I prefer longer videos too and it really annoys me that the algorithm is pressuring creators to run with shorts. For me, frequent 5-10ish minute vids is a good compromise while I'm waiting for the bigger ones. On another note, I feel like the production values are down a bit, which I see as a positive, because I'd rather wait 2-3 days for great contend presented a little roughly, than wait a week for the exact same content presented flawlessly.

@@VoGusProspecting You're knocking them out of the park man, lots of vids with lots of info in them. So speaking for what I imagine the majority of people are thinking, we appreciate all the hard work you put into the channel, both on camera and more importantly off camera. I have used a similar method for years, and shown many people. You get a hold pan and put about 2" of water in it. Take about a tablespoon of cons and spread them around the edges of the pan. Then use your finger and start swirling the water When you see the black sand starting move quickly move your finger to the center of the pan and give it a quick swirl. You will see a lot of the black sand go right to the center. I suck out the black sand and repeat until I am left with clean gold.

Cool! Reminds me of watching a guy use a five gallon plastic bucket with a, I think, about a one inch hole in the center of the bottom and had something like a small container lid stuck in that hole. He. Would swirle the bucket and after a bit, all the gold was in the center in that little lid. It looked like it worked real good.

Your findings in conjunction with a vibrating table or plate would be a very efficient way to separate gold from black sands. Also a small hole to collect the gold into a small collection jar and all you have to do is feed it concentrates.

thanks, excellent video, i grabbed about 4 inches worth of black sand in a 5gal pail from a river nearby that i am drying out and processing, i am going to try this, one issue i may have is i don' think there is a lot of gold in it, there seems to be either silver, mica, and a little copper and some gold, everything is very tiny and shiny, but i have managed to collect about 98% of it so far with what i panned, still too much black sand with it so i am hoping this technique will work

I’m constantly trying to come up with ways to make panning easier for myself. I only have one functioning arm and it frustrates me to no end that I can’t process an “acceptable” amount of material in a certain amount of time. I’ve thought about orbital sanders, cordless drills etc to help stratification, but so far I have not figured a safe and logical method 😂 Cheers 🍻🇦🇺

Look around for a soil classification vibrating table. If ai recall correctly they are orbital and gluing a good magnet to the center of the bottom of your pan, then centering it precisely, might do the trick. Im also hand/arm compromised, so also on search for better ways.

If you ask on "google" you will find that buried gold has a reasonance of about 37Hz (some variation will occur depending on the composition of earth/water), just above the range of normal human hearing and can be induced by a normal speaker from a radio etc. Not a difficult number to achieve, this will help separate the gold for you. As an added bonus (if you attach a speaker to the bottom of the pan) the speaker magnet should trap some of the magnetic particles and help separate them from the gold.

You tapping the pan seems to separate the gold easiest, I was wondering that if you set your drill on minimum, and continued to use two stiff brushes at the business end, whether this could "tap" the pan somewhere and separate the gold for you? If you made an extra hole in the pan, the gold could fall into a container.

Huh, that's actually one of the final steps of my cleanups... I repeat that maybe twice to get as much black sand out as feasible with a snuffer bottle, and the very final step is doing the same in a yoghurt (actually a Monte) cup. As an added benefit, when you dry the gold out in the yoghurt cup and then pour it out somewhere, the gold will flow but some of the remaining black sand will stick to the cup (at least it does with the Monte cup, and even then only with the default cocoa + white flavour; other flavours act differently even after washing and I have no clue why). But I usually only have single digit centigrams (hundredths of a gram) worth of gold per cleanup. 😞
