top-loader and doesn't have a detergent dispenser, put your laundry detergent in first before your clothes. It will put the soap closer to the larger agitators at the bottom, which will help distribute the soap faster.

Turning graphic tees in-side-out is a good tip, but lots of other items benefit from being in-side-out too. For example, turning your sweatshirts in-side-out will keep the pilling on the in-side, keeping the out-side looking presentable longer and minimizing the use of your fabric shaver. One tip that i wish you had mentioned is to zip-up and button-up (to make sure the zipper stays up) your jeans and pants (anything with a zipper really). Zippers rubbing on other pieces of clothing during laundry is a big cause of premature wear on clothes. Keeping the zippers closed has made a big difference in how quickly all my clothes wear.

Also turn any clothing inside out that has textured surfaces such as velvet, corduroy, faux fur, detailed collars and cuffs embellishes, lace overlay. Also always wash dark dress trousers inside out so they are pristine no lint. Another tip for sun-drying your laundry in the height of summer. Throw a very thin piece of cotton over the rail or line on top of your garments to prevent sun bleached lines. I keep a couple of thin older cotton pillowcases that I opened up for a nice thin piece of fabric as well as an old sheet to cover bigger drying racks. Everything dries just as well but no sun bleached fabric. Or only dry undercover of an awning etc where there's shade from the hottest days x

TWO hampers in each bedroom. One for lights, one for darks. I found some great plastic “bucket” laundry baskets with handles that are easy to carry up or down steps. When one is full, I do the load, put the folded dried things in and carry it back. We have to face the fact that there is no such thing as “Laundry day” any more. We do it every day, wash, dry, fold and put it away immediately. Otherwise it is overwhelming.

Hi mom! Here's a tip for bloodstains: wash the stains out with cold water and detergent as best as you can, soak the clothes in cold water and some lemon juice for about an hour, then take the clothes out and scrub any stains left with cold water and detergent before throwing them into the washer. Also make sure to set the wash to cold water, because hot water will set the blood into the fabric. Tip for stinky sweaty clothes: put about a capful of dettol/lysol (or any type of brown disenfectant that turns white in water) in a basin full of water so it becomes nice and cloudy, then turn all the stinky clothes inside out and let them soak in the basin for an hour. After they soak throw them into the washer with another capful of disenfectant and just wash normally like you always do. The stank is caused by bacteria and when it seeps into fabric it's hard to get rid of, so by soaking the whole thing in disenfectant you're making it seep into the fibers and chase down every last bit of bacteria stuck in there.

To de-winkle a shirt in the dyer = instead of two ice cubed I have used a damp tea towel or a damp towel towel. Seems a little bit more safe compared to chucking ice cubes in with electricity...🤷🏽♀️ If that doesn't float your boat then I've also done where you put the shirt on a hanger and hang it into the bathroom while you're having your hot shower and then get out and get dressed. That helps sometime. Also with the laundry bags I use quite frequently, but I actually turned mine inside out because of the zipper coming open while it's washing. So if you turn the bag inside out and then load it with your socks bras smaller items you don't want getting snagged, then when you zip it up it seems to lock the zipper.😊 Hopefully these two little tips help you as much as they've helped me.

Tip: wash & dry bedding amd bath materials & rugs separately and make sure to check your machines for bedding or extra proper settings. A dryer that has only a bedding setting can help dry those rugs you tried to dry on a normal setting. Tip 2: Propperly vacuum & air out rugs and then put on proper settings before washing or drying. Tip 3: If you have a fabric or blanket that either may be loose or may cause a string tangle, you may want to wash & dry in a separate mesh bag. Extra tip: Turning any old or new shirt or shorts & pants inside out may prolong the color & texture of the fabric, or keep it from wearing down more.

I found this foil ball tip from another laundry person on KZbin (The Laundry Evangelist): rip off about a 3-feet-long piece of aluminum foil, wad it up into a ball and put that in the dryer with the clothes to help with static. You can put a foil ball in the dryer with as many wool dryer balls as you want but only use 1 aluminum foil ball at a time in the dryer. It will trap static in foil, which also helps the lint to come off the fabrics you're drying. If you put multiple foil balls in the dryer at a time, whenever they hit, the static will go back into the clothes. This is all alleged; I do not know the science, but I've found that my lint traps are fuller since starting this
