A 21 year old arrested 23 times for violent offences, including domestic violence? People like that - if they're not going to be locked up- need to be put on a public register so that anyone who gets close to them knows what potential risks they're taking. Screw the privacy of the perpetrator. They brought it on themselves. Public safety is more important.

@@0momma this country in this video is known to everyone as being run by what Americans know as far left government. It is widely known that leftists are easier on criminals. His previous girlfriend actually predicted that he would kill his next one. And she was right. Later, when he tried to appeal his sentence, his mother threatened to disown him if he went through wit it. Didn't faze him one bit. He lost the appeal however and now his mother is supporting the Hollie Gazzard trust, having cut off all ties with her son. Serves him right!

It's like once you've experienced it *and* learnt about it you can see the red flags immediately: - persistent, cannot take no as an answer (from asking her on a date to her trying to break up with him) - possessive and suffocating, constant communication and surveillance...showing up to her work and home unannounced - isolating her from family and friends by convincing her to move to london - emotionally ab usive (e.g. belittling her career, insults) and the physically abu sive - history of Domestic Ab use (which is obvious now but she didn't know) towards ex partners, if they call *all* their exs crazy 🚩🚩 - quick to anger - coercive and threatening behaviour - Hollie obviously changes to family and friends but hides true extent of his behaviour and defends him - has difficulty pulling away from abu ser (trauma bond) - always having to apologize to your ab user, feeling like it's always ur fault Ands Off thats top of my head, but please if *any thing* I've said or you see in this resonates with you research about a bu sive relationships and how to escape from them. The most dang erou s time for a woman in an abu sive relationship is when she is trying to leave her a bu ser! Don't think it starts with a smack, it starts way sooner. RIP Hollie, you weren't to know xx

how is it right that someone is arrested 23 times for domestic violence and grievous bodily harm and walk the streets a free man? someone who is arrested 23 times isn't gonna stop suddenly and never be violent to someone again. who thinks that someone like that wakes up after 23 arrests (and we need to assume that just because he was arrested 23 times doesn't mean he _offended_ 23 times, cause we know that usually victims don't call the police every single time) and that will be the last time he ever gets violent with someone ever again? we _know_ he does it over and over and over without any sign of getting better, we know that. Someone like that needs to be in prison. We need to change the laws to create long prison sentences for violent offenders like this. Cause the laws don't protect victims right now, they don't step in until someone ends up dead. People who get arrested for grievous bodily harm 23 times walk free. That's not an exception, that's the norm. That's what's happening right now with countless violent abusers. It's incredibly difficult for a victim to come forward, and even if they manage, and they manage to go through trial, nothing really happens. There's no real consequences for violent offenders. And we need to demand a change for that.

Horrific. And as you pointed out, many assaults go unreported - in fact *more than 80%*. Which means he assaulted probably hundreds of women, and police should keep this statistic at the forefront of their minds. To think dogs are put down after one bite, and savage animals like this are released over and over, completely unable to be rehabilitated, while the public remains oblivious.

I had a cell phone but changed my number and mailed him an 11 page letter detailing everything he'd ever done to me and ended it for good. Then I also put in my 30 day apt move out notice. I think where most of us go wrong we try to end it nicely yet keep talking to him and trying to smooth over the rejection. People like this you have to end it and just go missing!!! Smh 😔🤦🏽‍♀️

Never underestimate how difficult it is for a family to support a loved one in an abusive relationship. It's an impossible position because you can see all the warning signs and still be powerless to help. If you push too hard they may pull away and become even more isolated, which is what the abuser wants. Knowing a situation is dangerous and being able to stop it are very two different things. The laws need to be way tougher on domestic abusers, especially repeat offenders!!

Thing is as an ex survivor of a very abusive relationship, you really dont realise its happening. As it will start off as 1 slap or 1 hurtful sentence that you forgive, which then snowball over time into some sort of abusive everyday. Even if you do know about the red flags, you still dont think they apply to your relationship. I think raising awareness of CLARE'S LAW, so potential partners can check every on, early on in a relationship would be a good start. That way there are no mixed up thoughts of is it? or isn't it? an abusive relationship involved, its there in black & white and you cant dispute those facts!

No, he never forgave me for calling the cops. I haven't heard from him. Heaven help the next woman who tries to help him.

My own brother punched me in the face and knocked me to the floor when I was 15. Now he’s 31 and abuses his girlfriend physically and mentally every other week to where she needs medical attention but she refuses. My niece gets whooped and yelled at a lot by him to were she shows signs of PTSD at 3 years old. The girlfriend allows him to do that and is just as manipulative and toxic as he is because she gets physical too and controlling. They both need to loose custody of my niece and both go to jail. I have a younger brother 21 that is going through the same thing but this time, ironically he is the one getting abused by his girlfriend. She tried to run him over with a vehicle and now she sits in jail pregnant by who knows. On New Years 2022, me and my mom tried taking the time to get him help and talk to him about his decisions being in an abusive relationship but all it did was him still defending his girlfriend and eventually he started insulting me and my mother. He ended calling the cops on me for harassing him, cops knew it wasn’t serious because he ran inside the house to hide. The next day I woke up with bruises all over my body and black eye don’t know what happened. Make it make sense. I’m done dealing with people that don’t want too seek help in abusive relationships. I decided to cut my only 2 brothers out of my life this year 2022. My condolences to the family of Ms. Holly. Jelena Im glad you were able to realize sooner than later.

