The "USS Enterprise" sign is a replica of the dedication plaque all Starfleet ships have on their bridge (and many military ships today have as well). You can see it on the right-hand side of the 1707-D bridge.

Came here to say this and add that you can read the word "Galaxy" on the dedication plaque. Star Trek ships going all the way back to the 1960s Star Trek have these plaques, but this one is specifically for the Galaxy-class USS Enterprise NCC-1701 D, as seen on Star Trek: The Next Generation

the monitor light is specifically designed not to shine on the screen at all, only to use the monitor as a mounting placement to illuminate the desk area below

I use a HOTAS on a corner desk. It’s actually kind of a pain in the ass. I really need to redo my set up and I need new sticks as the throttle to my HOTAS doesn’t work anymore. The throttle axis is worn out and doesn’t center anymore. So now I’m using stick and mouse with the throttle there just for extra buttons.

The bar light over monitors is supposed to only point at the desk. If any of the light is glaring off the monitor either you need to re-adjust it, or it's a crap example of one.

@Down to Earth Astronomy - I have to ask. Have you considered looking at Star Trek Online? It isn't a sim game by a long shot. But it has been a bit of fun playing it. A lot of work to build up in it.

terrible storage solution, your knees are just going to be bumping the hotas.

Depends on what you are used to or can adapt to. Seems it might be terrible for you, though it might not be terrible for him as not everyone spreads their legs wide when watching videos or working. Also the hotas's move so it isn't like hitting your knee on a steel fixture (hurts quite a bit).
