I just got the Andoer S7, which is a very similar monitor for $160. * Accepts 4k signal * Native 1920x1200 IPS * Peaking, zoom, frame guides, audio levels, false color (more on that below), etc * HDMI in/out as well as composite video in/out (helpful if you ever want to hook it up to a receiver and use it as a drone FPV monitor) * Comes with NP-F and LP-E6N switchable plates, sunhood, HDMI to mini-HDMI cable (dunno why that one), cold shoe mini-ball head, AC adapter, other misc bits Caveats: * Doesn't display battery levels, so you don't know when your battery will die (unless its somehow in the menu and I missed it) * False color mode doesn't show the relative IRE scale making it fairly useless, unless you're able to interpret the results somehow Still a great deal, the image looks amazing just like Caleb said and having such a high resolution screen at 7" makes checking your image so valuable, you can actually see what you're getting and feel reasonably assured you've got proper focus without even relying on peaking or zooming (which is still a better way). I like the addition of analog composite ins so I can buy a cheapy 5.8Ghz receiver and use this monitor for drone FPV stuff.

Great review! I have the FW760 for my G85. I love it, I did notice the HDMI is in a weird location on the F7. The FW760 is on the side along with the function buttons in the front of the monitor... a much better location. Plus the FW760 is about $10-20 cheaper on some on-line stores, with all the same features as the F7. **EDITED**

I noticed the camera is the GH4. The delay has nothing to do with the monitor. It's the delay in the GH4 HDMI processing output. It's a known issue that Panny will not fix, and the GH5 looks to have the same issue in pre production models. This is particularity a problem at 24p frame rates.Oddly, when recording in 60p (which you'd think there would be more information) there is hardly any delay. :/

how did it work for you?
@chrisivy20067 жыл бұрын
I apologize for the late response. I received my monitor last week and so far I have to say its a great monitor for the price . If you purchase the monitor to be used with the a6300 you'll need to go ahead and order you a Micro HDMI because it only comes with a mini hdmi. I also highly recommend that you get a 4k Micro Hdmi cable because I noticed when I would press the review gallery button using only a 1080 supported Micro Hdmi it would lose video signal to the monitor until I press the shutter button then I get live view back. The work around was scroll through the menu to view mode /by date then I could review recorded footage. I now have a 4k micro hdmi and I see that the gallery is indeed broadcast-ed in a 4k resolution in which I no longer have those issues anymore. That was the only thing I found. The focus peaking feature is pretty acurate and the screen was viewable on the one sunny I tested it. I'm happy with it
@AlanChunkyMunky7 жыл бұрын

Nice review as usual man! Just in case anyone doesn't know - the headphone monitoring on the monitor will not work with a Canon 600/700D. I think your gonna find all the monitors have a lag or delay simply because the signal is coming out of a ton of electronic processing. Isn't there a delay on the live view on the camera itself? The HDMI out is of course a poor mans SDI signal and is digital but it is still not directly from the sensor . I do not think even the Atomos can resolve an image without a delay. I have a couple monitors and they do the same thing. Give me an idea of how many frames...I am guessing it is fairly significant like half a second or so. If you know of any that do not have a delay let me know. You know I still use that recommended cheapy shoulder mount your recommended eons ago. It is a trooper so I would take your advice on this monitor as being gospel. Keep up the great reviews. Nice thing is this monitor can be purchased direct from China.

The market needs more affordable 5-ish inchers! There's such an abundance of 7" field monitors. I need something less chunky. The Lilliput Q5 is actually rather cool, but doesn't handle 4K input signals, so not really compatible with all cameras. Guess the Feelworld/Seetec G55 is somewhat similar, not a very charming choice, though. BMD Video Assist 5" is okay, especially with the firmware upgrades, but no 4K recording, or HDMI downscaling (SDI only). The PIX-E5(H) is like the ultimate recorder, but it's also the priciest. SmallHD does monitoring only, is really nice at it, but again, pricing! Guess Personal-View has that deals thread with the Neway CT500HO that looks about alright. Supposedly the same as the Ikan DH5e if I'm not mistaken. Going smaller the Ikan VL35 is a very cute option and perfect for rigs and stabilizers. Would be way nice to have Aputure, Atomos, Convergent Design etc, looking at smaller than 7" options. Because it's kinda slim pickings here.

DON'T buy the Aputure it's garbage imo. Firstly the exposure is so far off what the camera is showing (GH4) that even with the brightness and contrasted adjusted the image is no where near what it should be. Also the sun hood design is the worst I've ever seen. The velcro edge straps cut into and overlap onto the screen, terrible design. Granted it's a cheap(ish) monitor but the most basic thing a monitor needs to do is give an accurate representation of what the camera is seeing. Stay away.

i just bought the FW760. The ports have all been moved to the side now. However, the power LED is still permanently on and is unecessarily bright. The menu system has been changed and is hard to read, I can't see why they changed it. Lastly, the exposure shown on display is frequently nothing like what is being recorded and i can't see the sense of it.