I was in a very abusive relationship when I was in my late teens. I’m lucky to have survived it, no exaggeration. I want to help anyone I can avoid the physical and mental torture I did, and save a life if it gets to that point. If you meet someone you like, don’t assume they’re a good person. Look into their past and present. Ask people you know if they know anything about this person. Check them out on social media and the internet. If they’ve been charged with a crime, there should be a mention somewhere online. Ask about their family. If someone knows they’ve been raised in an abusive home, be careful. The abused can, and often do become abusers themselves. Do your research into this person. We almost always do more research on a second-hand car we’re interested in than we do on people who we invite into our homes or who invite us into theirs. It’s no different than placing your faith in almost complete strangers. We would never do that, right? We’re very wary of things like hitch-hiking these days but what’s the real difference with getting into the vehicle of someone we may have met a few days earlier? I know it’s hard when emotions are involved but this is your life. Please, find out everything you can about someone before you ever enter their homes or their vehicles and be alone with them. It very well could mean the difference between your life or your tragic death. ((hugs))

My ex stalked me mercilessly for over 11 years, it wasn't until the law changed did the police finally give him restraining order. Some of the incidents was as followed; Hiding in brushes, following me home, hiding in my garden, climbing through my bathroom window, going to my friends and family. Following me in his car, following me around the shops, finding out my location if I was out with my friends, hiding in the collage bathrooms (he didn't attend collage) smashing the window on my doors. Every time I called the police they would move him on and many would even tell me, "he just fancys you." It changed my life, and even after years of it finally stopping I suffer with anxiety, when the front door is knocked I have a panic attack and think I need to hide.

This is the second episode in a row where a security guard ends up being a violent stalker. Ironic a bit isn’t it ? People who end up as security guards are clearly highly controlling with a violent or impulse for violence - tragic case!

Not all security guards are complete psychopaths. I dated a security guard & he was (& still is) a complete & utter gentleman. Even my Nanna, who is more critical of my boyfriends than my Mum is, loves him. We dated for 4 years & it ended on very good terms. He is still a good friend & when a former ex of mine. Started getting rough & hitting/abusing, me he stepped in to protect me. He & his fellow security co-workers helped protect my family & I from my ex until his trial. & when he (my ex) was deported they made sure. That the police put him on the plane out of the country. That was 10 years ago & he (my security guard ex) still checks in on/with me once a week to make sure I'm safe & ok. He says I'm like a little sister to him & he doesn't want to see me hurt ever again. My ex the (security guard) has said if my abusive ex *EVER* shows up or threatens me or my family again. That he'll step up & take care of things make sure that we're all ok.

"You just never think someone would do something like that" and that's the problem. People are capable of evil beyond our imagination. Unfortunately we can't control other people, unfortunately the laws and police don't take stalking seriously enough - it doesn't seem like anyone truly took this seriously enough. Leaving is the most dangerous time for a domestic abuse victim. Wish she'd never met him at all tbh. Most importantly I wish the police would have kept this animal behind bars where he clearly belonged. She seemed like such a wonderful, hardworking individual, with so much promise, who definitely would have gone places in life.

I did everything that I knew how to do,to get myself away from my abuser, and rescue myself, and my daughter, and I was 22. Here I am now, with extreme PTSD with anxiety, and I saw his picture, and I froze 30 something years later. I'm thinking about changing my name, and everything, because in my mind, I'm still running from him, and I'll always be running from him. I'm in therapy, but the nightmares are still there. I'm still afraid of closets, because I hid in one, to protect myself, and my daughter. Abusers don't care, and after you leave them, they still continue to abuse you, because I'm going to always be looking over my shoulder, making sure that I'm packing, that I have something on me to take care of myself with, that I'm not in a closed off area, etc... that's my life now. I had a terrific police officer and friends who helped me, and my parents helped me, and my therapist is the greatest, but the memories are to deep.

Unfortunately the parents were too naive and had a soft approach. Police usually don't take domestic seriously and they don't really go hunting to catch a person that have committed domestic violence until in this case is too late. Trust your gut feeling as a parent and as a teenager Don't be complacent and if something is wrong and you had a repeat behaviour then it is up to us parents to protect our children We can't rely on our children sorting out problems when you see fear in their eyes Very tragic 😥 😔 I wish he rots in jail and in after life

I’ve recently this year had to cut off a toxic years long relationship with help from the police. Constant threats, whenever I would beg for him to just leave me be he wouldn’t take no. I honestly felt stuck for a long time because he scared me. I finally had enough, he was arrested and I haven’t seen him since. I still find myself looking out my blinds, I work in a public place and I’m forever scared he’ll show. I’m so grateful though to at least have him out of my life.
