Man, I'm sorry to hear that free engine ended up costing you more than if you'd sourced one locally. That's a bummer, but I'm glad to see you guys driving the Miata around! I can't wait to see what paint you guys go with.

Dude, please. We can't thank you enough for donating the engine. Hey, the bottom end is working fine!! Lol. I don't know that I could find a stock 1.8 for $600. They have gone through the roof from what I hear. The head that we installed was fresh from the machine shop with upgraded springs and I think cams from a 99 and up Miata. Either way, thanks so much for being part of the build and I can't wait to bring it up to GA so you can see it!

...it's not bad, dude thanks for taking the gem out of the donut! Man 128.6 hp is awesome!! It's badass to see you guys driving around with the top down. It's gnarly that you had to redo so much to get it running but it's paid off, the "Miata getting sprayed" episode will no doubt be epic! Great way to start the year, cheers!

Yeah, I'm super happy with the power numbers. 130 would have been nice, but it's fine for now. We can't wait to get it painted. Thanks for always watching, JC!!

Great dyno numbers if you ask me. Engine sounds strong too. I'm sure you'll hit your goal with a little more tinkering. Advance the timing a little more and premium fuel perhaps. I haven't watched all the vids yet so it's all in the future for me right now.
@ExtremeDailyDrivers2 жыл бұрын
We have a Skunk2 intake and larger throttle body in the garage ready to be installed. I think we'll hit our number 😉
@stantheman51632 жыл бұрын
@@ExtremeDailyDrivers Oh, most definitely with those upgrades! I have the Skunk2 shifter knob, but no high performance goodies. I like the car stock, but with good suspension so I can redline it all day every day and not get any speeding tickets. LOL. I truly miss my 911, but you can't wring it out in town like you can the Miata. If you make it look too fun then I might have to reconsider my position. 🤔

Hey y’all, I seen the exhaust video and now this one and it’s hard to get a good feel on the exhaust note, I have a manzo and I’m trying to tone it down a bit but I also have the raceland header, she drone at all or get obnoxious at a certain RPM?
@ExtremeDailyDrivers2 жыл бұрын
Ours doesn't drone at all, and drone does not come from the header, it's all about the exhaust. You can install a secondary muffler (I did a video on it for my Prelude just search the channel) or you can add a resonator. Good luck and thanks for watching.

So the Prelude is 146H/152T compared to the Miata 127H/115T . Given the Miata is approx 500lbs lighter. Which one feels more powerful based on "butt dyno"?
@ExtremeDailyDrivers2 жыл бұрын
The Lude is a completely different animal. It's a beast compared to the Miata in every way. The Miata is great, but it makes me appreciate the Prelude even move.

Don’t the 1.8 make around 130-133 HP stock?! Is he comparing the 1.6 numbers? Think he’s exaggerating the Mega Squirt.
@ExtremeDailyDrivers9 ай бұрын
The Dyno numbers are measured at the wheels. The 1.8 hp numbers you mentioned are measured at the crank. Typically you will lose about 30% of your power at the wheels. So when the manufacturer says it's got 135 HP, it's really more like 105 at the wheels. Dyno numbers always give the real HP/Torq numbers.
