Nice video mate. I just recently purchased an '06, and the interior doesn't look much different from yours. Great video. 'Reminds me how awesome, timeless, and downright fun the MINI truly is.

Ooh! I will! Yeah, she has been a hassle, but totally worth it. I'd love to have a GP but I'm pretty happy with the "S" as well--especially once you have the power cranked up.

sounds a little like my 2006 R53 JCR but a little louder! I need to bypass the resonator on the exhaust! I absolutely love driving around in second gear to get the pops and crackles from the exhaust!

@dustinhxc Thanks, man. Just a few more tweaks in order to fix an exhaust leak and my broken ABS sensor then this baby will be ready for some summer action! I'm hoping that I will actually be able to use my summer tires this time around... :)

Thank you and I'm not sure. I may be selling the car in the near future--not sure if I'll part it out or not. Check back in a couple of weeks if you're still interested.

When I had it on the dyno finally it made right around 220. Keep in mind that I'm referring to WHP and not BHP (crank HP). If you put it in terms of how manufactures rate HP it would be around 245HP. In addition to that, it weighs right around 2,600LBs (I've done some weight reduc). W/P ratio (with crank HP) is 10.6LB/HP. A MS3 comes in around 12.2LB/HP. When it comes to hot hatches, it will dominate. However, it just lacks in torque, which my new ST does not! :)

What code did the cat delete throw was it lean bank one code I have a 2003 mini s with dyno comp.tune full exhaust header cat delete alta intake and alta 15% pully just dynoed at 203whp and 171wtq im in arizona in the states great mini bro
@tylerhilligoss11 жыл бұрын
Yep, the head blew out during the previous fall. It was a looooot of work on the garage floor to get her up and running. Broke and ABS sensor, so that is throwing a lot of the lights. Also, no cat is throwing a light. I pulled all of the codes so I know what needs to be addressed eventually, nothing too major. It's going to be a track car pretty soon as well.

So for a 2002 s is 220hp supercharged good? RE THEY reliable? How many miles are too many? Anything to check out for if buying one?
@precisionhonda43846 жыл бұрын
Swolenator 220hp is pretty damn good considering these come stock with like 180 ish. Purchased one with 98k miles and runs perfect. These cars require a good amount of maintenance at high miles(obviously) but if you take care of it the car should last a while. If you beat on it then don’t be surprised if it doesn’t last.

Are you talking about that L shape.adapter.for.the o2 that one doesnt work for my car do you know your 0-60'or 1/4 mile time
@tylerhilligoss11 жыл бұрын
Hey there, it's been a while so I'm not 100% sure but I believe it was throwing a code that said the car was running rich. This was merely due to the fact that the cat was gone and the special O2 sensor adapter hadn't come in yet (which only sort of works). I don't drive this car anymore; I miss the noise. :)

Purchased the head already ported and polished. So not hard at all. :)

Yes that adapter sounds correct. I'm not sure of the 0-60 or 1/4. Since the Mini is FWD I really couldn't care less about those numbers--hah. Sorry.

hey dude nice mini, I have a 2005 mcs with 16%, obx mani, gp intercooler, cai and ss exhaust. Now If i take my head of and get it P&P and exhaust and inlet intakes larger and fit 380 injectors will I have to get it mapped straight away? or will the car throw a hissy fit with the increased airflow and bigger injectors? Dam your car pulls nicley!
@tylerhilligoss10 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I sold her a year ago, kind of a bitter-sweet departure! You'd be fine for a little while but you'll be running pretty rich. Getting a tune once you get the injectors in would be a good idea. Let me know if you have any other questions!

Have to pick between an R53 Cooper S & an E46 330ci for daily driving. Which one would you pick & why
@tylerhilligoss8 жыл бұрын
Two cars very hard to choose between. I've never driven an e46 330 though so I don't think I'd be a fair judge. I did love my Mini though. :)
@1anre8 жыл бұрын
Tyler Hilligoss I picked an e46 323ci + a 2.8l engine swap.
@primoperez8056 жыл бұрын
The e46 is way more comfortable than the cooper. I had a 2001 323Ci then got a 2004 mini S. The mini is funner to drive since its manual and is quicker in a sprint but much more road noise in the cabin. The mini is also much better on gas, 32 mpg combined and 42 mpg on the highway cruising at 65mph but the suspension is stiff and you feel all the bumps on the road.
@LewibooitheWaffle4 жыл бұрын
Jesus Perez what the hell did you do to get 42mpg🤣

@iamburko5 жыл бұрын
Scott Gratton 17% Pulley and an uprated intercooler is going to get you there or thereabouts for around £600. After that its exhaust/manifold, cams/injectors for another £1000 to take you even further.

Yes I have Alta 17% reduced pulley, Airtec intercooler, colder NGK plugs, and catback magna flow exhaust. It's around 210hp, as far as you need to go unless you want track days and races...

Sorry but I don't recall the brand of clutch I purchased. Spec or something like that? Stage II street performance clutch I believe. Stock flywheel. Didn't have the money to drop on it when I had it all out otherwise I would have upgraded that as well.

@tylerhilligoss10 жыл бұрын
If you're referring to the boost gauge I honestly do not remember. The tac and RPM black were purchased and used to replace the stock silver ones (just the liner itself not the whole gauge). Can't remember who it was that sold them. Mini Madness maybe?

@tylerhilligoss11 жыл бұрын
As far as buying goes, I have mixed feelings. The stock mini is not incredibly fast, though the JCW package helps a lot. I originally liked the Mini for the "fun" factor and because it has such a great culture. However, that has been stomped on now that everyone and their grandmother owns a Mini. The JCW is also fairly expensive but the build quality is solid. Personally, I'm in love with my Focus ST. I'd recommend test driving a Mini, Mazdaspeed3 and a ST. Maybe a GTI/WRX if you have the time.
